Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Did she blame herself for her death? Yes, and she probably would for quite some time...

It hadn't even been twelve hours, no it had been much less then that. Everything that could've gone wrong had, and in the end nothing had come out positive of the night for Scarlett. The Empress had gotten away, Wraith was still trapped, and to top it off Fiora was now gone. Granted Scarlett wasn't going to allow anyone to take the body and put it in the ground at least of yet. Money could do wonders, but it couldn't bring the dead back to life. She had been pondering how to find someone that had the meta- abilities to bring the dead back to life, but the odds of finding one in time for her body not to decompose would be completely impossible. As much as she wanted her, a friend, to return to the living there was nothing she could do.

Well, not for Fiora. The least she could do was tell Silas of her passing. If something would've happened to her, she would have hoped that one of her fellow triad members that knew her would have the gull to tell Wraith of her death. This was what she could do. Even if Silas wasn't someone that Scarlett particularly thought was right for Fiora, or anyone in that matter, he deserved to know she was gone.

There hadn't been sleep for Scarlett. She rarely cried, but in a moment like this it was hard not to shed a tear. Especially when she positively identified the body for police. Though as difficult as it was, she had to be strong. There was still so much to be done, this was just one of those rough steps that had to be taken.

Knocking on Fiora's front door, just to give Silas a heads up someone was coming in, she used Fiora's key to open the front door and stepped through the entrance way. "Silas?" Scarlett was a tough cookie, even now it would be hard to tell anything was wrong from her voice. Though one look at her, the dark circles, the red tent that clouded her eyes, the desperation in her expression, it was written that something wasn't right. If she was right about Silas, he'd shake his head and be upset for a moment. Though she didn't know him well, his type didn't seem to morn over the loss of someone close to them.

Little did she know.

"It's Scarlett." She turned and closed the door and took a deep breath before turning back around to look for him.

Silas
It had been really silent around the house as of late. Fiora was off doing something for the Triad...or whatever it was. Silas wasn't really one who cared for the details, however he knew Scarlett was with her and he knew she was a tough girl, she'd be back eventually. To cope with the boredom a little, Silas had explored Niwa underground. He heard something about the ability to take away somebody's powers, something that was dangerous to someone like him. He wasn't sure how it would work, after all he wasn't a meta human, he was hardly human at all.

Along with that Silas invest in a little dart board to play with. He had used arrows, spears, however he never through a dart before. Over the course of the day he had played with the darts while drinking whatever alcohol he could find in the house. By the time he heard the knock he was already extremely intoxicated. When Scarlett entered his back was facing towards her as he through a dart, hitting it right into the center.

"Scarlett...back so soon?", he asked

The smell of alcohol was harsh; almost like a punch in the face. Had he already known? Maybe something about what he was linked the two of them together and he knew the instant that it had happened. Drinking that amount of alcohol, at least enough for her to be able to smell it to that degree, was masking something inside of him. Either that or he was an alcoholic. Either or could be the real answer to her question. The sour look on her face definitely gave hint to the fact she could smell it all over him and in Fiora's home. No matter, she was there to tell him whether he knew or not. If he knew, better for her, if he didn't then she'd hope the alcohol would sooth his grief.

"I uh, yeah." Scarlett wasn't one to beat around the bush, as said many times, but in a situation like this was getting straight to the point really right? Was directly saying that in their attempt to kill the Empress, and a failed on at that, Fiora had been shot and killed. Brutally murdered without any chance of fighting back... How was this situation to be handled?

Clearing her throat there was a pause, and moment of thought and -- well contemplation. She had rehearsed the words multiple times in her head as she made her way to Fiora's home. However standing in front of him, looking into his eyes--drunken or not--it became harder then she could have imagined. "I only came here to tell you, because... I know I'd want to know if something happened to someone I cared about.." Alright that was a decent start.

"Fiora was.." A lump caught in her throat and she choked on her words. "Um, she was shot last night." That was putting it simply. Shot would indicate once maybe twice. No, having a firing squad shoot at you would be more of a she was shit on by bullets. "I'm so sorry, Silas, but she's gone." Scarlett was a great actor, one that could fool just about anyone. However, there was no acting here. No lies. All her emotions, the ones she never showed anyone, were written on her face.

She'd lost a friend... A vocabulary word that never once mattered to Scarlett until Fiora. From her selfish acts, she got her only friend killed. It was balling up in her eyes as she starred at Silas. She wouldn't cry in front of him; no. She couldn't. Scarlett was strong, she had to be.

Silas
Silas was reaching the bottom of his glass however he stopped as she began to speak. The smell of alcohol was definitely thick in the air, enough to make it seem as if Silas wouldn't be able to comprehend any of what she was about to say, however the immortal wasn't new to drinking. He was drunk, however he would mask it as best he could, which was done pretty well. He didn't turn to Scarlett, after all from their last meeting, it was made slightly clear that she wasn't a fan of his.

Once she said she'd like to know if something bad happened to someone she cared about, he dropped the next dart and lifted the glass up. He was silent, however that sentence obviously meant that there was nothing happy to be said next. Once she said Fiora was shot a cracking sound could be heard. Then once Scarlett said that Fiora had passed...that she was gone it was silent for a moment before another cracking sound was heard. Suddenly a shattering sound echoed as Silas broke the glass he was drinking from. A mixture of the drink, glass, ice and blood fell to the ground and Silas rose. His hand healed quickly and he turned to face Scarlett.

His expression seemed cold, however his reaction proved that there was some type of response to what she just said. He opened his mouth however he wasn't able to say anything. He only turned his back towards her again and picked up another dart. He through it however the force behind this one was extremely strong. It pierced through the other dart and stabbed deeply into the wall, almost going through it completely.

"I see...How are you taking it?", was all he was able to say it seemed.

Was she expecting that? Not really. He seemed generally upset, which surprised Scarlett. Then again, Fiora's and his relationship was still quite young just as Wraith's and hers was. In this situation, even at the time the two of them had been together, Scarlett would've been upset to lose Wraith. Maybe he truly did care about her...

Then again, his question through her for a loop. His expression seemed of anger and distort, yet his question was awkward. How was she handling it? That was a terrible question. She wasn't taking it very well, even if she showed physically that she was fine. Even with the dark circles and red tented eyes, Scarlett barely looked like she had shed a tear; which was completely wrong. Her body ached and her mind was completely torn. It was as if... as if a side of her was lost that night too. She'd beat herself up over this for quite some time. Which was ironic because of the situation she was in at the moment.

"Honestly," Her hand rose and she ran her fingers threw her crimson hair. It was a mess, just like her clothes. She didn't look professional as she normally did. Black t-shirt with blue jeans and tennis shoes. Casual was a light word for how she looked. "Not so good." Scarlett didn't know what she was getting herself into when she spoke, but she'd immediately regret her words. "If it weren't for me asking her to do this, she would've never been there."

There was no words for how she felt. No meaningful sentiment to give to Silas. "Her body is being taken care of by meta's that will make it visible for an open casket." She wasn't good with social interactions. Scarlett had no idea what to so or how to approach this situation. She knew that Fiora had some form of a Will, somewhere; where she had no idea. "She'd want you to say goodbye." Oh how saying those words twisted the knot in her heart.

Was she really, truly gone forever...

Silas
Silas could hear it in her tone, she was beaten, even if she didn't want to make it apparent. I mean of course she couldn't, she wasn't the type to, especially in front of Silas. However something that she said really stuck with him. If she didn't ask her too, Fiora would have never been there in the first place. Did that make Scarlett responsible, was she to blame. Silas merely blinked a few times, staring off into the wall with the dart he threw. He looked up towards the ceiling briefly before looking back down and walking towards the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen Silas poured two glasses of the drink he had been having and then poured ice on top. He handed off of the glasses to Scarlett and then noticed for her to sit down.

"I know your type Scarlett. I know you're grieving too, and if anything you need to let it go. You can't try to keep your composure even through news like this. You should let it all out...Fiora would probably want that too".

As he spoke to her Silas walked close, brushing her hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek with his hand. While Silas and Scarlett didn't know each other that well, he knew she cared for Fiora...a lot. He knew somewhere in her was something that wanted to break down, something that wanted to be comforted.

His eyes pierced hers, however the gaze he gave also looked save, as if she could trust him.

Scarlett could hear the pouring of the alcohol into two glasses; should she really drink? No that wasn't the smartest of ideas. Though she wouldn't push it away, Silas was obviously in need of someone to have a drink with--whether he needed another or not--she'd at least sip on it.

She took the glass and gave him a nod as he gestured towards the couch. One she had sat on many a time talking to Fiora. The fact that she'd never see her again was sinking in too quickly. "Thanks.." She said before taking a seat. It was then that he started to talk. Though, something about his words and his actions were too emotional, too ... passionate maybe. Scarlett wasn't someone that allowed herself to become that kind of person. On top of that, she didn't allow people to touch her so intimately. Silas may have needed someone to have a drink with, but the only person she allowed to touch her in that way was Wraith.

However it wasn't like she had much of a choice. When she felt the brushing of her hair behind her ear she turned quickly to find his gaze. "Sto--" The gaze of an incubus. Scarlett hadn't been caught in the eyes of one before, at least none that she could remember, but as she stared at him she froze. The feeling of trust fell into her lap, and she took a deep breath. Letting it out softly with a heavy sigh, she lowered her guard.

"I don't need to let anything go." As much as she wanted to blink she couldn't. Dropping his gaze was a lot harder than she wanted it to be. "Fiora knew the kind of person I am; she'd expect nothing less." It was honestly true. Even though, Scarlett could probably burst out into tears at any given moment if she truly wanted to.

The more she looked at him, the more blame she had for what happened to Fiora.

Silas
Silas was an old man, and in his time on the planet he knew of one grim truth. People were born, and everything that is alive will one day die...even him. It was a horrible truth that haunted the immortal ever since he gained the power to see the dead. One benefit of having Fiora around was she was a constant distraction, something that kept his mind focused on the living. With her gone, especially now in this drunken state, it was only a matter of time before the dead decided to haunt him again.

He slowly removed his hand from Scarlett and began to drink. As the glass came down from his face he saw a faint image of Fiora in the corner of his eye. This triggered a very powerful headache, however Silas was able to mask his pain in front of Scarlett. However the longer it went on as Scarlett talked the stronger it became. Silas walked back into the kitchen to put down his glass before walking in front of Scarlett and getting on his knees to be at eye level with her.

He could see it on her face, the guilt she felt deep down. Silas' head was pounding until he merely smiled for a brief moment and stood up placing both of his hands on Scarlett's shoulders.

"You must really feel guilty...don't worry about it though", the immortal said before applying an unbearable amount of pressure on her shoulders in a sudden jerking motion to try pop both of her arms out of their sockets at once. He then took a step back and chuckled a sadistic chuckle. It truly seemed as if Silas had lost himself.

All living things in this world will die...they must...and they will

He then turned towards Scarlett again and took a step towards her.

"You'll be reuniting with her pretty soon...", he mumbled.

The movements that Silas had was beginning to make Scarlett feel a bit uncomfortable. He moved a lot; back and forth. The drink in her hand stayed there, she didn't take even a sip of it yet. The uneasy feeling she was having, and the gut turning pinch, it was telling her that it was time for her to leave. Scarlett trusted her gut and when it told her something she listened. Leaning forward she took a deep breath and put her drink down. Bringing her hands back she put them down onto the couch and pushed herself up. Well, sort of. As she was about to her feet, Silas reappeared in front of her.

She sat back and looked up at him, "Look I really need to be going..." As he sat down on his knees in front of her she looked away from him. This was beginning to become weird now. "Silas. Again I'm sorry but.." Again he stood up.

God he was so weird. Looked like he had a twitch of some kind too.

Feeling his hands press down onto her shoulders she tried to jerk away. However it did nothing, it was like trying to move when weights were pressing down on top of you. "Get off me!" She said with force behind it. The last thing she wanted to do was start a fight in a time like this. She was exhausted from the night before and on top of that she was just too emotional scarred to be able to do anything. He wasn't going to appreciate what she'd do to him.

"D-Don't worry about it?!" What was he saying? "Why no--" *Pop* "...mm" It must've been shock, because she didn't scream. Had he just popped her arms out of their socket? When she attempted to move her arm, it wouldn't budge. Then the other. Nothing.

Looking up at him, shock and pain filled her expression. Her bottom lip quivered as she tried to find what to do or say. There were no words, except when he spoke once again. "Reunited..." He couldn't have been serious. Was he really going to blame her, as she was herself, for Fiora? Did he truly care THAT much? No, he wasn't the kind to care...

Shit.

Scarlett wasn't going to die. Nor was she going to allow him to hurt her like that. Raising her leg she forcefully kicked at his kneecap~ and her legs were strong. With that amount of force it wouldn't be surprising if his bone popped out and out of the back of his leg. Only when he'd react to her kicking him would she stand and move around the couch. She needed to at least get one of her arms back into place, thankfully Scarlett wasn't an idiot.

Taking to the ground, she laid onto her back and brought her legs up. Tossing her right arm in between her legs she positioned herself well enough to secure it. Taking a deep breath she pushed her elbow-pit (the opposite side of the elbow where the crease is when you bend your arm) up towards the ceiling. A heft pop and a loud scream followed. "Ah god fucking damn it!!" The pain was tremendous and it caused tears to ball up at the corner of her eyes. All she could do was roll over to the side, and start to pick herself up.

She hadn't wanted to look to see where Silas was, all she looked for was the door. "Fuck you Silas.."

Silas
Silas' vision grew blurry and for a brief moment he turned away and he saw a silhouette in the background in Fiora's shape. However next to her was something else, something smaller that he couldn't make out. However after seeing that image briefly he gripped his face holding onto reality. His visions were never this bad or have ever affecting him this aggressively mentally, however this case was different. Did the alcohol play a role in this? Or did Silas actually care for Fiora more than he admitted?

Either way Silas was bent on killing Scarlett. He didn't blame her, but he realized he had a goal to do, and now was the perfect time to get out a little anger. As he looked back at Scarlett she kicked his kneecap, popping his bone out and bending his leg backwards. He fell back however caught his balance and looked at Scarlett again. He didn't scream, he didn't even seem to feel that back pain. Cracking sounds began to fill the air as Silas slowly stood up straight, his knee popping back into the place.

Silas smiled for a moment as he realized Scarlett never knew about him. "You know when I met Fiora, one of the first things she did to me was break my neck...", he said. He wondered if Fiora told her about that night, about Silas being what he was...how he was immortal. "That night she also said she was immortal...Ironic huh", he said as he slowly began walking towards her, showing no injury on his knee anymore.

Since Scarlett wasn't paying attention to Silas he merely reached forward with his hands and just after she cursed at him he would clench her by the throat and lift her up, off her feet. Her back was towards him so she couldn't see that his golden eyes were slightly brighter and even more piercing. His hair growing slowly long and prints appearing on his chest.

"Leaving so soon...you should stay, show some respect", Silas said before his voice grew darker, more arrogant and demonic. He then muttered, "You pathetic mortal".

At those last words, there was a chill in the air as if the room got significantly colder. If Scarlett didn't know, she'd definitely be able to tell now that Silas was "no ordinary human".
