Let's not get too crazy though about Iran..yes they are angry about the election but it really has nothing to do with foreign policy, where the two candidates share many similar views, it is more about the screwed up Iranian economy and Iranians in that country wanting the oil money making an impact on the people there.
Again, like I have said in the past, ideology will have nothing to do with regime change and our relationship with f'd up ME countries....it will always be about the money. We were fine and dandy with the British, it was the taxes we hated!
That is the only way to defeat terrorism as well..guns are nice but stopping bushels of cash is better.
The only thing we have going for us is the fact that the ME (Afghanistan and Iran in particular) have such young populations with under 35 median ages. These kids have to be told of the revolution et al..and they for the most part they don't care. The just want someone in there to "spread the wealth" so to speak and maybe embrace some western culture, like American Idol and blue jeans. Yes, those gunless Iranian youts will just rise up and take over.
Real change will be effected by everyone coincidentally your age or younger *chuckle* - what are they/you gonna do, twitter Ahmanutjob into submission? You havent even made the switch to digital TV yet.
Thanks for the brilliant (not) history/economic review, sounds like you've been comparing notes with the thread starter

change in these countries will happen from within...and yes..youth is the way to go..sorry old man.....but the old guys in Iran are a lot like you..inflexible...outdated...set in their ways..bigoted....and find anything new is evil/morally repugnant.
So, yeah..old timers please sit this one out....money is the root of all revolutions...whether you like it or not...I know you may not make a correlation with time passing and change...but that is how it works...old people are fairly useless....like yourself

Almost like you have to label anyone who doesn't think like you a liberal and then disagree with them no matter what..
lets test the theory

"pin-ko" - the dead end, un-patriotic intersection of lib and libertarian...like gay Siamese twins in love with themselves...knock yourself out waiting for rogue nations you idolize to reform themselves, or for B. Hussein to do something about it

What does this even mean? it means that since I don't agree with him or think just like he does I obviously must love terrorists and want to see babies die and hate America...it helps him sleep at night to know he is the lone ranger in this world...fighting for truth, justice, and the American way!!

What does this even mean? I'm not quite sure.
But, all of a sudden I pictured someone kissing themselves in the mirror.

This isn't going to end well for the protesters. It will probably end up like Tiananmen Square.
