Phoney Data Dump!; FOOLS GOLD

A Storm is Coming

Please do not look to the man behind the curtain and ignore what my Left hand is doing

Pay attention to my Right hand and look at all these incredible exploits.....

https://arstechnica.com/security/2017/03/wikileaks-publishes-what-it-says-is-trove-of-cia-hacking-tools/

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/03/07/wikileaks_cia_cyber_spying_dump/

https://arstechnica.com/security/2017/03/after-nsa-hacking-expose-cia-staffers-asked-where-equation-group-went-wrong/

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/03/08/cia_exploit_list_in_full/

Bullshit!

These script kiddy exploits are simply misdirection and very poor quality misdirection at that

This dump is simply to notify software vendors that their codewriting skills are CRAP!

This data dump will only improve the security of 3rd party software vendors....
It DOES NOT address the CLOSED SOURCE backdoors in any commercial Operating System!

These types of dumps simply allow software vendors to improve the security of their wares and prevent "3rd Party Actors" from stealing your data

These dumps DO NOT prevent the NSA from using the backdoors THAT THEY DESIGNED in Closed Source Operating Systems and the exploits listed do not even remotely compare to the exploits being used by those who designed the hardware in your computer

The job of the CIA is to spread propaganda and misdirection to protect their REAL sources

Funny, I didn't see that in the news today

Your WhatsApp messages will still be read BEFORE they are encrypted by "parties unknown" long after these crappy exploits are addressed by 3rd party software vendors

Don't get me wrong....
Addressing these vulnerabilities prevents many of the problems in software available today
But it does NOT address the real issue at hand

If you want REAL security, Stop trusting the Operating System and the Antivirus Companies!

-----------------------------------
Tip of the day:

If YOU have been a repeat victim of targeted attacks on a freshly installed copy of Windows 8.1 with ALL the MS security updates and updated antivirus

Try this on a new or freshly wiped drive.....
Install a 90-day trial of Windows 8.1 WITHOUT the MS updates and see if you are repeatedly attacked

I've found that certain types of attacks only seem to be affecting fully updated copies of Windows

Microsoft has no idea who will be using a freshly installed copy of Windows and therefore must insure that it is secure for whomever installs it

However, once you begin downloading MS updates, specific types of exploits are patched while others are being opened

It's the same problem as the phoney CIA data dump currently in the news

The man behind the curtain still has all your base
It is only the 3rd party actors who can no longer get in

;)

A Storm is Coming

I stand corrected

The cartoonish quality of this data dump looks fake by the number of publicly avail exploits and outdated exploits of less than stellar quality

It seems they use publicly avail exploits for plausible deniability

The timing of the dump added to the impression this was simply a stunt to get a reaction

Meanwhile, Back at the ranch, Team Trump is wondering why the Left is not outraged by the release of Classified Hacking tools and information

That was a bit odd, I never knew outdated and publicly available information was Classified?

This whole story should be in a cartoon.....
