| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Did she blame herself for her death? Yes, and she probably would for quite some time... It hadn't even been twelve hours, no it had been much less then that. Everything that could've gone wrong had, and in the end nothing had come out positive of the night for Scarlett. The Empress had gotten away, Wraith was still trapped, and to top it off Fiora was now gone. Granted Scarlett wasn't going to allow anyone to take the body and put it in the ground at least of yet. Money could do wonders, but it couldn't bring the dead back to life. She had been pondering how to find someone that had the meta- abilities to bring the dead back to life, but the odds of finding one in time for her body not to decompose would be completely impossible. As much as she wanted her, a friend, to return to the living there was nothing she could do. Well, not for Fiora. The least she could do was tell Silas of her passing. If something would've happened to her, she would have hoped that one of her fellow triad members that knew her would have the gull to tell Wraith of her death. This was what she could do. Even if Silas wasn't someone that Scarlett particularly thought was right for Fiora, or anyone in that matter, he deserved to know she was gone. There hadn't been sleep for Scarlett. She rarely cried, but in a moment like this it was hard not to shed a tear. Especially when she positively identified the body for police. Though as difficult as it was, she had to be strong. There was still so much to be done, this was just one of those rough steps that had to be taken. Knocking on Fiora's front door, just to give Silas a heads up someone was coming in, she used Fiora's key to open the front door and stepped through the entrance way. "Silas?" Scarlett was a tough cookie, even now it would be hard to tell anything was wrong from her voice. Though one look at her, the dark circles, the red tent that clouded her eyes, the desperation in her expression, it was written that something wasn't right. If she was right about Silas, he'd shake his head and be upset for a moment. Though she didn't know him well, his type didn't seem to morn over the loss of someone close to them. Little did she know. "It's Scarlett." She turned and closed the door and took a deep breath before turning back around to look for him. |

The sounds of bone cracking always gave Scarlett the chills. He was giving her goosebumps that would probably be permanent for quite some time. Silas was a sick, twisted man that she wished she never had the honor of meeting. Horror was not something that came to Scarlett so easily, but the sounds of him walking behind her definitely scared her. She'd wanted him to give up, she didn't want to have to burn Fiora's home to the ground, but this man was giving her no choice! The feeling of his hands wrapping around her neck caused her to jump, without a second though her right hand reached up to try and take away his grasp he had on her neck away. He was strong, so strong that she had no chance of physically removing him in this manner. Rude. Dangerous. He was everything she was before meeting Wraith. Vial. Destructive. Nasty. She would've seen herself with someone like him if not for the humanity she still had within her. He was the essence of ... evil. Plain and simple, he had no reason to kill her. Even if it were revenge for Fiora, it still held no grounds to kill Scarlett. He was mad. "L-Let...GO!" Scarlett barely muttered through her teeth. Her hand that now wiggled its way between her neck and Silas's hand began to heat before bursting into flames. Even if he couldn't be killed, or whatever -- healed extremely fast -- he had to feel some sort of pain. His hand would begin to boil almost instantly, and if he didn't move his skin would begin to melt like the inside of a grilled cheese. She even brought her legs back and kicked at his crotch; every effort to get him off. However, doing so caused no footing if he let her go. She'd fall straight to the ground, front first without leverage. And with only one arm active, catching herself was going to be difficult, if at all possible. |

As Silas held Fiora by her neck he extended his arm as far out as he could, distancing her from him a little so he could see how to respond if she struggled. Silas had a twisted smile on his face. He had been calm for a really long time, but the idea that he was going to kill someone did give him a lot of pleasure. It also calmed him down as he realized he would probably be one step closer to her goal after she died. His grip firm, his hand closing, almost making it impossible for Scarlett to breathe. He heard her scream and he merely scoffed at her until he felt the heat she was emitting towards his hand. At first he fought against the pain, trying to just kill her there, however he wouldn't be able to hold on. He would literally toss Scarlett across the room, against the wall and shake his hand as it started to recover. His arm was charred however it was going back to normal over the course of the next few minutes. (because i threw you id assume the last part didn't happen) Silas would slowly walk over towards Scarlett after getting a butcher knife in the kitchen. "Forgive me...I didn't plan on killing you so soon. Honestly for a brief moment in time I believed that maybe I'd be at peace. But that was foolish to just think the world would stop moving just for me. So you have to die...Please don't resist because if you don't die today and you get away. I will hunt you down for the rest of your life, I will kill you and everything you love eventually. And even if you escape me you can't escape time. You will turn to dust and fade into nothingness just like the rest of all creation.", Silas said. "I've been around for a long time...I've seen death. Trust me, it's unavoidable" Edited by Silas, Jan 31 2014, 09:51 PM.

Psychotic. Sick. Sadistic. Scarlett could continue the batter of name calling in her head all she wanted, but none of it would matter. Silas had completely lost his mind, and there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it. Feeling the wall without having much time to react she let out a yelp, one that was much louder than the last, and shifted to her knees. She had only a few moments to rest her broken arm between her legs and pop it back into place as she had done with the other one. The sound of the knife being retrieved caused Scarlett to scurry to her feet. Blood dripped from her hair line down her forehead and then her cheek. She could feel the pressure in the back of her head from hitting the floor just moments ago. The wheezing she let out as she breathed was all but impossible to hide. Dark purple and red marks held the color on her neck. He had really tried to kill her. He was still TRYING to kill her. Scarlett had enemies, but did she really need for Silas to be one of them? They had a common interest and that was Fiora. However now that she was gone, it was as if he had lost touch with reality and completely... Well... Lost it. "I'm not going to die today, nor will I ever die to your hands." He could try and hunt her, try and kill her but he'd find her a harder fight then he hoped. Maybe not even worth it. Scarlett, now with the ability to have both arms mobile, raised them and gathered fire between her finger tips and began shooting them towards him as he approached her. Like bullets but on fire, Scarlett shot at him and began stepping backwards. Her breathing starting to go back to normal, but it would be a moment before she was able to see perfectly clear. Thanks to the new gash in her head and the lack of oxygen flowing through her lungs. |

She was a stubborn one, which was natural. Silas knew the type of person Scarlett was and he knew she just wasn't going to succumb to his wishes and just let him kill her. She had a life, a future...all these things Fiora had until that faithful mission. However deep down Silas probably never cared for her. She was a means to an end and while her death did have some impact on him, or at least more than he thought it would, it wasn't the reason why Scarlett had to die. In fact Silas hardly blamed her. He wasn't crazy, well completely, he just remember his passion and his goal. Scarlett claimed she wouldn't die by Silas' hand and he merely smirked. "That may be true...after all it may not be by my hands", he said as he noticed something was off about her. He saw the fire gather on her fingertips and merely surmised that like Fiora she was a special type of mortal. One with the ability to use fire to some extent. While Silas didn't know how powerful she was or what she was capable of, he assumed that she had full manipulation of the element and therefore much more dangerous. However the one mental note he took was that she didn't use her powers before and the first time he felt any heat was when she made contact with her hand. So maybe her hands were the only thing capable of channeling her gift. However that was a theory to be tested or used later, right now he was under attack. Silas back flipped, landing on his knees behind a couch, dodging the initial barrage of flame bullets. As he heard her breathing steady he popped up and threw the knife at her with deadly speed and accuracy, aiming for either slashing at her waist if she moved a little, or piercing her right through the gut. |

Stubborn wasn't even the half of it. Scarlett wasn't one to give in or up for anything, unless she was the one winning. This clearly was not the case, in all seriousness, she was losing. However she wouldn't admit that, nor would she lay down and accept it. There were so many elements to this that she was missing, but had no time to ask what or why this was happening. All she knew was he was going to try and kill her. All that was on her mind was survival, that and Wraith. She had so much to live for, and this psycho wasn't going to take that away from her. When he dodged her attach, she gathered more fire into her hand to throw at him. However she didn't have time, seeing him throw the knife at her. There was not much time to respond, and when she did she unfortunately didn't get out of the way completely. The knife pierced her forearm and with as much force as it had behind it, it went straight through and stuck into the wall behind her. A loud scream followed. Scarlett bare her teeth and looked down at her arm. Outside a jogger running past Fiora's house heard the scream. Back inside, Scarlett moved her hand hesitantly to her arm and pulled the knife out with a hiss. The sound of the knife coming out of her flesh made her cringe but she did it until it was completely out. Tossing it off towards the door, Scarlett looked up at Silas and stared at him. "Mmm.." Dropping her right hand, the one that hadn't been impaled with a knife, fire began to melt from her palm. A, what looked like lava, whip appeared and hissed when it touched the ground. Her sapphire eyes melting in anger. Bringing back her hand she cracked her whip forward towards Silas. The whip was fast, and it was heading straight towards his neck. The fire was so hot it would melt skin. Even if he moved, she just bring it back and whip it at him again. |

Silas merely chuckled as the knife made contact, his inner sadist becoming very apparent. At this point Silas was merely enjoying himself, and Scarlett was just the perfect person to try to kill. She was persistent, she had courage, guts and the will to stay alive. Hell, she even fought back and actually inflicted an injury on the immortal. To Silas pain was something rarely truly felt. After all he had been through it all and with his recovery rate, it didn't last long. But the burning sensation was different. It would take slightly longer to recover which brought a twisted sense of joy to Silas. Scarlett was the perfect toy for him to play with, but at the same time he knew he couldn't allow Scarlett to live. Humans like her, or maybe people in general would always have a vendetta against the person who hurt or wronged them. Scarlett was no problem for Silas today, however if she came back at a later time, with help...or even during that time, Silas knew he would regret it. The immortal was temporarily lost in thought when all of a sudden he made eye contact with Scarlett and noticed she was on the attack again. The sight of a whip made Silas chuckle again before Scarlett cracked it aiming for the immortals neck. Silas sidestepped and took a lash to his shoulder, which made him wince for an instant before looking back at Scarlett with a face that could only be described as pure killer intent. Pain meant nothing to him, and he already displayed that whatever Scarlett did to him he'd recover. He couldn't be killed and he couldn't be injured. His demonic stamina would keep him going far longer than she could, especially with all the wounds and injuries she was taking slowly stacking up. If the attacks continued Silas would distance himself back out of range from the whip, his shoulder healing already. He would get another knife, however he wouldn't fire it. He held it in case Scarlett decided to turn her back and run. "You're a fighter...I like that...You couldn't imagine how boring life is when nothing stands up to you. But how are you holding up, do you honestly think you could keep this up forever...because I know I can", Silas said as he licked the knife he was holding. "You better keep your eyes on me because I've been practicing my aim for multiple of your lifetimes and I can assure you if you take your eyes off me, I won't miss", Silas said as he used the knife to show that he was going to decapitate her. However as the knife moved across his neck Scarlett would be able to notice that he was actually cutting himself, slitting his throat ever so slightly causing it to bleed before he healed. Was he insane? No...or maybe slightly. However he was sending a message, and he hoped Scarlett would understand. |

So many times she had fought for her life and lived. First was the attempt on her and her husbands life, that left him dead and her forever scarred. Then there was the attempt on her life once more from the Empress, trying to kill her to get to Wraith. Just last night she could've lost her life in the attempt on the Empresses life, and now this? Hadn't she had enough?! Scarlett would never be able to settle down, never be able to have a normal life. If she had ever wanted kids, this was the moment that would deter her. People would always be trying to kill her, whether it be for greed, revenge or just selfish reasons such as Silas's. Death would follow her, and it would show its true colors in the form of humanity. Breathing heavily, Scarlett took a step back and pressed her back against the wall. The blood from her forehead dripping down her eye. She blinked heavily for a moment. The amount of blood she was losing per second would cause her to become immobile here in a few minutes. The fiery whip she held in her hand flickered a sudden shade of blue, and she took a step forward off the wall and clashed it at him. As he showed her how he wished to kill her, she'd snatch the wrist that cut his throat and pull him forward. Unfortunately it backfired on her, and as she pulled him forward her weight gave out and she pulled HERSELF forward. Her legs buckling and her hand giving out on the whip, she fell to her knees. "F--uck.." Scarlett's eyes were going in and out of being blurry. She tried her hardest to find a steady ground but she couldn't and she fell back against the wall. He was going to kill her, and there wasn't a damn thing she could do about it. No matter if she fought right now, he'd just heal and continue to fight her right back. Scarlett was human, an elemancer without the title of immortality. He was a succubus that was going to feed on her life... Her hand engulfed in flames as she threw it at him as a last ditch effort. However a side step would easily dodge the slow moving fireball. [Countdown: 4 Posts] |

She was indeed persistent. Silas' eyes widened as she grabbed his wrist, but after she fell over he merely smiled. While she was down, it seemed this book was nearing its conclusion as he quickly stepped forward and delivered a swift kick around her upper abdomen, aiming to knock the wind out of her and possibly break a rib. The kick would put some distance between them and Silas honestly thought this was over until he noticed Scarlett wasn't done. She was still fighting with everything she had. In a last ditch effort she fired a fireball at him. He raised an eyebrow and pivoted his body, moving around the fireball and turning his attention back to Scarlett. She was indeed special, it was a shame she had to die so soon...or did she. Silas smiled as he walked towards Scarlett and grabbed her by the throat lifting her off the ground and forcing eye contact. His piercing gaze seemingly looking into her soul and his words suggestive, almost hypnotic. "You've been so much fun I've decided to let you live a little longer...However it won't be a fun time for you. I want you to look back at your life and think of all the people you have failed, all the people you let down and everyone who died for you, because of you, or near you. Think about Fiora and the pain she felt because you failed her. Me just killing you here would probably be too easy, I'm sure her spirit would want to see you repent a bit...and suffer", Silas said as he then threw Scarletts body across the room and into a wall. He then approached her slowly and handed her the knife. "I'd say use this to repent and hurt yourself the way you watched others get hurt in front of you...even kill yourself if you think you deserve it". At this point Scarlett was beaten and Silas was now trying to get into her head the same way he did with Fiora. In a weakened state the powers of persuasion was definitely not something to be underestimated and if successful Scarlett would begin to mutilate herself as she relived everything in her mind. |

The swift kick didn't help matters, now on top of bleeding externally she was bleeding internally as well. This is what Scarlett gets for being nice. This was the reason she was such a hateful person. If she hadn't gotten soft she wouldn't have cared to tell Silas about Fiora. She wouldn't have shown up, probably wouldn't even have mourned the immortals loss. Pain and suffering was what she was going through, and it was her fault. Granted she didn't need HIM to tell her that. Her stupidity for thinking human kind could be good got the better of her. Silas was going to kill her, and there was nothing she was going to be able to do about it. However, she wasn't going to mutilate herself. If he thought just because se was weak physically, that her mind was easily invaded, oh he was sadly mistaken. Scarlett felt his hand wrap around her throat and toss her off to the side. Her wheezing increasing as she tried to catch her breath, she could feel the broken rib that caused her movement to be minimal moving around where it was supposed to move. 'Fucking christ...' She thought, her right arm wrapping around her waist and her eyes shutting tightly. The sound of the knife hitting the floor and Silas's words only made her laugh. "Lazy shit, can't ev--" Hissing through her teeth, she held back the scream of pain her injuries were trying to cause. "e-even do your own dirty work..." Scarlett wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of giving him what he wanted. No, fuck him. Fuck what he thought was right in the world. Silas was a psycho, pure and simple, and she wasn't going to bend to him. "Do it yourself.." A smile curled at the corner of her lip. Her arm that was injured grabbed the knife and tossed it back towards him. "Cunt." |

Silas' eyes widened for a brief moment as he saw Scarlett resist him. It caught him off guard for a mere instant before he closed his eyes and smiled. She was truly remarkable. Her will was something to admire as even while she was physically beaten, her mind was still so very strong. People like her were definitely an interested and hard group to come by. People so stubborn and thickheaded, people who literally wouldn't give up even when they should. Usually it was because there was something that motivated them, or something that kept them on their toes against the world. However that didn't matter, or at least it didn't in Scarlett's case. The book was reaching it's final tragic chapter and that was going to be it. Silas slowly walked towards Scarlett, stretching his arms behind his head and his neck by moving it side to side. He raised his hand and grabbed the knife she tossed. Once he was close enough he would get on his knees in front of her and the tip of the blade would slowly tap against her skin. Soon the cold metal would slowly move up her leg until it reached her thigh. Once it did he slowly and precisely cut into her. The long knife going into her leg until the handle was all that could be seen from it. Silas then got up and took a few steps back. For a brief moment it would seem that the insanity had passed, that he was collected and tranquil. He took a deep breath before walking back towards Scarlett and picking her up by her throat and slamming her against the wall. His grip tightened by the second and he would attempt to choke her until she passed out from exhaustion and lack of oxygen. He wouldn't suffocate her to death, but if nothing was done these moments were going to be her last. "Rest easy Scarlett Rose..." |
