Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is the sixth book in the Harry Potter Series written by J.K Rowling. The 2 and a Half hour movie was nothing short of stunning. However, following suit, it did not sufficiently cover everything in the book. The Movies started to lose their ties to the books back around Goblet of Fire, when whole Sections didn't get into the movie. However, Half Blood Prince does not disappoint. The special effects are top quality. Though the movie focuses much on romance, even the romance-haters (a.k.a. men) in the audience will not mind. As long as you follow the movies, the good news is you won't have to read the book to understand and enjoy the movie. There are a few tiny details in which reading the books would help, but these are miniscule, and will most likely only bother those who have read the books, Overall, the movie was well produced. The Adults in the Audience need not worry that it will be too kiddish, or that it will be too bad for their children. The movie is good for all who see it. I worried personally about the PG rating, thinking it would be too kiddish for me. However, the movie in many ways could have easily been PG-13 (i.e. some scary scenes). So, to those who say "only PG? Please, I'm not going to see it if it's only PG" do it ayway! Theatre Rating: PG My Rating 4½/5 |
