Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

It had taken a long time to gather a lot of the old supplies, but once put to the task, this girl was unstoppable. The police had spent weeks combing through the park, cataloging evidence and taking notes on the attack. Whoever was left alive was arrested, whether they were the victim or the attacker... all that was sorted later, and parents were called. Aisling had been lucky; she was with the group that got away. Haru had made sure that they all escaped punishment, and while they were all terribly, emotionally wrecked, at least they had each other.

It was something she kept telling herself as she snuck back into the camp night after night, pilfering whatever they hadn't carried with them that day. For the most part, the cops had left the tents alone, unless there had been a body in one. She always felt really strange sneaking past those empty spaces. As far as she had known, the kids who had lived in them simply went back to their lives before the Skulk. Aisling couldn't think of it any other way... it was too painful.

And now she had gathered all those pieces of their life together here, in this school. Haru had told everyone that this would be a safe place, and the young girl could hardly argue with a roof over her head. For now, though, she stood awkwardly in the lobby, listening to the snow static together outside. Ais was surrounded by boxes of things she had been collecting, and she felt a little warmer just staring at the familiarity of it all. She hugged Mrs. Bunny closer to her chest, underneath her jacket. She already missed the camp.

Cecilia blushed more as the girl seemed to stutter shocked by what unfolded just seconds ago. "Y-yes I had to kiss you its how I learn languages from where I come from and I have to say that I'm not exactly from around here." It was the only explanation that she could give the girl who seconds ago was kissing. She didn't want to show her what she was yet because Cecilia didn't trust the girl yet. She didn't want a repeat of the first night she arrived on this planet which caused people to scream and run away. And seeing minor television on this planet people experimented on alien races if they ever came to this planet. She for one didn't want to be stuck in some lab being dissected. The kiss wasn't a bad one Cecilia rather enjoyed it maybe she was getting feelings for these earthlings. She removed the thought of her mind she had to do it in order to communicate. She wanted to return home to her people or be on a planet which had better technology. This is what she was stuck with so she had to make the best of things.

The young girl swallowed, placing her hands on her face to rub the blush away. "O... okay then." Aisling turned away from Cecilia. This was weird, but she supposed it wasn't as weird as having your hands go up in flames whenever you were in danger. Devil Hands was a very appropriate nickname for her. Actually, she was surprised they hadn't flared up when the other girl got close. Maybe she was getting better control over it? Ais looked down at her hands before she shoved them into her jean pockets.

"Okay then." She repeated, turning back to Cecilia and Sue, "We're going to explore this place. Sue suggested the kitchens, so I think that's our best bet. Which way do you think is the cafeteria?"

Cecilia couldn't help but giggle to herself at the blushing Aisling as she rubbed her face for what she thought was to cover up her blushing. She thought it was quite cute and wondered if all humans get this cute when they kiss someone. She watched as she shoved her hands into her pocket before addressing the group. They were apparently looking for the kitchen in this place and what she guessed would have food and that. "Um I think we should go this way." She said pointing down a wide hallway. This place looked big from the outside so it might take them a while before they find anything specific. Cecillia thought that they would get lost in the hallways of this building but at least she was with others so it wasn't that bad. She waited for the group to start moving in hopes of finding this place they were looking for.

Mismatched eyes followed the alien's finger as she pointed down the hall. It seemed like a good enough guess. Aisling nodded once before turning on her heel and starting the journey down the long hall. Even with the snow piling high outside, it was still bright in the hallway, as long as there were windows. Some of the classrooms they passed were dark and dank, and Aisling could feel the cold air leaking out from inside them. A window or two was probably broken. The young girl wasn't afraid of it getting too dark; Demon Hands had an advantage or two in places like this.

It didn't take long to find the cafeteria in this building. The construction of this place reminded her more of an American style school. Even though there were sliding doors and signs on the classrooms more typical of Japan. The layout felt more foreign; some kind of strange chimera of miss-matched shapes strewn together without care. Niwa was always good at throwing you for a loop like that. Ais wondered if she would get used to it with age.

"I guess this is the place." She turned to the two girls who had followed her here, "Who would like to do the honors?"

Sue jumped up and down waving her arms for a moment, she'd do it! At least that way they'd know for sure if anything dangerous was in there! Sue hopped on into the cafeteria, instantly tripping over some stacked tables. Clatter! Sue and the tables fell to the ground.

“Fudge... that...oww.. There's... some...” She tried to get a better look at what she had fallen onto, “I think its tables...”

Stumbling to her feet, Sue tried to push some of the hazardously placed cafeteria tables out of the way, only managing to create a larger mess than she had already.

“urk.. sorry...” She mumbled, slowly inching back behind the group again. “doesn't seem like the cafeteria has anything dangerous in it at least... other than uh.. tables...” She was a little proud of her ability to draw any an all hazardous objects to herself, though it wasn’t something she enjoyed. It made her feel useful.

Aisling followed soon after hearing the commotion. It was hard not to laugh at Sue's ridiculousness, but the young girl swallowed her giggles and picked up some of the tables strewn across the cafeteria. Restacking some of them was hard work, but at least they wouldn't leave this place a disaster for the others. There were some doors off ahead that probably contained the kitchens. If the Skulk got really big, they could do family meals in here. The thought made her smile as she headed towards the metal doors.

One of them was rusted shut, but the other budged a bit when she pushed against it. The unholy squeak the door made as it moved slowly, scraping against the ground and grinding the hinges, made Ais's ears hurt. But if they didn't get the doors open, there was no guarantee that they could make this place work.

"I need your help to get this thing open." She said to Sue and Cecilia, "Either we get this with brute force, or we get some oil for the hinges, or," Her hands lit up in blue flames, "I burn the damn thing down."

Sue waved he arms back and forth really quickly , "No! Uh! Magic! Nope! I'd rather... I'll just run into it a bunch!" magic made Sue nervous and she had little to no interest in being set on fire today.

"Umm.. " Sue started pushing against the door, her feet slipping against the ground as she tried to move it. The thing only moved an inch or so in the end. Maybe she could run into the door.

She looked at the rusted door. She wasn't sure how science and rust and metal all worked but she was fairly certain that rusty things were more fragile?

" Hey, what do you think about me.." she grimaced a bit, "ramming into that door until it breaks? I'm pretty sure that would work... I mean... " she wasn't entirely sure how her 'power' worked. She knew that she was extreamly unlucky, but it never affected other people too much. She wasn't sure if knocking the door down and breaking a limb would be more unlucky than not getting the door open and still breaking a limb.
