| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? "Scarlett ~ Tall chai latte with two pumps vanilla and soy milk." The familiar voice of the barista echoed into the red heads ears. Normally a smile and a thanks would follow the calling of her name but nothing came to the nice lady behind the counter. Holding her drink to her body she stepped from the coffee shop. The cold brisk air hissing against her skin. It was still winter time but at least the snow had began to disappear. Some corners of the street still had the white fluff, but other than that it hadn't fallen for a few days so there wasn't much to see. Eyes were on Scarlett as soon as she started walking down the Kogano Financial District's avenue. It was odd to see someone in a pencil skirt and short white button up during the middle of winter and at eight in the morning. It was barely over ten degrees, but yet she seemed comfortable. It was hard to miss her, that was for sure. The past couple of days had been rough beyond words. First the mission to kill the Empress had been unsuccessful, second her best friend Fiora had been killed in the battle, thirdly Fiora's boyfriend almost killed her and lastly-- no, she couldn't continue to dwell on what was going on. It was blinding her from what needed to be done in the future. Silas needed to be dealt with, Wraith still needed to be freed, the Empress needed to be killed and on top of all of that Fiora's funeral had to be done. How could one person take on so much and still be sane? Who said she was sane? "Excuse me ma'am are you registered to vote?!" These people with their clip boards. Sneaking up on individuals that aren't paying attention could get them hurt. Scarlett's fingers gripped at her drink, popping the top and busting the bottom of it completely open. The hot drink spilled to the ground, all over her hands and down her shirt. Jerking her head towards the man that now slowly backed way, teeth bare at him. Frustration for her drink, her hands engulfed in flames as she raised her fist as if ready to throw the first blow. "Come on now, you're more civilized then this." The voice of Fiora echoed in her ear. Her bright sapphire eyes shifted from the individual and glanced over the crowd that had surrounded her. Pyromancers were known for being hot headed, and this was just proving that indefinitely. Without a word or action, she dropped the fire in her hand and pushed past the people in her way and quickened her step into her office building. The drink that had spilled on her shirt had already dried, but a large brown stain was still visible down the front side. Thankfully she had assistance to get her a new shirt. Which, once she got to the top floor of the building, she called for Jessica to go and retrieve a new one for her. People knew not to question what was going on with Scarlett, and by the look on the red head's face it was obvious NOT to ask what was going on. Only her and Jessica were there that early, and when Jessica ran out of the office and took the elevator down, Scarlett pushed her butt against the secretary desk and let out a heavy sigh. Kicking off her heels she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Nothing comes easily for me, what a fucking curse..." She said between her teeth. Not hearing the elevator 'ding' off to her right. |

Well this was ironic to say the least. Whether she was pleasant or not, she was actually have a conversation with him. Asking him questions about what he wanted, she assumed that was what he wanted. She wasn't known for her sweetness, beauty maybe, but what most of all she was known for was she got the job done. Everything, except for the attempt on the Empresses life excluded, she had completed and gotten done with perfection. If this Blaze fellow wanted to learn how to be a great pyromancer he had come to the right place. Whether Scarlett herself was the best, he'd for sure get the best--probably worse considering what she'd do to him--training there was in Niwa. He'd walk out of her office, but Scarlett would soon follow. The reason that Jessica didn't say anything to the man was because she was focusing on Scarlett who had dropped her hand and let fire melt into a whip. "Now that I want to help you walk away. Don't think that I will be nice to you just because we are of the same race (elemancer). We pyromancers are known for being hot headed and rash, if you can't take a little harsh criticism maybe you need a softer trainer." She knew that most pyromancers, actually all of them, were more or less immune to fire. So when she did, what she did, Scarlett knew that she'd not hurt him--too much. Pulling her hand back she clashed her whip across the hall and snatched hold of his wrist and tugged him backwards. Not too hard, just enough to turn him back to face her. The fire was like lava, melting across his skin and falling down to the ground. It'd feel, at least to him, like something was warming his wrist up. To others it would've melted their skin in seconds. The grip soon loosened and she snapped it to the floor. "I've had this office completely laced with a coating of non-flammable liquid." Her whip hissed as it touched the cold hardwood floor below her. "So, how about you show me something impressive." Scarlett's eyes shifted to Jessica, who got the message completely and rushed out of the room. "Don't insult me by creating fireballs and not throwing them at anything." She was a hard ass but god she was 'bad' ass too. Scarlett stood there with a smirk across her face and her fiery whip clinched in her hand. Her sapphire eyes seemed to flame on too, melting as she was ready for him to prove he was worthy of being trained by her. |

Zane felt a tug at his wrist as he was pulled back a bit to face Scarlett once more. Looking down he could see a whip of fire around his wrist. That was surprising. He hadn't expected Scarlett to be able to make her flames tangible. That seemed like a whole new brand of magic. It didn't hurt, but he could feel the warmth coming from the whip. He had never really experienced the feeling of heat, as his body was impervious to the feeling to a certain degree. She was clearly able to produce hotter flames than he could resist. She pulled back the whip and went on about how he was now supposed to impress her, and something about a fireball being insulting. He furrowed his eyebrows. He really couldn't understand this woman. He also felt a bit insulted by her attack. Did she think herself a lion tamer? Zane was no zoo animal to be toyed with. "I have no desire to 'impress' you. To me my ability is not about appearances or flashy moves. I have not come here to learn your style of pyromancy. I have come to nurture my own. If you can't respect that then you are unfit to teach me. I'm not going to stand here and mold my flame into weapons. My fire isn't tangible so it can't push or pull objects, nor am I a weapon user so even if I were to make a weapon like your whip, I wouldn't know the first thing about wielding it." Zane picked up his zippo and lit it, using his pyromancy to increase the flame and separate it from the lighter. He returned the zippo to his pocket, and used the fire floating in front of him to coat his fists with fire. It almost looked like he was wearing gauntlets of living flames. "If I were to call myself anything, it would be a Taekwondo practitioner. When I find myself in danger I'm always able to get out of it using my body. It is the only weapon I need. So I figure the best way for me to incorporate my fire into my fighting style is if I do this, coat my fists with fire to make them more deadly. If it does not impress you, I don't give two shits about it, but this is how I best see fit to use my ability effectively." He looked down at his fire gauntlets, and at her flame whip. If anyone were to walk past they would no doubt assume that a fight was about to happen. Maybe they would be right. Zane had no idea what kind of training Scarlett had in mind, but if she wanted to test his fighting skills Zane would be more than happy to comply. The woman got on his nerves, and he would be happy to show her her place. |

"You should always want to impress your teacher. Whether you 'desire' to or 'not'." Emphasizing the words 'desire' and 'not', she seemed to taunt him more then before. However, it wouldn't matter, as he seemed to be ready to start a fight in her office, the sounds of her elevator doors dinging, would cause her to lower her guard and dropped her fire-whip. Scarlett moved to the side a bit and put her hands behind her back. Behind Zane were four men in business suites, all of which were holding briefcases. They didn't seem shocked at what they had seen for a moment when they entered the office of Ms. Rose. "Boys." Scarlett cleared her throat and stepped off to the side. Jessica popped her head out from behind the counter and stood at a stand still. The red head turned to the blonde who was slowly moving from behind her desk. "Please take Qi Lu and his men into the conference office and get them some tea." Putting a smile on her face she turned back to Qi and bowed her head. "You're early. Like.." Pulling her arm up and looking at her wrist watch, she clicked her tongue and shook her head. "Thirty-minutes early." If Zane didn't know who Qi Lu was, he was the vice president currently working for Microsoft. They were looking for a deal to make with Scarlett and her company for their new line of ... investment. Though, that wasn't any of his business, but that should show the kind of people that walked in and out of her office. "We prefer early. On time is late." His Chinese was fluent, and thankfully Scarlett could understand him. "I'll be there shortly.." Their eyes would shift to Zane before moving past the two of them and going back towards the conference office. Jessica shortly following. The red head sighed and put her head back. "I'll train you." She said after a second of silence. Her sapphire blue eyes opened as she found his gaze. "However I expect lunch each time we do it, girl needs to eat." |

As the men stepped out of the elevator, Zane made his flame gauntlets disappear. It wasn't that he minded them knowing he was a meta. He just didn't want to wave his fire in anyone's face. Her words confused him slightly. He'd never felt the need to impress anyone who taught him in the past. His Taekwondo Master was impossible to please anyway, so Zane didn't even bother trying. He just followed his training schedule as presented to him. Scarlett clearly had different teaching methods. The men spoke Chinese. Zane didn't know a word of Chinese, so it annoyed him slightly to be the only person in the room who didn't know what was going on. Well, maybe the secretary didn't speak Chinese either. He had no idea who these men were, but he couldn't help but assume their arrival meant the end of his meeting with Scarlett. She was a busy woman, and it appeared as so her next appointment had arrived. She agreed to teach him, but only if he agreed to take her out to lunch each time they did so. Zane didn't really have a problem with that deal, so he nodded his head. "Very well, lunch it is. But it does appear as though you're busy right now. If you like I can return after your meeting with the gentlemen, unless your entire day is packed." He still found Scarlett annoying, but at least she had agreed to training him, which was the best case scenario. He'd gotten what he wanted. "Oh, and thank you for agreeing to help me. I'll be sure to do my best to follow your instructions." |

Scarlett clapped her hands together. "Well perfect it's settled then." There was a smile creeping across her face. He had no idea what he was getting himself into when he asked for her to be his trainer. It didn't matter if he was immune to fire (more or less) he was going to feel the sting of her whip during training. It would be fun, not only for him but for her. There were moments standing there looking at him she wanted to say 'fuck these Asian men' and just grab him and start training right there. However self control and the welfare of her company held her back. "Tomorrow, five o'clock. There's an old abandoned, I believe it was once a school or something, meet me there. Dress for the occasion." With that she turned from him and headed towards the conference room. She literally had to pull herself away from Zane. Oh how she was going to enjoy herself. She needed to beat someone up after everything she had been through... End thread |
