There are currents of change moving through the waters though. There's talk of revolt and rebellion, not to mention the murmurs of the arguments between Frank Fontaine, a popular businessman, and Andrew Ryan himself. Whether you find yourself working down at the wharf or living the high life in Mercury Suites, these changes will affect you. No one knows how and no one knows when they'll come, but one day they'll hit Rapture and life as we know it will be virtually altered with no warning. ----------------------------------------------------- This is the How to Join/Welcome/Rules/etc. thread for New Eden a Bioshock board-based RPG that takes place before the fall of Rapture. Canon character and original characters are both welcome in the game! [ none at the moment ] ----------------------------------------------------- HOW TO PLAY/RULES: .. start all RPs in the Nov. 5 1946 forum. Once they are completed they'll be locked and moved to the Completed sub-forum so they'll be there to read and look back on. .. when starting a thread, put the title of the thread in the subject line and whether it's an OPEN or CLOSED thread. Then on the topic description line put where in Rapture the RP is taking place. If the thread is OPEN, then any character can come in and post in the thread -- if the thread is CLOSED, then it can only be posted in by certain characters. Please put at the top of the first post what characters are supposed to be in the thread if said thread is CLOSED. .. make sure you answer threads with more than a few words. Treat it like a book, not like a: walks in HAI GUYZ~! In other words, spelling/correct grammar/No TyPiNg LiKe ThIs EiThEr. D: .. no OMG ALL POWERFUL!!1 characters. Just because your character is angry with someone in the RP doesn't mean you can suddenly bust out ten different kinds of plasmids on them. Make it believable, like the game. ;D .. if someone playing a canon character is inactive for a period of over four months, then that canon character is open and up-for-grabs and another player can take them as their own and play them. .. there's a two character limit to CANON characters and no limit to how many original characters you have -- as long as you manage to play all your characters. ----------------------------------------------------- HOW TO JOIN: If you'd like to join New Eden, first we'd like to say thank you! And now on to the how-to! 1.) Join up on the board with an OOC (out of character name -- if you don't already have one) that you can use to post in this forum with (along with all the forums at the top of the board ;D). Once you register, login and pm me with what character(s) you'd like, a tiny bit about them (if they're an original character) and who you are using in their icon on the board -- if you're using actors/actresses, etc. 2.) I will add the character(s) to the taken list pinned at the top of this forum and then you can go ahead and register their username -- which should be their name with a . and a space in front of it. For example, Fontaine's username would be . Frank Fontaine. This is to differenciate RP names from regular board names, since some people might just come here to post about Bioshock and not play on the RP. ;D 3.) Once you've read the rules and have all your usernames straight, you're good to go ahead and start playing. Enjoy yourself! NOTE TO CURRENT PLAYERS WHO WANT TO START A NEW CHARACTER: Make sure they aren't taken already and PM me with the info. If it's an OC, tell me a little bit about them and all that jazz -- as well as what actor you'll be using for icons (if you'll be using one)... Most importantly is HAVE FUN!
