Having dealt with real actual homeless people "professionally", the vast majority-90% plus-are people with substance abuse problems or mental health issues or both. The idea there's some vast legion of poor homeless families who happen to be down on their luck is nonsense. What may be true is that poor people and working poor frequent soup kitchens. |

Now that you bring it up, a high percentage of families in poverty do have cable TV. Is that a necessity or a luxury? |

What percentage? Please feel free to provide a link to back up your conclusion. Secondly, I don't give a fuck, I have my own family to take care of and do not care about how another family spends their money. I do not want to rule the earth like you. |

![]() When our tax dollars are in question, then yes, Brother CR, it becomes all of our issue how they spend their money. |

Wow great find, Heritage.org and 8 year old stats from a rightwing website. Great research! |

So the government should be able to tell people how to spend their money? |

Well, I challenge you to show us all where these stats are inaccurate. And the Hertiage Foundation is a very well respected organization. Brother CR, just because the truth doesn't fit with your "reality", don't avoid it. Accept it. Have a blessed night, I am retiring for the evening. |

What year are we currently in? Your stats are from 8 years ago. What is the poverty level for the Heritage group? You wouldn't even provide a link because you knew Heritage is a bs rightwing group well respected by its own rightwing wanna be conservatives. Fuckin Sad dude. |

meh..there is nothing that says that this man is indeed homeless..it is a picture of a guy taking her picture....and everyone is basically assuming this mans origin. Also, as far as the heritage guys...a bit of crap there...this group decided that the definition of poverty doesn't fit their own so they decide to re-define it for their purposes. People make horrible financial decisions every day. Possessions do not negate what the income is now. Someone can have a plasma tv and blue ray player and become someone considered below the poverty line if he loses his job or makes very little income. It is sort of a redirect...the heritage guys decide, well this person should sell everything they own first before they can be considered poor. |

For the record, I brought up the possibility that the man in the pic is not homeless. Dean and Ernie just assumed he was, why, I don't know and they could not explain. |

Gee, maybe because he was on line at a soup kitchen for the homeless. Wow you are right, what a stretch to assume he was homeless. Please think, Brother Klecko. It makes life so much easier and enjoyable. |

Actually, he wasn't online. The picture is of him taking a picture of the first lady. The man is not holding a tray or anything. He was standing in the best spot to get a picture of the first lady serving food. Just because that happens to be where you go to get served doesn't mean he is online. Try thinking once in a while. It helps to make you not sound like a moron. |

Come on, guy. He was approaching the window. Of course he didn't have his tray yet. Plus he had his picture phone out. Couldn't multitask. He probably had an empty tray set down at his feet, which he was going to pick up after the picture to receive his food. Please Brother Klecko, think a little. No one bashed Obama in this thread. |

Take another look at the pic Ernie. He is right up at the window. There is a ledge in front of him with no tray. Being observant will help you in many ways. Everytime I've ever been somewhere where food is served cafeteria style, you pick up your tray before you get on line, not right before you get your food. |

I didn't say anything about Obama. You like to assume a lot of things. You assume this man is homeless despite photographic evidence to the contrary. You assume I have some agenda in this thread other than to point out how foolish the OP and the blog author's assumption that the man taking the picture is homeless is. You assume that I was suggesting that FJ does nefarious things with the 12-year-old asian boys he hangs out in hotel rooms with over the weekends. You know what happens when you assume Ernie? |

Again, the photographic evidence shows a man on line at a soup kitchen for the homeless. The stretch would be to say he was not homeless. |
