Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Yoshiya sighed heavily. If there was ever a day in his life he could give a medal to for severe boredom, today was quickly earning it's place in the top five. Maybe even top three. A recent cold front had hit Niwa with all the rage and ferocity of a rabid were-shrew on crack. but Kanon had still made him come into work today. For someone with such a beautiful and statuesque body, she could be quite unforgiving when she wanted to be. "And here I thought all beautiful women had cute personalities and deep reservoirs of kindess..." Yoshiya sighed in an aside to himself. "Yeah right, that'd make me one naive fucker."

A book flew across the room in a flutter of pages and smacked into the back of Yoshiya's head. "Language." Kanon had appeared from inside her little office in the back of the cafe just in time to hear Yoshiya's uncouth filth. "At least while on the clock." Her countenance remained calm in almost any event making her seem uncaring or unfeeling. Neither were true, as Yoshiya had come to learn. It merely was that Kanon had a much subtler way of emoting than most people could pick up on. Here grey eyes slid from Yoshiya to the rest of the store. Dead.

"Aw c'moooooon. It's a ghost town in here! Shouldn't I be at least able to let my tongue loose a little?" He moved next to her and wraped an arm around her waist. "I'm sure you'd enjoy it if I did~" His comment was met with a disapproving "Mmn," and a sharp elbow to the gut.

"I'm going out for a bit. Watch the store till I get back. If it's stll slow by then...go home. That is all." With the flutter of her coat as she wrapped it around herself she was gone, leaving Yoshiya by himself in the empty computer filled room. For a short while Yoshiya busied himself with making sure various snacks were stocked, running diagnostics on their computers, and other general forms of tidying. After about an hour had passed, boredom finally eroded Yoshiya's will far enough that he got on one of the computers in the back and began working on coding and backing up their already strong firewalls. Practice. If you know how something is built, you know how to take it apart.

It was days like this that Iris felt like committing murder.

The air was crisp and sharp like needles on Iris's face. Every step she took in the cold made her wonder why she felt the need to be this deep undercover. The data they had received coming from a network in a small shop in Niwa caught the captains attention, which made it her problem. Seeing as though she was the noobie to the force, they sent her to do such an easy, boring routine check up. Whatever was going on wasn't necessarily breaking the law, but because the task force had their own computer genius, it stuck out like blood in the snow. Whoever had the ability to do what they were doing here in this shop, caught the eyes of the police. Did Iris honestly care? No, not in the slightest. In all honestly this was what she did for fun and sometimes for a small paycheck. However, to keep the persona of a goody-to-shoes cop that always did what was asked of her, she needed to do this without question.

Plus, she could do her own kind of recon. Find out if this person could be a threat to her in anyway. Niwa had all sorts of meta-humans. Finding the ones that could expose her for a profit was something high on her list of to-do's.

The book store was quite when Iris entered, not a soul to be seen or heard. She could've easily caused the place to lose all power and search the place without a warrant. No, that was too easy. There was someone there, she could feel the electricity pulling from the backroom, as if someone was using a computer or maybe cooking something in a microwave. They both gave off quite the amount of electricity. "Hello?" Her fluent Japanese was soft, and sensual, it definitely didn't warrant for worry.

Whenever the man, if he did, immerged he'd be standing in front of a uniformed office. Though she filled it out very nicely. The three top buttons on her shirt were undone and she unzipped the remainder of her heavy jacket. Her lemon drop eyes almost seemed to glow in comparison to her jet black air which was like silk running down her shoulders and back. Iris's complexion was that of an angel, which was ironic, she was anything but.

"No-no, that's not right. I gotta do it like this..." Yoshiya mumbled to himself, deeply caught up in his coding. He furrowed his brow at the screen and chewed his tongue; a longtime habit of his that often signaled when something wasn't going quite like he planned. It was almost as if the network was fighting him over the improvements he was trying to add. 'Seriously, why does it have to get so hard in certain parts like this?' Yoshya could feel his frustration build up and the urge to lash out at the computer made itself apparent. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. No use in getting angry, it wouldn't make his job any easier. In all honesty it would only make things harder for him.

Deciding to take a little break, Yoshiya pushed his chair back and stretched his arms and legs. "Hello?" Ah, finally a customer! maybe things wouldn't be so boring around here! Though who in their right mind would go outside on a day like this? Then a creeping fear clutched his chest. What if more people came?! He wouldn't be able to go home early! Ah well...more money that way, he guessed. Sides, this might just be one game-crazed person. Surely Kanon could handle that, right?

He made his way towards the front where he was greeted by the site of a lady. A very attractive lady at that. It was almost a shame she was police woman..almost. Yoshiya did love a sexy woman in a uniform, and she more than fit the bill. A small part of him couldn't help but worry, however. It had been longer than he thought Kanon was gonna be out for, and all of a sudden the police are here. Did something happen to his boss? Was she in trouble? Or was this lady a stripper who got the wrong address? ...better keep that last one to himself, just in case.

"Hello, officer. How can I help you today?" Even if she was an officer of the law, he couldn't help but let his voice get a little smooth. "I wouldn't hazard a guess that you're here to play any games, are you?" He leaned forward on the counter and watched her while waiting for her response. Cops had always been kinda awkward for him. They were so serious, so...'I-got-a-stick-up-my-butt' about some things that he wondered if they ever had any time to cut loose. If she were just the same as all the others, then this would probably be a short conversation.

'He isn't the owner of this shop. Though, I believe my womanly charms work better on men anyways.'

Iris held her eyes on him. He was handsome, which was saying a lot considering the place she was standing in. Nerds and fat men that sat in their basements all day playing World of Warcraft seemed to be the theme to this place. Sadly Iris had never been interested in the ethics or, rather, playful aspect of video games. She loved to hotwire them and have them explode every so often to fuck with people, but she never picked up a control and played. Though she'll never admit it, that motion stuff was pretty awesome. Virtual reality was also something she hoped one day she could try... but that was the extent of her love for video games.

A smile crept across her face. "Please call me Iris. No need for formalities here." Although most police officers love to be called 'Officer (insert last name here)', Iris felt it was more personal to give first names. It made people trust you better. "Unfortunately no I'm not here to play these lovely games, I'm here on busy." Even though those weren't the words he was hoping for, they didn't seem uptight. She seemed down to earth, and one would venture as far as to say she seemed lacks.

Iris took a step towards him and rested her hands in her front pocket and leaned off to one side. Taking a deep breath, her chest extended as she looked around. "First lets start off with your name. Then, we can go from there." Cops in general were intimidating. It was their uniform that did it. Though, hopefully this man felt a little at least with how Iris stood there and smiled at him. Beauty always seemed to make people comfortable, that and food. Unfortunately she had no food to offer him..

Yet.

He couldn't say he was surprised when she refused the offer. She didn't really look like the type of girl who liked to play video games anyways. She kinda looked like...

No time for thoughts; she was speaking again. Her name... He couldn't help but feel a little disappointed she didn't say ’officer so and so'. There was something sexy about the authority the term gave a woman. But then again Yoshiya found a lot of things sexy. If it has a skirt and is female it has probably caught his eye. All that being said, Iris was a more seductive answer and allowed for a more comfortable air to come between them.

Of she were here on business, it must not be urgent business for her to subtly flirt the way she had been. He had seen it, the way she looked him over when he first greeted her just as he was sure she had seen him eye her all over. But it made him feel better than there was no emergency, and that Kanon was alright, just being her usual slow and methodical self. He visibly relaxed a little bit. ‘Glad she's safe. I don't wanna have to run this place by myself...blech.'

He gave Iris his full attention then. “Yoshiya Kitaniji, at your service...and I'm told my service is good." He winked. Oh god, had she been a normal cop his ass would be so dead by now. But she seemed to be a fairly lax gal so far, so what's wrong with having a little fun?

"Mmm, Mr. Kitaniji. It's a pleasure." The corner of her lip curled. It was a name she wouldn't soon forget. Though, that wasn't to be mistaken as him having some importance to her. It was more of a gift. Iris could remember the hardest of names, but thankfully Yoshiya Kitaniji seemed like a simple enough name.

Shifting her golden eyes away from him, Iris looked around the store. Everything seemed in place, the only thing out of place was the fact that there weren't any customers. Now, she'd understand if it were say a school day, but it was the weekend. Maybe a cops presence was scaring away all of the customers. "I don't want to alarm you, because you nor your boss have done anything wrong." She said moving her hand up and tucking it into her front pocket. "Do you have a computer set up in your office by any chance?" It was a very simple, understandable, question. She was there because they had caught a glimpse of some form of hacking software coming from this building. (I'm calling it that because I'm not sure what to call it lol)

"Of course I don't have a warrant or anything, I'm here just asking simple questions." Iris was extremely well spoken. The fact was, she could get most of what she wanted by just talking. Though in person, she could unbutton her blouse a few buttons and get whatever she wanted that way too.

Taking a step towards Yoshiya she pulled out a pen from the pocket she had tucked her hand away in. With the opposite had she pulled a small pad of paper out from the shirt pocket on her chest. Her eyes meeting his once more, waiting for a response. Iris wanted to see what they had here, but she wouldn't push him. If he denied her, she had reasonable doubt to get a warrant to search the store.

Was it all that serious?

Naa.

While she stole a glance at the store, Yoshiya checked the clock on the wall. Where was that woman...? His finger twitched in annoyance. Ah well! If she wanted to stand him up, that was fine; he had better things to do such as entertain the bombshell in front of him. As she asked her question, he couldn't help but grin slightly. Ah that. It wasn't the first time the police had sniffed around their network. Kanon set up a good system here, and it stood to reason that someone who understood enough to make a defense like that would also know enough to alarm Niwa's finest. Yoshiya wasn't new to this dance, nor would it be his last. "We would happen to have one in the back office, yes. Gotta keep eberything in order of course."

His eyes closed, but the confident smile remained on his face. Officers always tried to get info while saying they didn't have a warrant, but he knew that was just a fancy way of saying, 'I don't have one yet, but if you refuse, I'll come right back with one.' Denying entry always made you look guilty, innocent or not. He opened his eyes to stare directly into hers. "There is absolutely nothing wrong with a few simple questions. A lot of...good...can come from simple questions." ''Like what kind of underwear are you wearing? Or shall we find out how high your voice can go?'

Yup, Yoshiya was a perv, but he was proud of it.

"I can show you the office if you like? It's a bit more cozy in there~." He winked. Even if she found the programs Kanon used, they didn't have a history of attempting to hack into other networks. At least not an archive that was saved onto the actual shop's computer. The shop's computer more or less acted as the gateway, with Kanon's personal computer acting as they key. Only when the two were working in tandem could the police find the smoking gun, so to speak. Luckily, Kanon always kept her personal comp on her at all times. If all went according to good luck, she'd be gone for a while longer, and he and this lovely luscious lady would be free to tryst about as much as they pleased.
