| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Magen was starting to gain on the thief, she was focused and ready to chase him as long as necessary, it was actually a wonderful feeling to be chasing after her belongings. Your average person would be upset or violent but to her, it merely felt like a game. She was the cat and this unassuming thief was but the mouse. How unfortunate for him to of put himself up against her, with her android strength and endurance. Plus her need to distract herself, he created a game for her, catch the thief it was. She wouldn't let him escape without a fight, it wouldn't be that big of a deal if she lost what was in the pocket book but she was going to get it back. As she began to get closer her smile widened into a large grin. She began to skid as he cut a short turn into an alleyway with her momentum beginning to come to an almost unexpected stop. That could not happen, she needed to be fast to catch this thief. She was so determined that she followed up by digging her hand into the side of the wall as she started to skid by, throwing herself into the smaller space. The android observed from her position as he committed acrobatics, managing his way up a fire escape onto the roof. Well two could play at that game. Magen looked at her hands and began to dig into the side of the building to make her own path up to the roof, she might not have fancy acrobatic skills but she had the vast strength that this mechanical frame could provide and by all that was holy in Israel she was planning to use what was provided for her. The thief had apparently waited for her to give up after his own display, well she was sure that after her own he was rethinking his own ideas. She turned to the thief and spoke in a normal, nonthreatening tone of voice which was soft but had a slight metallic echo, "I suggest that you give me my purse back." Magen shifted to her side as she crossed her arms over her chest, "Or we can continue this cat and mouse game, I really have all night if you like." A wide grin crossed her face. |

Fiddle was so confident that he had lost the woman that he had slowed his pace on the roof top so he could start digging around in the purse. He was proud of himself and feeling a little exhilarated. It had been awhile since he had actually been given chase and it was nice to work out the ole evasion skills again, even if it was for a short chase. But no sooner had he dipped his hand into the woman's purse did he start hearing unnerving crunching sounds behind him, from the alley he had just escaped from. Looking back over his shoulder, he was surprised to find the woman had literally climbed the wall to meet him on the roof top. Where he had once thought he was free from all pursuers, he was now stunned to find someone else in his domain. Or what he thought was once his domain. He just looked at the woman, a little wide-eyed and hunched over her purse like some goblin thief. She was cocky and her climb up the wall had earned her that. Fiddle could only look back at her purse, then her, then back to the purse. He clutched it tighter to his chest as he put the strap over his shoulder. "Mine." With that comeback, Fiddle took off again, dashing toward the edge of the roof top before leaping the gap and continuing on the adjacent building. He was not playing around this time, and he weaved around and over the obstructions on the rooftops. |

She watched as the man hunched over and gave her a look of a deer caught in the headlights, it was clear that there wasn't any sort of regret in his eyes, just amazement and disbelief that anyone managed to follow him up the building. But as she knew and he was soon to figure out if he hadn't any sort on inkling yet in that thiefly little mind of his, she was not your ordinary little damsel in distress. However Magen managed to get a good look at him before he turned tale and ran with his brief little comeback of claiming her belongings to be his. That little cretin had been the one that tried "dancing" with her in the club. Of all the things, was he following her even then to grab her purse? What sort of interest could she of caused to a thief to garner this type of attention on the streets. Perhaps when she finally caught the man he would finally spill the beans and shine some much needed light on these answers, at least one could hope. It was slightly more than a game to her now, there could have been any number or reasons or possibilities that he had been trailing her, was this all some sort of trap or settup? Or was she just managing to read far too much into this situation beyond what it really was? Just an average thief committing an average crime in Niwa. It was a place that did attract many differently skilled people. Magen began pursuit of the man, quickly following as he bolted over to the next rooftop. With the skills of a trained soldier combined with the tirelessness of her android frame she made effortless work of all the obstacles on the rooftop. She would not let anything stop her from reaching this thief. |

A quick glance over his shoulder made it abundantly clear to Fiddle that he was being pursued by no ordinary woman, maybe not even an extraordinary woman. He could have assumed that a particularly tenacious person would be able to follow him up onto the rooftops in the first place. Pulling down that fire escape ladder was not that difficult, especially after he probably yanked it loose with his climb. But the woman was leaping and jumping in stride with him! It even looked like she was catching up! More drastic measures were going to have to be taken. Fiddle started weaving over and under obstacles more, trying to break line of sight with the woman. He even dared to make a few longer jumps than he was usually comfortable with, and it was only by picking up speed that he was able to make them without falling short. But his big gamble came when they approached a terraced building. He leaped onto a terrace level with the roof he was running on, then turned to run into a large window. Using a mechanism he had set up for just an escape, he opened the window with a quick push in the right place and dove into the hallway within. Then he made a beeline for what looked liked a door to a storage closet. He opened it up, jumped inside, and closed it behind him. He had not looked to see if the woman had gotten any closer, but he thought he might have lost her. Relieved, he slumped against the door and breathed a sigh. |
