I'm fine with bumps as long as they bring something meaningful to the conversation.
This.

I hate bumping, especially recently. Instead of helping the activity, it hurts it because the thread in question is dead and usually can't be revived except by recreating it. Cause it's unlikely that something will be added that's worth responding to enough for a member that's already posted in the thread to contribute again... most of the time.

Lenny does this from time to time and I seen it actually work in restarting a topic and get it going again as you have to think that old topics were posted when some people weren't around so you might get new input and revive it so I see how it works especially with the news stories, editorials and forum related topics.

But if you create a new thread instead, you not only allow those old members that were there to post again, but you get an extra thread in that forum, which is fine because the other thread is d-d-dead. That's how I see it. I don't really care though because I've been to a lot of boarsd with different views on this, but every board needs clear rules on it regardless of their position because a split between members thinking it's okay to bump and members thinking it's not okay is just a mess. They need to know what's "official."

I think it's totally fine. New members join and miss out on some good dicussions which may have died down, so you bump them and keep them active for them.

I'd only really bump them if you have something to say that that has to do with the topic at hand though, or use mod powers. :smurf:
This, only if they have something good to say though. XD
Yes, this. XD
