Each day seemed like a chore at Echo. Braxton had absolutely no desire to go to classes or be with anyone. The few people he did meet didn't quite rub him the right way. He had been doing a lot of thinking lately though. Was Echo really the right place for him to be? Was running from his problem the best was of dealing with it. He certainly had to since the consequences could be limitless with his mutant abilities. The one thing he was able to find serenity in was knowing that he wasn't the only one. He
loved that.

That was certainly the case for the gym at that time too. Braxton casually walked into the gym with mesh blue athletic shorts and a simple black tee. He wasn't trying to impress anyone and he had every intention to get sweaty. There were a few others in the room, none of whom seemed familiar. Solemnly, Brax walked over to a bench and added a generous amount of weight to bench. It had been a while since he had last lifted, yet he remained confident that he's be able to handle the challenge.

Jet too found himself in the gym. The weather outside wasn't particularly welcoming. He jogged quickly into the gym, trying to maintain a high heart rate in preparation for his workout. He noticed a few people in the gym. Most of them seemed familiar facially. One, though, was different. It was another guy that reminded him much of himself. Jet watched as the guy sat at the bench and began lifting. Out of polite instinct, Jet quickly paced over to him. "Hey, Bro." He stood by the guys head as a spotter, making sure if the weight was too great, the guy wouldn't hurt himself. "You know you should never lift without a spotter." Jet said with a slight nod and a smile, hoping to meet someone new.

Braxton had seen Jet's kind before. What usually unfolded was some kind of superiority complex. One party would find himself stronger, smarter, and better than the other person. This usually led to Braxton kicking his ass and sending the other guy's reputation down the drain. He had a feeling that would be the case here.

"I'm pretty sure I can handle it, Bro." Braxton replied in somewhat of a mocking tone.

Typically a hot head on his own, Jet surprised himself that he backed down.

"Woah woah woah?!" He said with a chuckled, . taking a step back. "I can practically see you turning green, Mr. Hulk." Jet joked with an attitude. "Excuse me for being polite." Jet blew it off. It wasn't worth it. Not a big deal. Braxton seemed a lot like him. Jet knew how to deal with people like that. He simply walked away.

This was the front that Braxton told himself he would try to suppress. Other strong men like Jet were automatically seen as threatening. Jet didn't deserve the kind of treatment that he received. In an attempt to keep things of being awkward, Braxton just let it go, hoping that the situation would just blow over. Simply put, Braxton felt bad.

Regardless, he continued with his weightlifting regiment. He was supposed to push himself a bit with thirty reps instead of his usual twenty. It didn't seem like a huge matter until he realized at twenty five that he wasn't as strong as he thought. Pushing with as much strength as he could muster, Braxton's face turned red with strain. "C'mon!" He said under his breath, losing his strength. The weight was gonna' come crashing down on him... and soon.

Jet paced over to Braxton as soon as he noticed the strain. He couldn't help but be concerned, seeing as how Braxton was lifting a huge amount. He could see the extreme exertion on his face. It was going to be too much and Jet knew it. Jet grabbed the bar without asking and assisted Braxton, hoping he wouldn't get too angry that Jet proved him wrong... and by nature Jet had to rub it in. "I hate to say it, but... I told ya' so." He chuckled playfully, knowing that Braxton was just as much of a hot head as himself.
Don't get burned.
