Pokeclectic Shoddy Ubers Tournament - Season 1 Participant List:
Pokeclectic is hosting another Shoddy tournament and the first for 2010, open to all members regardless of location (not just meetup participants). The format of the tournament will be Doubles Elimination, and 2 wins will be needed in to proceed to the next round. Because of this, it is up to the battling trainers to decide whether they're allowed use different teams in their different battles within that round. Of course, in each different round you are free to use a different team each time. The date set for the first rounds is Sunday 10th January 2010. All those who wish to participate must post in this thread confirming. Participant entry deadline is 6pm Sunday 3rd January, no later. Once everyone has been confirmed a ladder structure will be posted on the opening post(which you are reading now). Each round (4 in total) has 1 week each to be completed meaning that the Tournament will span over 4 weeks from Sunday 10th January - Sunday 4th Febuary. Not completing your round will result in the participant's loss of that round. If something comes up making you unable to participate, notify me or a Staff Member who can then arrange a time for the matchup, however we don't want to delay the tournament so try arrange a time early in the week and don't leave it to the last minute. --- --- --- Check the attachment below for the Tournament structure, and the current Round matchups are also below, updated weekly... Good luck to all participants!!! FINALS ROUND 4: Sunday 7th Mar - Saturday 13th Mar Midnight

The Rules *The Tournament is to be held on Shoddy Battle, on the Smogon University Shoddy Server. *Because the Tournament is Ubers, no Pokemon is banned from use, so feel free to use an entire team of Ubers. *As before mentioned, the format of the tournament will be Doubles Elimination, and 2 wins will be needed in to proceed to the next round. -It's up to the participants to decide whether they use the same team again or not, and both must agree to this beforehand. *Getting a Staff Member to watch or making sure you both post who the winner is at the end of the matchup is required, then we have proof of the winner. *Each round (4 in total) has 1 week each to be completed meaning that the Tournament will span over 4 weeks from Sunday 10th January - Sunday 4th Febuary. Not completing your round will result in your match being re-done under strict time constraints to ensure the tournament continues to run on schedule. If something comes up making you unable to participate, notify me or a Staff Member who can then arrange a time for the matchup, however we don't want to delay the tournament so try arrange a time early in the week and don't leave it to the last minute. *Anybody may participate in this Tournament, whether you attend the meetups or not is irrelavent. However, you must confirm your attendence in this Thread, as outlined in the the opening post. --- --- --- *The rules to be set for each match are as follows: -Evasion Clause: This prevents the use of moves which raise the foes Evasion, this only bans the move Double Team and Minimise. - Extended Clause: This makes currently unavailable Pokemon and Items allowed in the match. This allows the use of Arceus, because he's not officially released in all regions, he's banned under Shoddy's default rules without this clause. -Freeze Clause: This prevents more than 1 Pokemon on any trainer's team from being frozen at a time. Freezing another Pokemon will be impossible once the Freeze Clause is activated. -OHKO Clause: This prevents the use of moves that will always OHKO an opponent. They include Fissure, Guillotine, and Sheer Cold. -Sleep Clause: This prevents more than 1 Pokemon on each Trainer's team from being asleep at the same time. Moves that directly Sleep an opponent will fail when Sleep Clause is active. -Species Clause: This means that you are not allowed 2 or more of the same species in your team. This would include Arceus holding different Plates, it's still the same Species, you may only use 1 Arceus per team. -Timed Battle: This Gives each player 5 minutes of thinking time for the battle. Making your descision will stop the timer, but it will continue next move and tick down to 0:00. If the clock reaches 0:00 that trainer will loose the battle, but shoddy will let the match continue, however you still loose the match. This is put in place to keep the battles fast paced and not drag on with players being busy doing other things at the same time delaying the match. Fear not for participant who use Stall Teams, it still gives you ample time to suss out what to do, but being AFK is what Timed Battle aims to stop, not Stall... IMPORTANT NOTE: *If something technichal goes wrong during the match, you must immediately let either a Staff Member or myself know what is going on. Using MSN alongside Shoddy Battle is good for occasions like this where Shoddy may crash, or simply lag and delay your Timer causing you to loose by default. The matter will then be discussed by the Staff Members and myself and a rematch will likely be held. *In the event that a match is to be replayed for whatever reason, the players must decide whether to use the same teams and moves again or not, and a Staff Member or myself must be notified before the rematch. |

TADAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! hope you guys like it. I couldnt remember where the other topic was to post this so I decided to post it here. I was feeling the itch to give the title holder of whatever season they won to add their fav pokemon just in front of the pokeball. but yeh I do think this is it. see it was well worth the wait. if I just wasn't as busy I could be doing a lot more. Posted Image I just did a view check. it still does look readable....kind of, but I don't see why we cant make them a lil bigger. :P Posted Image Posted Image Edited by playa271, Dec 28 2009, 02:56 PM.

Wow, they're sweet playa, but I think it was the contributions thread, but that's cool, you forgot after all :P I like the big one's they'd work for sigs, I wonder if the small ones where meant for under the name like on proboards with the "Staff Member" etc. graphics, i don't know... Anyways we got a couple of members signed up for the tourney now so that's good. I'd like to see some of our overseas members sign up, but what we really need now is the deciding matter on the other thread... We need to decide on this quickly, so check out the thread using the link below, it's located in the General Pokemon Board too... http://s1.zetaboards.com/pokeclectic/topic/2704518 Edited by Cream, Dec 29 2009, 08:34 PM.

Participant entry is now over. If you haven't signed up then unfortunately you'll have to wait for next season. The opening post will be shortly updated with a tree system for all to see, outlining the structure of the tournament in which participants will view their matchups. The following discussion is advised to be about arranging matches as all the matters for tournament stucture has been organised. There's nothing stopping PM either, as it keeps this thread more organised... Check for updates. The current round will be displayed at the bottom of the opening post... --- --- --- EDIT: The Tournament matchup sheet has been created, for the record I used my calculator's random number generation app, assingned us four participants to a number from 1-4, and matched up the two pair my calculator came up with, giving us the matchups we have. First round will officially start on Sunday 10th January, and it's advised participants get the practice in within the weeks window until the tournament start. As noted in the opening post, each round has 1 whole allocated to each, meaning the tournament will span over 4 weeks with the 4 rounds we have, that's ample time to have your match, if you don't, off you go to the looser's bracket unless you've notified a Staff Member or preferably myself if there's a specific reason why you can't battle. Check the opening post for the Tournament structure and the current round will be displayed at the bottom of the opening post, updated weekly of course... Edited by Cream, Jan 3 2010, 09:55 PM.
