What exactly is it going to accomplish or supposed to do?
I frankly think it will destroy our economy. Your Thoughts?

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on this but how is it going to destroy the economy?

I went to some ghey energy efficiency conference yesterday hosted by local chamber of commerce. Almost every local manufacturer was very excited about the program. They all projected that they would be able to trade alot of their credits to other, less efficient manufacturers and businesses and even further reduce their costs.

I haven't really read enough about it to have an opinion yet.

I'm wondering if this could turn into a Wall Street/speculator/futures market disaster?

This is all tied into the biggest hype job in the history + taxes in the history of the USA. Plus Global Warming ( Big Crock). This is going to turn out to be the worst administration in the history of the US. In fact that will be good the Democrats will be swept into the gutter where they belong. :clapper:

You just made my point for me, Bob....thanks!

Someday you will understand that there is absolutely no difference whatsoever between having an "R" after your name or having a "D" after your name. Nobody will be sweeping out anyone...because they are all EXACTLY the same.

Oh...and Bachmann is an anti-American POS who should publicly executed on PPV...

Companies that produce power will have a CAP to their carbon-emissions output. These caps will be in the form of "Carbon Credits". These credits, above and beyond your CAP (an arbitrary and perpetually reducing #) will need to be purchased on a Carbon Emissions Market. This is the TRADE part.

What's happening is; there is a marketplace being set up to "sell" these carbon credits, hence there will be a profit-motive for (as PK puts it- Gordon Gecko Types) "entrepreneurs" to raise the value of these carbon credits.

There is NO WAY for this legislation to have an effect that will lower energy prices.

dude wake up... any so called "science" that is against global warming is funded fully by petrochemical dollars. and so called "scientist" that is against global warming might as well have his phd printed on Charmin toilet paper.

this is way bigger than al gore... It's basic stuff BobB. Even the Bush White House admitted it was real. Saying it's not is like saying the sky is green or red. you can believe what you want but all that thinking and a metrocard will get you a ride on subway. The science is real, to believe otherwise is wishful thinking at best...at worse it's a crime against future generations.

That was pretty dumb.

Carbon Monoxide detectors should go near the ceiling of your home because the monoxide would be produced as a result of combustion and since combusted air is warm, it will rise.

Please P4JF posters, do NOT follow ANY of Bob's advice. Please put your detectors near the ceiling.

Never mind that you wouldn't know cap & trade from cap'n crunch...

unlike the unproven myth of global warming aka climate change, which is real for noone except for the Gdless who still need religion or latter-day Luddites, there was scientific proof even in 1955 that smoking was bad for your health. Ernst Wynder, a researcher at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, reported in 1953, showing that cigarette smoke could cause tumors when applied to mouse skin.

pork, when measured scientifically, is about fifty percent leaner today than it was 54 years ago. A three-ounce portion of lean pork is only @ 200 calories. For those on high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets, bacon makes a great snack when fried up crispy-it supplies that crunch that is often missed on these diets, while most of the fat is rendered out. A standard cooked slice of bacon contains about 30 to 40 calories per slice, and even less if you cook it slowly until very crisp and drain well on paper towels.
