Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Jack looked over the crowd with a smile. Even though he was just performing at the Boardwalk he still always had plenty of people watching. People did love magic after all, as it gave them an escape from their boring lives, and kept them entertained. The girls in the crowd were loving him, and he certainly wasn't hating that. It was about time for him to finish for the evening. It was almost 9, and criminals usually came out at night. He had plenty of ways to escape should criminals want to target him, but to him it was smarter to just avoid them all together.

"Ladies and gentlemen! I have entertained you with card trick after card trick. Illusion after illusion and you have been very generous."

He picked up a small sack he kept on the ground close to him, that people could toss change in if they felt he deserved it. He shook the sack, and they could hear the rustling of change.

"Very generous indeed. But something's missing from this sack. Something I must have dropped before I started the show. Please, help me look."

He walked into the crowd, keeping his eyes on the ground as if he was looking for something. He bumped into at least 16 people as he made his way through the crowd. He then sighed and looked back.

"Looks like it's not here. But what's this..?"

He raised the sack, which was now completely full. He opened it, revealing wallets, jewelry, piercings, belts, and even a couple of women's panties and bras. The crowd smiled and clapped. Everyone was impressed.

"Where did all that stuff come from?"

Jack looked at the man who asked and shrugged.

"Why, from you of course."

Suddenly a few people's pants came down, as they no longer had the belt holding them up. Everyone Jack bumped into searched their wallets to find they were missing, along with their jewelry. A few women freaked out as they realized they were no longer wearing underwear. Jack winked at a random girl in the crowd, and ran away. He ran around the corner, and the crowd followed. Everyone was furious. But as they looked past the corner, Jack was gone. He'd disappeared, reappearing some 20 feet away, across the street. As he appeared he bumped into a woman by accident, dropping his sack.

"Sorry."

As he bent over to pick up the sack, the woman could see the items inside, and would then probably realize Jack had no intention of returning them to their owners. Jack smiled as he looked at the confused crowd across the street. Everyone was wondering where he'd gone, and if he was going to return.

Iris had seen what was going on out of the corner of her eye. A magician, pure and simple in nature, scamming people for their goodies. She was no saint, and for that all she did was laugh to herself. The beauty held her eyes on the man who dropped the pants of the patrons of the boardwalk that night. Her lemon drop eyes scanning him, studying him to see how he did what he did. Unfortunately, magicians were too good at what they did to get caught. For Iris that was fine, the pleasure of guessing was more enjoyable then cracking the code. The only thing that was bad about this situation, was she wasn't in cracking distance.

"Mff~!!" Iris proclaimed as she felt full force of someone slamming face first into her. Their was a slight urge to yell and punch the person in their face was halted when she saw who it was. "Oh..." The word trailed off as she looked down at the goods that the man had dropped. They were the stolen ones from the idiots across the street. Maybe she was going to get to crack something open here soon.

Iris bent over, her low cut v-neck top that outlined the laced bra, exposed eye candy to the magician. "Let me." Her tongue was a silver platter, serving up a beautiful voice with sweet words. When her hand grabbed the item that the man had dropped, she quickly stood back up and grabbed the man by his shirt and pulled him off into the space between a comic book shop and a coffee shop, both of which were closed.

"You should be more careful." She whispered into his ear gently as she handed the item she had picked off the floor for him. Iris's hand grazing across his shoulder and chest before leaning back. Her golden eyes almost to the point of glowing as she stared at him. It would make sense right about then why she had pulled the two of them into the alleyway. A screaming woman could be heard, yelling about missing her wallet and cell phone. Panic had set in and the crowd began to run in all different directions looking for the magician.

He'd get a good look at her by that point. The curves, the assets, the long black hair that was straightened down her shoulders. Even the jester like smile that crossed her face was plainly visible now. Softly biting at the corner of her lip she tucked her hands into the front pockets of her tight blue jeggings. "Stealing is only fun if you don't get caught~"

The first thing Jack noticed about the woman he had bumped into was how gorgeous she looked. She was showing off all the right places, and he wasn't hating the view, especially when she bent over to pick up the watch that had fallen out of his sack. When she grabbed him by the shirt he thought for a moment that she was going to reveal his location to the angry mob, and was prepared to tear himself away from her to run. When she pulled him further away, he realized she had no such intentions.

He couldn't help but smile at her comment about stealing only being fun when you don't get caught. It looked like he had bumped into a kindred spirit, someone who was as free of rules as he was. In response to her comment, he leaned closer with a smile.

"Let me explain to you something about magic. People always expect to see more. See them there, trying to figure out where I disappeared to. That's because they genuinely believe that I'm going to come back and return what I took. They keep hoping that it's just a part of the trick, making them believe I stole from them to give them relief when I return them. If I were just a petty thief, they would have given up the search by now. But because I'm a magician, that changes everything. They won't look this way. And even if they did, I won't be caught so easily. I do have many tricks up my sleeves."

Jack looked at the crowd once more with a smile.

"Most of them will give up in 10 or so minutes. A few will last half an hour. But there's always one believer who waits for over two hours."

Clearly Jack had often done this before, so he knew the way people thought. He had to, being a magician. He then remembered that he had company and turned back to the woman, looking straight into her eyes.

"Since you haven't revealed my location to them I'm going to go ahead and assume you aren't planning to."

He gently took her right hand in his, and raised it to his lips, kissing it, never breaking eye-contact.

"The name's Jack Wilder. Some call me Blackjack, but Jack is fine too."

Iris listened as the man spoke to her, he was cocky and she loved it. Magic to her was just a form of cheap entertainment, but street magic was much different. It was much more pleasurable to watch people get scammed. Thankfully none of them had been meta's that could easily see the tricks that he had done. Iris just smiled, though, she was glad that there wasn't someone that could. He was too pretty to have his face messed up, and she wasn't the saving type. Even for a handsome face.

"Well then you won't need company in this dirty, stinky alleyway for long then." She said with a sly smirk and a wink. He didn't seemed too eager to get rid of her, but then again Iris wasn't an idiot. She could read the signs from a mile away, and wasn't shy about commenting on them.

Iris gave a small chuckle. "Trust me, if I wanted you to be caught... You would've." The innocence she portrayed after the comment was delightful, but unneeded seeing as her attitude while saying it screamed 'sarcasm'. "My name is Iris Lang, but you can call me whatever you want, Jack~" She flirted. Whether she had true interest in the magician or not, she couldn't help but be flirtatious with any cute boy she saw. He was like a peach cobbler that she wanted to take home and eat up. Mmm.

"I haven't seen you around these parts before. New or just finding a new place to..."
She took a step forward towards him. Tilting her head off to the side a bit and biting softly at her bottom lip. There was something sexual about the way she moved, her hand reaching out and pulling out one of his playing cards from his jacket pocket. "Take from people?"

Normally Jack wouldn't let anyone take one of his cards without it being a part of a trick, but he didn't mind it one bit when Iris slipped inside his jacket to get the card. She seemed to be just as mischievous as he was, if not even more so. And she was flirtatious, which was also something they had in common. Jack wasn't really the relationship kind of guy, but he did love having fun with beautiful women. It was much simpler to just enjoy their company than actually commit to a relationship. If there was one thing Jack hated, it was jealousy. Casual bed-buddies and like-minded women was what he liked.

He looked at the crowd across the street. Most of them had already given up and gone home, proving the first part of his prediction right. He smiled and focused his attention back to Iris, taking the card from her. It was the 4 of diamonds. Jack shook his head.

"Such a poor card, don't you think?"

He handed the card back to her, facing down. When she'd flip it over it had turned into the queen of spades.

"The black suits you better."

Jack leaned against the wall behind him.

"So Miss. Lang. What brings you to the Boardwalk, other than pulling unknowing magicians into a dark creepy alley? One might think you have... Nefarious plans."
