Sometimes the only thing you can do in life is hope. Hope was the only thing Remilla could think of as she was dragged away. Frightened children stared at the two large black wolves that viciously held her, and were promptly rushed inside by their parents. Remilla had stopped struggling, her strength depleted. Her captors were simply too strong. Within a few minutes, she was tossed rather unceremoniously into a wooden covered wagon, the thick oak doors slamming shut behind her. For a moment, it was pitch-black. As her eyes adjusted, she examined her surroundings. The interior of the wagon was completely bare, with the exception of a small bucket in the corner. The wagon began to rumble as she rubbed her wrists where the wolves had gripped her. The fur was patchy and the flesh underneath was red. She straightened her tattered clothes and shakily stood up. Her tail helped balance her, but the combination of her trauma and the wagon's movement sent her falling right back down. Remilla sighed and leaned against a wall. All she could do now was hope. Eventually, the wagon stopped. Remilla was hungry, but that was the last thing on her mind as the doors swung open, blinding her with a flash of daylight. The same wolves that had broken down her door and dragged her here took hold of her once more. Remilla didn't even try to resist, trying to conserve her strength for whatever foul treatment she would recieve when they got to their destination. They stopped for a moment as Remilla's eye's adjusted once again. They were in a dark stone storage room of some sort, filled with all manner of crates, barrels and the occasional chest. She was hoisted into the air, bound, and gagged, her entire body immobilized as the ropes bit into her flesh. One of the wolves wandered into another part of the strange building that she was trapped within, the other hoisted her over his shoulder and walked in the opposite direction. Finally, after what seemed like hours, her captor tossed her down and walked off. Remilla struggled to get a better look at her surroundings, and found a handsome grey fox smiling at her deviously. "Hello there. I suppose you're a bit confused?" he said in a subtly meanacing tone. He walked over to her and stroked her fur. She would have bitten him if she wasn't gagged. He grinned and leaned against a nearby wall. "You may not understand why you've been taken here.. but I do. And i'm not going to just let you go now that you've been brought here. Of course, I can't just keep you here either.. so i'll just do this." he said, gesturing at something behind Remilla. She wiggled around and saw a thick glass window. But it wasn't the window that terrified her. It was what was behind it. A large, green dragon was chained up in a pit. He looked hungry, and Remilla understood what the fox meant. "Perhaps we'll find your bones later, and we'll give you a proper burial. Goodbye.." he snarled, and snapped his fingers. Another wolf walked in and grabbed Remilla. She struggled with all of her power, which wasn't much. She did NOT want to die like this.. devoured by a dragon! She was brought to another room where she was unbound. She tried to dash past the guard and escape out the door, but her attempt was countered with a claw to the face. Knocked back by the force of the blow, Remilla was overtaken by the searing pain and did nothing to resist as a trapdoor opened underneath her. She was falling.. The wound wasn't hurting quite as much but she wasn't able to let out a scream as she came face to face with the dragon. Remilla sat terrified as the dragon stared at her. His warm, moist breath washed over her, standing her fur on end. His maw was lined with a sharp row of teeth, each practically the size of a dagger. His body was covered in emerald green scales, each shimmering like a gemstone, and his wings lay flat across his back. His mane was purple, thick enough to hide in, and his tail curled around him, ready to whack anything that might attack his flank. And yet, as Remilla stared into his deep eyes, she sensed no maliciousness, but.. loneliness. But it was not his eyes that delivered the biggest surprise. "Hi. I guess." the dragon said to Remilla, staring at her wistfully. |

"W..what?" Remilla stuttered as she tried to comprehend what had just happened. "You act like you've never heard a dragon speak before." the dragon replied. "Well.. no... I never.. really.." Remilla said, bracing herself for the dragon's response. The dragon merely sighed and stared up at the window where the grey fox watched. "I don't know. He.. he captured me. I was being stupid and let him hit me with an arrow.. it had dragonsbane on it.. and I fell. I've been locked up in here ever since." he said, sighing deeply. He stared at Remilla hungrily, which made her shiver. "Are.. are you going to eat me?" she asked. "Well.. I have no other choice. If I don't, he's just going to kill you anyways.. and I haven't been fed in weeks..." he replied, looking sorrowfully at Remilla, who backed away from him. "But.. if you help me escape.. I can make sure that you survive." he said, approaching Remilla, ready to pounce. "What?!?" Remilla said, backing up against a wall, looking for a place to run but finding none. "I'm really sorry.. but at least you live this way." he said, and pounced on Remilla. The wind was knocked out of her lungs as she was pinned to the ground by the dragon's claw. A thick, raspy tounge slithered out of his maw and licked her face, uprooting some fur in the process. His saliva was warm and sticky, but Remilla was too terrified to complain. The tounge wrapped around her, trapping her as she was drawn into his gaping maw. She was practically covered in dragon saliva now, and couldn't even scream as his jaw closed, leaving her surroundings completely dark. The tounge unwrapped from her, but she was dripping with saliva, her fur matted down. At least he didn't chew, she thought, but the thought was quickly wiped from her mind as muscular action drew her closer to his throat. This was it.. she was a goner. There was no point struggling. She would be digested like a sandwich... she sighed and accepted her fate. The dragon's throat was slimy and smelled like rotten meat. As Remilla was squeezed down his esophagus, she hoped she gave him heartburn. And then, she reached the stomach. It was a tight fit, she filled it up near-completely, and only her head stuck out of the acid. And then she realized.. she wasn't being digested. The acid didn't sting at all. Perhaps.. there was more to this than just being a snack. However, while her fur and flesh remained unscathed, her clothes did not. Within minutes, her already-tattered clothing dissolved into nothingness, leaving her completely naked. Slightly embarassed for a moment, she suddenly realized, while confining, her fleshy prison was actually somewhat comfortably, warmed from the dragon's body heat. This peace was interrupted as the stomach walls began to shake violently. Remilla hoped that the dragon was able to make his escape soon, because she feared what would happen if he didn't. And then, a very strange sensation overcame her. Her body went limp, but she felt as if she was being drawn elsewhere. Her very soul was taken from her body and absorbed into his. For a moment, she WAS the dragon. She felt his wings gliding through the air, she saw a vast forest and an armored wolf, and she heard the sounds of combat... and then it stopped. Her soul became hers once more, but she was not in her body. She was floating outside of it, outside of the dragon. She was glowing a pale white, and she felt bound to the dragon. Both the dragon and the wolf were staring at her. Remilla suddenly realized she was still unclothed, and hid behind the dragon's tail. The wolf was distracted long enough to get shredded by the dragon's claw. The wolf growled and slashed at the dragon with his sword, doing nothing to penetrate the dragon's thick scales. The dragon growled and breathed fire on the wolf, burning him to a cinder. The corpse fell to the ground, and the dragon roared in triumph. "Woah.. you.. you're pretty tough." Remilla said. "I could have used your help back there.. why did I think I summoned you?" he replied, mildly annoyed. "Oh.. I didn't.. I don't know how to fight.. sorry." Remilla replied. The dragon's annoyed look softened, as he winked at her. "That's understandable... well.. I suppose we should get going, else we're just going to get locked up again. My name.. is Sprout. Good to meet you." he said. "Mine's Remilla. But you can call me Rem. If you want." Remilla replied, drifting over to his wing. "You're hurt.." she said. "No.. don't worry about it. I can still fly." Sprout said. "We'll fly over to somewhere safe, then you can... exit.. err, yeah." Remilla shivered at the thought and floated alongside her new friend. She tried to pat him on the head, but found that there was no resistance. Her soul was absorbed into his body once more, and for a moment, she felt everything he felt. The curious sensation ended, and her soul rejoined her body. It was odd, being restrained to a physical form after being so free.. but she shrugged and closed her eyes. As comfortable as his gut was, Remilla longed to be free from Sprout's stomach. A shudder indicated that this would become true momentarily. Remilla held her breath as she was squeezed into Sprout's intestines. The tiny villi tickled her as they searched for nutrients that weren't there. A dark, quivering mass of waste met her, causing her to shiver as she braced for what was next. And then, it was over. She was outside, next to a pure, clean waterfall. She quickly washed the disgusting matter off of herself and stared at the dragon. He was staring back. For a moment, it seemed like their eyes met until she realized exactly what Sprout was staring at. She blushed and ran behind a bush while Sprout snickered. After fashioning some makeshift clothing out of leaves, Remilla came back out, where Sprout had gathered some food. Sprout lit a fire with his breath and began to hollow out a rock to use as a pot. Remilla assisted him, and within a half-hour, it was dark, and soup was simmering over the campfire. "Alright.. that fox.. who.. who is he? And why did he feed me to you?" Remilla asked. "His name.. is Markivus.. and.. well.. I should probobly start from the beginning." Sprout replied, sighing. |
