The book is titled Physics for Future Presidents. Copyright 2008. I saw it today in the new paperbacks section of the bookstore. I figured 9/11 had to be addressed, considering the title. I was right! Chapter 1. Linked above. |

Muller's eMail and website are sponsored by the gov., his boss: Berkeley Lab, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. U.S. Department of Energy. A U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory Operated by the University of California. http://www.lbl.gov He considers his book as 'popular' (hence, disinfo for the masses): New popular book (not textbook) "Physics for future Presidents." False on all counts. NIST based data show us that the fires peaked around 1GW. The fire in the ST lasted 56 minutes. Thus the generated energy was around 3 TJ, that translates into roughly 750 tons of TNT or 0,75 kt. Now, the NK test was 4 kt. Jet fuel releases only about 12 times more energy than TNT, office material is half as good. The rest of the article is such a nonsense-bable that I will not try to debunk it. |

That is some funny Greening style physics. I completely miss the loss of energy during that slow release of what ever amount of energy (due to wind, due to thermal conductivity, due to bad burning processes due to a lack of oxygene...) I miss the amount of kerosene for that statement since FEMA and NIST overestimated the remaining amount for some 1000 gal. A good point to start with would be the estimation of the average temperature and the necessary amount of fuel to generate a 400000m² fireball (black smoke). That amount burnt away in 9 seconds! ...and should be subtracted from the estimated fuel of the airplanes that fell into the basement and exploded below the elevator cabins (and also above of the cabins at the 22nd floor where it destroyed the roof excess, the communication system and so on). We talk about that magic fuel, don't we? And of course the droplets of that magic fuel were as big as footballs because otherwise these droplets would have fallen for over a minute to reach the lobby level. At that time the (strangely enough) west side of the lobby was already gone. TNT releases ALL the energy in a fraction of a second and the losses are quite small (same for nuclear explosions). But may be we should count the energy released by a dripping water in the bathroom. The day will come when that energy exceeds the amount of energy released in Hiroshima. ... ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! My advice for future presidents: Put water into bombs! And kerosene into A-bombs. You will rule the world because everyone will love you (even for a massive airstrike in the desert). Professor of Physics / U. Calif. Berkeley??? Strange somehow these professors from US universities. |

Love the notion about the no-mass-loss-hercynite-fayalite Greening, now that's an idiot! He needs a god ol' kick in the groin and a big punch in the face........... Love the notion about the dripping water. ....a 12 story building (in which I lived for a short while...) with 72 flats uses energy equialent of 0,25kt...every year!!!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! ALL CITIES ARE IN DANGER!!! Edited by peterene, Nov 10 2009, 03:53 PM.

Serious question: How many water taps had the good old WTC?
