I agree with mosquito and Ziveeman. Another way to generate activity is to have contests with some fair or fun prizes.

I'd probably say word of mouth, though, advertising signatures can go a long way. ^_^

Advertise everywhere you go, put out reviews everywhere, affiliate with boards, etc. All of these will help your board to grow & flourish!
Yeah you are the king of advertising.
Although I will most likely retire if NR dies. It's just getting to be a pain to keep up doing. Some people hate what I do and see the negative sides of it more then the positives. People got to realize advertising isn't easy and sometimes you have to push with the Bulk Emails & PMs. It annoys yes, but it tells them your board hasn't croaked and it's still there. Without active members you don't have an active board. (Unless you got over 60 really good online friends and they all stay active which is a RARITY.)

Got to face facts, Sig & Banner Ads and normal advertising doesn't always work in getting members to a board. That is why I try to nab some on MSN. I want to excel to the best of my ability at what I do.

I try to justify and defend my actions but some people just can't be bothered to see my side of it. >_>
