Two incidents were brought to the attention of the Race Officials following DTM Race 2 at Suzuka Full. Both incidents involved cars #044 and #010. To ensure complete fairness and so that there can be no accusations of bias, the incident was investigated by CSR ColourBlind, GTI Rusty GTi and Fernando Shaun, none of which were racing in the same lobby as the two drivers involved, nor have any other associations with the drivers. Incident 1 Lap on which Incident Occurred: 1 Description of Incident: Collision between cars #044 and #010 at Turn 9. Car #010 made an attempted overtake on the inside of car #044 going into this corner. However, #044 touched the left rear of #010 and, as a result, #010 was forced off the track. Decision: The 3 Investigators concluded that this was a racing incident. However, both drivers could have done more to avoid the crash. It was noted that car #044 turned in such a way that he would've cut the corner if it had not been for the collision. It was also mentioned that if the driver of car #044 had been using his mic, he would've been aware of car #010's move and could've reacted accordingly. One Investigator also noted that car #010 went in "too hot", making a gamble that was unlikely to pay off. Overall, all Investigators concluded that there was no malicious intent on either drivers' part. Incident 2 Lap on which Incident Occurred: 22 Description of Incident: Collision between cars #044 and #010 on the run up to '130R'. Car #044 got into the slipstream of car #010 on the straight. Car #044 drove into the back of car #010 due to this slipstream effect, and the collision forced both cars off the road. Decision: The 3 Investigators concluded that this was also a racing incident. However, it was again noted that if car #044 had used his mic to communicate, the incident could then have been avoided. It would've been difficult for car #010 to have forseen the intentions of car #044, and there was no deliberate blocking manouevre. Therefore, again the Investigators concluded that there was no malice in the collision. Overall Conclusion There will be no penalty issued to either driver. However, a warning is being issued to car #044 over his use of mic. Both these incidents could've been avoided if the driver had communicated/listened to communications by others. If collisions in future races involving #044 take place and it is found that lack of communication was a factor, further action may be taken. Car #010 has already recieved a warning for a number of reasons. He is aware of this, and no further action will be taken. |
