Jeff...thanks for posting! the first image of the ferry docking seems most appropriate, including Mike's and my positions on the ferry. I can't say for certain that we were on the ferry which would have taken us to the Statue of Liberty or if they simply loaded us on another "handy" ferry. I was at the end closest to the Towers and Mike was somewhere mid-ship on the top. Hope the other pictures and my sketch help.

Thanks to everybody. TGCC

I am creating a model of the pier at Battery Park where the ferry would have been,
so I looked into this question I asked earlier about the tide. NOAA has this information
available online. There is a water level monitoring station right there at the Coast Guard station
so the information would be accurate for the spot in question.

It looks like the tide would have been very much on the low end of the scale when the plane hit the
second tower at the World trade Center.

Sorry it has been a while; I have a personal life, sometimes.
Anyway; I opened Barry Drogin’s map in Paint and tried to “erase” all of his marks so we can use it for our own purposes. How did I do?

Nice. I wonder if there is a map showing elevations, which would be useful to me
for building a model.
Here is a photo I found which is close to being the view looking back down on
Carmen, from the plane as it terminated its flight.

Not really, because I'm pretty sure it was taken from the roof, but it gives you the general idea.

Nice pic, jm!
Something I wish I would have had three years ago.
It answers a lot of questions I struggled with.
Compare this with the same angle in Google Earth and
see how far off the models are.
This is a little bit reduced on this page.
It should be 1084 x 791. I think you can get the full
sized version off my photobucket album.
I got it off a photo sharing site where it is in a form
that can not be downloaded directly, so this is a screen
capture which is not as good.

Jeff,

I did ask, on the forum a while back, for some short (100 word-style) updates, comments, opinions, etc, which I could incorporate into my high school program. Didn’t get any responses. Think it might be an interesting project for everyone. It takes a lot of thought and precision to do this. A lot of people tend to ramble (me, too), argue, challenge, etc., and find it more difficult to simply state their current position (without profanity). We might be surprised to see our answers and attitudes now versus what we first said. Maybe you can help with this specific project.

Take good care, Carmen

Great! What was on that phone call? Is she all right?

btw, I've been thinking about making a video about her pictures (kind of like I did with Yury's pictures).

Just something to keep your eye out for.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Debs

eta: the onus for making a video about Carmen's photos falls upon me alone; I have been considering doing so for some time.

Carmen is fine. She was asking about a request she had made that I pinned here:
http://s1.zetaboards.com/pumpitout/topic/3330152/

The call was just her talking to Joe Keith about what she saw. I was hoping that talking to her would get Joe to rethink what he thought about the planes.

I look forward to the video!

Jeff, thanks for starting this...really hope we get some response. Also, might be interesting for each of us to go back to our first writings about 9/11, find a short comment that defines our thoughts at that time, and then compare to now. I would be interested in seeing the differences. Where have we come in these years? What is our "snapshot" of us now versus then?

Thanks everybody...hope you'll help out. tgc c
