It had been a long time since Arien had visited the home of the elves, she wandered this world alone, for the most part, but in the land of the elves, although diminished now in thier grace, there was a peace she found in few other places. Her horse shied as it reached the entrance of the forest, and she urged him forwards. His hoof beats barely broke the layer of crisp leaves that covered the forest floor, so light was his tread. For he was fleet of foot and bred by the horselords of the Rohan. "It is alright Rayne, we shall rest soon" she said and her eyes penetrated the dark cover of the trees. It would be only a few miles until the forest would open up to the hidden sanctuary of the elves.

She urged Rayne onwards and picked up his pace, as she heard the singing getting louder and glad to be so close now. Her long black hair trailed out behind her like a banner, her jade green cloak streaming over her back and over Rayne’s flank. Her garments were of dark blue silk, in a shade that was almost purple, her arms were clad in a see through chiffon, her few mortal possessions were slung low over her horses back. Her staff, which would once have been the cumbersome piece of all had bee reduced in time to a short rod of hazel wood less ostentatious than a staff, and much more practical on a horse, as was proved now, with the item tucked into her nap sack.

Rayne knew when they had reached their destination and when they reached an opening where the trees bent back away from the clearing, revealing a canopy of stars above them. Beautiful, it truly was, here in this sanctuary of the elves the Valar had been kind. She pushed herself from Raynes back, readjusting her robes. The place was quiet, almost abandoned in it’s solitude.

Her feet had not stepped on the ground of the forest of Imladris since before she had gotten married. Every once in a while she would journey back for a visit to the forest. Every once in a while her brothers would be here, or maybe just one of them would be. But as she slipped from her horse and her feet touched the ground, she did not think that they would be here. . But there was a big difference in comeing here since she had gotten married, there was a group of others with her.

"You may hold here captian, there is no danger in these woods." Arwen assured the men that were sent with her as her escort. "If you need rest, there is room enough through there." She nodded towards the house, the Last Homely House, where she had grown.

While she knew that atleast one or two of the men would still follow her and make sure she was alright, she started off silently through the deserted land. Memories of her childhood kept popping up into her mind. . Playtime with her brothers. . Getting home from a visit with her grandmother in Lorien and a getting a joyous reunion with her father.

As the memories came crashing back, so did songs from the Hall of Fire. Estel had first called her Luthien when he had seen her first. . . She started humming the Lay of Luthien as she leaned back against one of the trees.
