There comes a point in any trainer's life when they find themselves sad. Perhaps their pokemon abandoned them, perhaps they lost the big tournament they were training for. When this happens, often, there's only one thing to do. Drink lots and lots of liquor. Part 1: Brewing The first step of any aspiring bartender is basic Booze. Rum, whiskey, brandy can all be enjoyed on their own, but achieve great success when formed into a Cocktail. But the first step is to get the Booze. Brewing ties closely in with Farming. Most types of Booze require plants only grown via Farming. To Brew, you will need: One Main Ingredient One to Five Brewing Additives Twenty Bottles A Still Once you have all of these things, you can brew! Each recipe will require a Main Ingredient, usually aquired by farming, but occasionally via other methods. In addition, depending on the recipe, you will require 1 to 5 packets of Brewing Additives, sold by any Brewing Trainer. To start, right click a still and select the Brew verb. A window will open up with several slots. Drag your main ingredient, your brewing additives, and possibly a Secondary Ingredient (more on this later) and select Brew! Brewing requires patience. It will take a bit of time for your booze to be ready. This can be as short as 2 minutes for simple booze, and up to 10 for more complex brews. Once the brew is ready, based on your Brewing skill and the quality of the ingredients you added, your brew will be given a Quality Level. With twenty bottles in your inventory, right click on the Still and select the Collect Brew verb to transfer the Booze into your empty bottles. Basic Booze is the staple of any bar- most patrons will ask for something simple and cheap (not clean). However, better drinks require something more. By combining different types of booze and other additives, you can create unique cocktails- which will be explained in Part Two! |

Part Two: Bartendering The first step of Bartending is to get a bar. This can be any simple building- but you must have a Bar Counter in it. The Bar Counter is what you use to mix your drinks and serve them to your customers. Maintaining your Bar Counter is simple. Over time it will get dirty, from spilt booze to other nasty things. With a Bartending Rag, your main tool, you can wash the bar, along with your Booze Glasses. Booze Glasses are special items that, as the name implies, you can put Booze in. By assigning Booze Glasses to your Bar Counter, you will be able to actually serve drinks. Each Bar Counter can hold different amounts of glasses- higher quality bars hold more. Booze Glasses also get dirty after every usage. Wash them with your Bartending Rag to clean them out. Now, onto the actual Booze! To sell Booze, you must Stock it in an adjacent Bartender Shelf. By standing in between a stocked Bar Counter and a Bartender Shelf, you are able to serve booze easily and quickly to your customers. A customer can place an Order for a drink- you will recieve a notice and can accept or deny the request. By accepting it, you will begin to prepare the booze. For simple drinks, this is as easy as pouring it into a glass- however, for higher level Cocktails, this can take a lot more time. (Note that Bartenders can only sell drinks that are on their menu, so keep your Menu up to date! Cocktails, no matter what they actually mean in real life, in PAU simply mean a Mixed Drink. To add a Mixed Drink to your menu, you must have discovered the recipe via Experimentation. You can Experiment at your bar counter at any time- this will consume some of your Booze and Additives, make the counter and Glasses dirty, but you might discover a new Cocktail, which you can then add to your menu. Cocktails are expensive, but they supply a lot more benifit to the drinker. Benifits of Booze So, you might be wondering, why drink? Booze, aside from making your character 'happy', conveys semi-permanent boosts to your Trainer Skills, and if they're low enough to give some to your pokemon, their stats. The quality level of the booze determines three things: it's achohol quantity, it's bonus, and it's price. Higher quality booze gets you drunk a little faster, conveys a larger bonus, and costs more. But you must be careful! Drink too much Booze or Cocktails and your Drunkeness will go up too far. If this happens, you will Pass Out, losing any benifits from Drinking, and obtaining a Hangover- a NEGATIVE stat loss. The Hangover lasts longer depending on how many Booze Bonuses you had. Your Drunkeness ticks down every minute- when this happens, your bonus will fade a slight amount. Thus the key to good drinking is to keep your Drunkeness at enough to maintain your bonuses without Passing Out. In addition, while drunk, you will slur your words, see things as the wrong icon, and randomly move the wrong direction. Lol. |
