The North

New Arnor
Arnor

Arnor, also called The Kingdom of the North, was established by the Numenoreans after the sinking of the island of Númenor. Ruined by a 700 year war with the Witch-king and division among the royal house, Arnor is a largely desolate land haunted by Orcs, Wargs, and other fell beasts. Far in the North, at the Icebay of Forochel, a new darkness has made its home in the fortress called Atalantë.

New Eriador
Eriador

In the northwestern corner of Middle-earth lies Eriador. The gently rolling hills in the west are home to Hobbits and the men who live around Bree. To the east of Bree, marshland become craggy cliffs filled with treacherous passes and malicious creatures. Rivendell marks the end of Eriador and the edge of the wild lands beyond.

No New Eregion
Eregion

An empty swatch of wilderness to the west of the Misty Mountains is all that remains of this once thriving part of Middle-earth. The glorious realms of the Elves and Dwarves were destroyed long ago by Sauron and the Balrog. Both civilizations retreated to Eriador and Rhovanion. Now there is nothing in Eregion except silence.

The West

New Riddermark
Riddermark

After aiding Gondor in battle, Rohan was given to Eorl the Young as a gift. It is called the Riddermark, Home of the Horselords, by its people and Rohan by outsiders. The White Mountains and Misty Mountains form a natural wind tunnel that whips the grasslands into a furious symphony even on calm days. Their horses are unrivaled in Middle-earth.

Gondor

Though battered and beaten by war on all borders, Gondor has ever remained firm as a force against corruption and evil in Middle-earth. From the rugged terrain of the White Mountains on the northern border to the shining city of Dol Amroth on the coast, the lush forests of Lebennin and the rebuilt city of Emyn Arnen, Gondor stands strong.

The East

New Rhovanion
Rhovanion

Life is rough east of the Misty Mountains. Settlements are few and far between. There is no source of great wealth here. For many centuries, this part of Middle-earth was afflicted with the evil in Dol Guldur, Sauron's Northern fortress. That place has been destroyed, and Rhovanion recovers. Life is still hard here, with only timber and water to tame The Wild.

No New Rhûn
Rhun

To the east the kingdom of Rhûn lies far removed from the rest of Middle-earth. Protected by the towering Mountains of Rhûn and the eastern ocean, the West knew little about their culture until the Battle of the Pelennor. In the southeastern portion of the kingdom, the Wainriders rule. Brutal and allied with Mordor, they are enemies of the West.

The South

New Mordor
Mordor

A ruined and desolate land, the Dark Lord Sauron built his realm here, and beneath his Shadow, evil festered in stinking crags and putrid caves. The Dark Lord's kingdom was destroyed when the One Ring was cast into the fires of Mount Doom. The foundations of his tower crumbled, the plains of Gorgoroth spilt, and the Black Gate was destroyed.

New Umbar
Umbar

The territory of Umbar has long been a disputed land between Gondor and the Corsairs. The Black Numenoreans, those who followed Sauron, have kept control of Umbar for most of history. The Corsairs are pirates, thieves, and vagabonds. They know no restraint. Their fleet destroyed by the Army of the Dead, they are not considered an imminent threat.

Harad

To the south and east of Gondor lies the empire of Harad, also called the Sunlands. The men of this realm have ever followed Sauron. Separated by the River Harnen into Near Harad and Far Harad, the empire is a vast desert with a fertile coast. Life is hard in Harad. Water is scarce, death is always imminent, and the Emperor has total control.
