Do you think it's alright to bump topics in order to incite activity in a forum? What's your opinion? Share your thoughts

I'm fine with bumps as long as they bring something meaningful to the conversation. |

I think it's totally fine. New members join and miss out on some good dicussions which may have died down, so you bump them and keep them active for them. I'd only really bump them if you have something to say that that has to do with the topic at hand though, or use mod powers.

Depends on the level of activity. If people are going pages upon pages back to find a topic from early 2005 it's a bit ridiculous. A few weeks or heck months isn't that bad for me. edit: But, if it's a relatively small forum I don't see the harm. |

I personally dislike the bumps that are done on the ZBNB, really annoying to see that someone has made a "new" response yet turns out to be the one you read over a week ago. |

Yeah that can be annoying, which is why I prefer to actually post something instead. ![]() I don't see how bumps are made against the rules on some boards, like when it ends up locked. If someone misses a discussion then there's nothing wrong with them adding to it, unless it's like spam or something.

Persevere.

I like to see topics bumped with the ZB feature only if it is important. Post bumps are fine provided they add to the discussion. |
