Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

"9:55 ... Five more minutes"

Laura jumped up onto the counter and grabbed hold of comic book and set it into her lap. There wasn't anything for her to do until they closed and there weren't any customers to attend to, so Laura was pretty much going to kill five minutes by reading the new super girl comic she had just received that morning. Things were beginning to get back to normal, at least slightly. After the fun times with Tatsuo in the forest, she had decided to take a break from saving men in distress.

She hadn't seen Tatsuo since the incident, but she did give him the means to find her once again. That was if he wanted to. There was no forcing him to come and find her, or anything. She was sure that he may even hate her after what had happened. Granted Scarlett was the one that had hurt him the worse, but at least he survived. He had the red head to thank for that.

Chuckling softly thinking about him and the incident, she flipped the page and took a deep breath. " 'In another life~ You'd be my guy. We'd keep all our promises; us against the world~' " She was singing softly to herself. " 'The one that got away...' " The words would be hard for anyone to hear, almost impossible, but the melody was hearable from the door. It was nice, very smooth.

Laura wore a shirt that had Thor on it, with a small bubble that wrote 'this is my hammer, there is no other like it'. Black leggings hugged her legs and red boots wrapped up her calves. Her long brunette hair was straightened today, unlike other days were she left it slightly wavy.

"Four minutes..."

It was nine fifty-nine, and the door swung open. The man stepping inside the store looked very different from the one she'd seen almost die a while back; the one whose life she had saved. Clean and shaven, dressed rather sharply in a long black coat, his sunglasses still on and not a drop of blood on his face.

Tatsuo smiled faintly as he spotted her reading on top of the counter. She however looked the same despite wearing a lot more clothes this time.

He stood there for a short moment, looking at her. He wasn't even sure why he'd even come after what happened. Tatsuo hated appearing vulnerable before others, especially women, let alone pretty girls. That day there were three of them, watching him almost die like a helpless loser... and naked; them saving him instead of the other way around. That went beyond any and all possible fears he might have of losing face.

Now here he was, meeting the one person who had caused it all, and yet it all he wanted was to be near her.

"Hello Laura. These... are for you."

Flowers. Him of all people was bringing flowers to a girl. He wasn't sure what it meant, but he told himself it was better than writing a thank-you note on a hallmark card.

The door swinging open and Laura tossed her comic book into the air and got to feet. Why it had been thrown open like that was beyond her but she was ready for whatever it was to walk through the door. Thankfully she wouldn't have to beat someone up or even show someone around, it was Tatsuo. Not only was it him, but it was a hand full of flowers. Laura wasn't particularly the flower kind of girl, baseball tickets or some new gear to hike with, would've probably suited her better. However she wasn't one to turn down a sweet gesture. That was, if they even were for her.

"T-Tatsuo.." She said in surprise.

Come to find out they were for her, and she'd move towards him and take them as he extended them to her. They'd die within a few days, that was if she made sure to replace the water ever twelve or so hours. It wasn't like she couldn't have them survive for longer, it was useless seeing as though they were already on a short life span. "Thank you, I'll put these in water in a moment. A card with the words 'thank you' on it would've sufficed." The irony. "But I appreciate the gesture nevertheless."

Turning her attention back up to him from the flowers, she gave him a sweet smile. "Did you come here just to give me these flowers? I've got to admit, I'm surprised. "

"Are you really?"

Bullshit. She knew he'd eventually show at her door.

Tatsuo was glad she put those away though. It had been embarrassing carrying that thing out in the streets but the lady at the gift shop insisted they were the very best thing he could get a young girl as a token of gratitude. She kept winking as if it was some sort of secret. Stupid flowers... of course the card would be a better call. Then again, he wasn't fond of writing notes either.

Tatsuo strolled past her a few steps, looking at the stuff in her shop and not making much eye contact. It was a sort of awkward situation, but one he had no desire to avoid. In all honesty this wasn't like him at all. Given the situation Tatsuo would have been happy not to see those involved in that incident ever again. But this girl... there was something about her that made him burn inside; he just had to see her again.

"Of course I didn't come just to bring you those."

He turned to look at her once more. She looked pretty... just as he remembered her; despite looking like a dork, that is. She wore some cartoon on her shirt, but her body still looked amazing under it.

"I came to take you on our second date... since the last one didn't really go so well."

He smirked a little.

No guy had come back to see her, so yes she was surprised.

Even more surprising he was wanting to take her out on a second... date; wait what? "You're funny, remember that wasn't a date." Laura said with a chuckle. Her hands brushing at her sides and resting at her hips. Tatsuo looked much better without blood splattered across his body and holes throughout his body. Maybe it was why she starred for a moment. This was the first time she had seen him without death pulling him to his side. Her emerald eyes gazing up and down his body, it definitely looked like she was checking him out. Whether or not that were the case, it was how it appeared.

She snapped out of it though, and shook her head. "I don't really do dates. I'm not particularly good at them." The close was winding down, and it was just about time to close her doors. "Last time I had a dinner date it was spur of the moment thing. Plus, I was kind of lied into it..." Laura shifted her gaze away and pondered for a moment. The men in this city were quite strange. Thankfully she fit right in.

Chuckling a bit she took a few steps past Tatsuo and went to the front door. She wasn't afraid to leave him in while she did her closing duties. The injuries he had sustained would still be fresh, so if he tried anything--not that she believed he would--she had somewhat of an advantage. "Let me close up and then maybe you can walk me home." She didn't want to throw him out, or be mean. Laura was just one of those complicated situations that not a lot of guys wanted to deal with. So having some guy show even the slightest bit of interest, just like Jin, blew over her head like it was nothing.

"You can ... stand somewhere if you want I don't know."
She said moving towards him once again to walk back into her office.

"You're funny, remember that wasn't a date."

"That's your word against mine. I don't know you well enough, so I'm going to take my word for it."

He smiled as he saw her totally checking him out. Kinda strange considering she'd already seen all the goods... but maybe she'd liked what she saw? He was tempted to say 'I'm up here' but refrained. There'd be plenty of time for bedroom jokes... at her bedroom.

"I don't really do dates. I'm not particularly good at them."

Tatsuo took his sunglasses off, hoping she wouldn't notice. He realized he probably looked kinda stupid given the hour, but in this city it was a necessary thing sometimes.

"Good at dating? It's not like it's a job, Laura."

It was Tatsuo's turn to chuckle; she was a dork. A lovely, delicious dork.

"Let me close up and then maybe you can walk me home."

"Sure. If that's what you fancy, a walk home it is."

Tatsuo kept on smiling. Taking her home on the second date... he liked where this was going.

"You can ... stand somewhere if you want I don't know."

He did. Followed her and stood leaning on the office's door frame, looking at her. Boy she was a beauty. A little rough around the edges, and most definitely a tomboy (if he didn't know better he'd probably think she was a lesbian), not the girly kind he was used to, and that was somehow a great turn on. The fact that she seemed so oblivious about his advances made it even more interesting.

"I hope you don't mind. I've been... thinking about you a lot, and seeing you again well... it's nice."

He acted nice and somewhat shy, but he was nothing more than a wolf in sheep's skin.

Maybe she was oblivious to him coming onto her. Who could blame her, honestly. Growing up in a cabin, being homeschooled, the only interaction with a male was her father, and on top of that she was looked at as a freak by anyone that knew her. It was difficult to say the least for her to understand the aspects of flirting. Dating, flirting, having SEX all seemed like a job to her. A job she needed to learn how to do it. The closest to understanding relationships, flirting, dating was from books. Those were pretty descriptive, however they weren't the real thing. She had hoped to find someone that understood where she was coming from. Though, let's be honest, what kind of guy would really understand?

His comment about thinking about her, and seeing her again, it made her smile. "Well I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about you. Not knowing if you were alive or dead worried me." Even if the last time she saw him it looked like he was going to survive. "It's nice to see that you're up and moving about." The fact he followed her to the front desk didn't bother her. She opened up the register and began counting the money.

"Honestly I had hoped to see you. That doesn't mean this was any less surprising." Her words were innocent, but they were vague. She had wanted to see him again, and thankfully she did--and under MUCH better circumstances then the last time they bumped into one another. Much less blood.

Glancing up at him, her emerald eyes meeting his. "So yeah..." Her pearly whites bare as she smiled big. Then returned her focus onto counting down the registers. "How've you been?"

"Alive, thanks to you."

Another lie. She had tried her best, and he appreciated that. Scarlett did as well, though her not being a real doctor or possessing x-ray vision that he knew of made him suspect she'd done more damage than actually helping. The team of surgeons had tried their best too.

None of them were the reason he was still alive today. But there's nothing wrong with a little white lie, right?

He waited for her to finish counting her money, then stepped closer. His hand grabbed hers gently and squeezed it softly as he smiled a faint, almost sad smile of embarrassment at her.

"I know I did not show it then... but I really appreciate all you did for me, Laura. I know I was... less than pleasant then, and for that I apologize."

His eyes were fixed on hers as he spoke.

Laura couldn't help but laugh a bit. She honestly had just kept him alive long enough to get him actual help. Maybe dragging him into that cave wasn't the smartest of things, but at least she got a nice sight out of it. It'd be a day he'd never forget that was for sure.

It didn't take her long to count the money, and when she was finished the grasping of her hand put her off guard. A small gasp escaped her lips and she took a step back. Though it didn't matter, her hand still wrapped in his, she stared back at him. His words and smile had her smiling herself. He didn't need to apologize for how he acted, she would've probably done the same thing if death was knocking at her door.

"It's alright, Tatsuo, really." Her hazel eyes softly gazing into his. "I understand the kind of position you were in, and how you reacted was not surprising.." She didn't need to look up to Tatsuo, they were about the same height. So when she took a step towards him they stood at eye level.

Clueless and out of the loop, she moved her other hand up and rested it over his that held hers, she chuckled. "Are we going to stand here holding each others hand and staring at one another, or am I going to close up shop?"

"Let's stay holding hands. As far as I'm concerned they can come in and rob the whole store. I'll give them my wallet too if that means we don't have to move."

Tatsuo smiled. He wasn't particularly good-looking in fact, he was rather plain. Just an average Joe when it came to his face. He was however, a man with experience and he knew when and how to be charming.

"Now tell me, are you really going to just let me walk you home after I came all this way just to see you? Women can be so cruel when they know a guy's crazy about them."

He cocked his head to one side and raised an eyebrow, staring at her intently.
