Quite telling of this man's priorities. National day of prayer, no can do. Gay, lesbians, transgenders, yes right this way. Obama celebrates Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Transgendered Pride Month The Oval, USA Today Obama celebrates LGBT, didn't celebrate National day of Prayer President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama host a White House first today, a reception for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender Pride Month. Gay rights groups strongly backed Obama’s presidential bid last year. But in recent weeks, they have criticized him for inaction on gay marriage and ending the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. It will be interesting to see if Obama addresses these complaints. Oval colleague Fredreka Schouten gives more background on today’s event: “Earlier this month, Obama signed a memorandum granting federal workers who are gay and lesbian some of the benefits that married couples receive, including using sick leave to care for a partner. It also permits same-sex partners to be added to the health-insurance program that covers care for long-term conditions, such as Alzheimer’s. It did not, however, extend full-health care benefits to gay and lesbian couples and does not apply to uniformed military personnel.” http://www.exposeobama.com/2009/06/29/obama-celebrates-lgbt-pride-month/ |

Gay people actually exist. An invisible space person who hears people muttering under their breaths does not. |

Really Dean. The guy's approval rating just went back up over 60%. I keep telling you. Pace yourself. You've got at LEAST three years and six months to go. |

Great, but how long is that going to last. He can blame the previous administration only for so long. |

You would have a better point if you made a case for the failure to recognize a national day of prayer instead of trying to make an issue out of celebrating LGBT month... One has nothing to do with the other. |

That's actually the point the article was making, that Obama failed to recognize the national day of prayer. The celebration of LGBT month (and why a whole month when prayer gets just a day ) shows the slight of national prayer day was intentional.
