To compute the average speed of a 767 as it flies its own length, do this: 159 divided by 6/30 = (159 X 30) divided by 6 = 795 feet per second. To convert this to Miles per hour do this: (795 feet/seconds X 3600 seconds/hour) divided by 5280 feet/mile = 542.05 miles/hour Length of 767 = 159 feet. Camcorder rate + 30 frames/second Number of frames it took the 767 to fly its own length = 6 Have fun, Joe Keith |
