Exploring. No particular destination. Just a leisurely stroll. There was dead silence in the hallways. Typically, Lily might have found this peculiar. Not here though. Everything about Echo seemed quiet. Too quiet. Something was going to happen. Soon Lily thought.

As she turned through the hallways, she noticed someone at the far end walking towards her. Perhaps her first meet and greet? She snickered at the thought.

Dia slowly walked down the hall. She was definelty lost. Thankfully someone was walking towards her. She would ask this girl where her room was located in the maze of corridors. She looked friendly enough....didn't she?

Lily approached the girl. It was a long walk towards one another. Lily wore a nice tight fitting cami with dark jeans: simple enough. Her shoes had a small heel on them. They made a clicking noise through the hallway as she strode with confidence.

"Hi!" Lily said happily like a typical the girl next door.

"Hey."Dia smiled, relieved. And here she was, nervous about meeting people, when this girl was perfectly nice. She felt slightly awkward as she looked down at her toes. She was wearing her favorite blue sundress, and it was kind of frayed at the ends, and flipflops showed feet that were delicate but unmanicured. Next to the girl, she looked less than ordinary. She looked up into the girl's eyes. "My name is Dia, I'm new here."

Lily immediately noticed the girl's dress.

Hmm... She thought in a condescending way. How...... vintage....

"I'm new here, too!" Lily said with joyful excitement as if they had something in common. If only she knew how different we really are... The sad girl thought, remaining as fake as ever. "I'm Lily. From San Fransisco. Where are you from?" Lily really didn't care... In fact, she couldn't care any less. she had to start making allies. Although she had no bad intentions so far, she knew if she did that "friends" would be essential.

"Oh, Massachusetts. Did you live by the water in San Francisco??" As always, Dia's thoughts revolved around her favorite element. She loved living by the water back home because the sound of the waves had always soothed her, and wondered if she would be able to hear them from her bed that night. She then wondered what the girl's powers were...it would be impolite to ask right then, wouldn't it? She would just have to wait until they became better aquainted. Hopefully the girl wasnt a mind reader...

The conversation brought back so many memories. It reminded Lily how she got to the point she's at right now.... and it wasn't easy.

"I lived in a pretty slummy area." Lily remarked with a easy going attitude. Of course, Lily did everything in her power to escape the slums after her family had all died. Thankfully with the help of her powers, Lily was able to connive her way to a moderately wealthy life. She utilized her special abilities to sustain a living. There was no other way she could survive. She pushed thoughts into people, subconsciously forcing them to take care of Lily. These people were often one time victims. Lily'd let people take her on a shopping spree and dump them off somewhere after. She would sleep in strangers homes by pushing the idea into their heads that she was family. It wasn't always easy.

"It was very nice by the water though." She paused. "You should go sometime. You seem like you'd like it."

Dia didn't have tobe a mind reader to get that those were dark times for Lily. The look on her face said it all, and she had tried to cover it up. Feeling bad, Dia tried to make up for it with a personal fact herself. "I would love it, especially because i'm a water elemental. Wherever there's water, we live." Oh God, had she just said that out loud?? It sounded so much better in my head... "Anyway, I'd better get going, I have to find my room in this maze...I'll see you around!" Dia quickly turned and sped off, before Lily could see the blood rush to her face. So much for a new and improved Dia. As fast as she ran away from Lily, she could'nt out race her humiliation...

How pathetic. People with so much potential let their insecurities thwart them. Lily scoffed mentally. "Well, it was nice meeting you!" Lily yelped down the corridor, not sure if Dia could hear. She tried to seem as genuine as possible. Lily was always a master of deceit.

She might come in handy at some point. Gotta' see what she's capable of though. It was a nice beginning to what would hopefully turn into a fun game for Lily. With a wicked smile, Lily turned and paced away in the opposite direction. Everything was sinister about her.
