  • History:
Thorin was born the only child of his father, King Thorin III Stonehelm, the date he was born nothing was happening of any significance in the Dwarven World. People grew their crops, made jewels, and weapons but no one really had to much to worry about. His father was richer than ever and had set up an alliance with Eryn Lasgalen. All in all everyone was happy and the birth of the one day future king was celebrated with the noblest of Dwarven customs, a Huge drinking party. People from every corner of the Dwarven Kingdom's came to celebrate his birth and his father served the greatest wine and tastiest food in all of middle earth. His father felt happy that the line of Durin would be continued.

Thorin was taught by his father the arts of war and statesman ship. As a young lad he did not care for the latter and spent all of his time learning the way of war and although his father was proud that his son wanted to become a great warrior he was wary that if he did not know how to behave then he would never make it as a King when he died and he would simply be forgotten as a foot note in the pages of a history book and end the glorious line of Durin. So he forced his son into the lessons the education he was given was rare and costly. He learned many things among them mathematics and languages and although he did not enjoy the time he spent then he thanks his father for what he taught him. He also instilled discipline in the boy and pride of his people.

When he was fifty he was sent North to the Iron hills were he was to govern them for a year so he could see what it was like. The Iron Hills were, and still are, vast but few live their and most on a single Mountain. However he enjoyed the chance to prove himself and knew if he succeeded then his own succession would be guaranteed and no one would argue he was unprepared. Six months into the time he spent governing the Hills they were attacked by Orcs. Their was no time to alert his father to summon an army so he and seventy warriors fought and overcame the Dwarfs, however by the end only forty seven of the Dwarves survived, from then on he has held a grudge against all Orcs and delights in killing them with his mighty Axe.

During the War of the Ring he fought among Men and Elves for the good of his Kingdom and all of Middle Earth. He fought bravely but when news reached him of his fathers death he left his army in the command of another and traveled to Erebor where he was crowned. From then on he did not fight in the War as their was much of the Iron Hills and Dale to rebuild. He made sure their were many craftsmen to do this job and paid large sums of money for them to work for his Kingdom. When the war was over he sent Diplomats to the Reunited Kingdom where an alliance was struck up between the two which lasts to this day. He has heard rumours of Mordor rebuilding it's army and he has done the same in secret to counter it.

  • Alignment: Thorin himself is light but would do whatever is needed to protect his people. He regards his alliance's with Dale and The Reunited Kingdom to be of the utmost importance.
  • Personality:
As a King Elves, Hobbits and Men have an image of how he should act and hold himself among others however he is a Dwraf and their views differ greatly than the other free people of middle earth so much so that their rulers follow few, if any, of the familiar etiquette of them. Among his own people he is almost indistinguishable from a commoner, except the fine armour and jewels he wears, he joins in the songs of his ancestors and glorious warriors of the day and drinks more than anyone present until he falls unconscious and end up in his bed. He is incredibly rich and often hosts great gatherings that can go on for days at a time which allows him to indulge in one of his other treats, eating. If he did not exercise as much as he did he would surely be obese with the amount of food he eats.

Unlike many Royals he loves to fight and he is a great warrior like his father. When ever his men need to be lead into battle he jumps at the task and never takes no for an answer, unless their are two armies and then he would settle for one. Although he is a Great Warrior he is also a good statesman. He was taught by his father from a young age all he needed to become King when he died and so when his time finally came he was ready to take up the seat of power. Every Dwarf loves Jewels and he is no different because of this any Human, Hobbit, Elf or Dwarf who is able to mine or create anything beautiful is more than welcome at his court and would be honoured greatly.

__ In the Land of Mordor

  • Sample RP (canon only):
The Dwarven King stroke his beard slowly as he listened to the spy speak. Around him were his most trusted ad visors and friends who would soon share their thoughts on the matter at hand but ultimately the decision was his and he knew it. The hall of the Lonley Mountain was beautiful. Once Smaug, a mighty Dragon who had stolen the Mountain from the Dwarves, would of lay in the centre of the hall and a vast amount of treasure would of been piled up and around the beast. But now tapestry's hung on the walls with Jewels beside them. On the far end of the hall sat the King in a chair made of Gold that had been used for centuries by his ancestors, it was not comfortable but at least it showed how rich and powerful he was to anyone who entered. The spy told him of what he had seen in Mordor that more Men, Elves and even Dwarves were arriving every day with out fail each arrival stronger than the last. He had not found out why but his information was valuable. "Thank you Hargul, you will be rewarded." With that the Dwarven spy left the hall.

Thoughts raced through his mind, what was going on in Mordor. His greatest spies had not been able to find out and his allies did not know either, or were not telling him for some reason. He nodded to a servant who brought forward a glass of wine. He swung his head back and allowed the wine to fall into his gaping mouth. It was elder berry wine his mouth was used to the flavour but it was still nice some of it missed his mouth and fell on to his long black beard. "Ahhhh." He said before he wiped his lips with his sleeve.

He jumped up from the seat and began to walk through the hall. His ad visors followed behind him as he moved when he stepped out of the hall he spoke to a Dwarf on his left. He was the oldest assembled his hair was white and his beard whiter still. " I want the army doubled within the month, and drills to be tripled." The Advisor bowed and left the trail before the King turned to the younger Dwarf on his right. "Send word to our allies, ask them if they no something I do not."
