Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

It had taken a long time to gather a lot of the old supplies, but once put to the task, this girl was unstoppable. The police had spent weeks combing through the park, cataloging evidence and taking notes on the attack. Whoever was left alive was arrested, whether they were the victim or the attacker... all that was sorted later, and parents were called. Aisling had been lucky; she was with the group that got away. Haru had made sure that they all escaped punishment, and while they were all terribly, emotionally wrecked, at least they had each other.

It was something she kept telling herself as she snuck back into the camp night after night, pilfering whatever they hadn't carried with them that day. For the most part, the cops had left the tents alone, unless there had been a body in one. She always felt really strange sneaking past those empty spaces. As far as she had known, the kids who had lived in them simply went back to their lives before the Skulk. Aisling couldn't think of it any other way... it was too painful.

And now she had gathered all those pieces of their life together here, in this school. Haru had told everyone that this would be a safe place, and the young girl could hardly argue with a roof over her head. For now, though, she stood awkwardly in the lobby, listening to the snow static together outside. Ais was surrounded by boxes of things she had been collecting, and she felt a little warmer just staring at the familiarity of it all. She hugged Mrs. Bunny closer to her chest, underneath her jacket. She already missed the camp.

Sue had no other home but with the skulk, she didn't actually know where she came from originally so she had no where else to go. She was thankful for the school, she'd never been to school so it was fun pretending that this was what school was like. She didn't know much about school so it was easy to pretend this was how school usually was.

She stumbled in through the door, covered in more bandages and wounds than the last time she had been here. She liked having a warm place to stay because she didn't have any warm clothes to wear elsewhere. She preferred the school over the camp because of this. She didn't actually have anything to take with her from the camp, she'd never owned anything before, other than the clothes she was wearing.

"Hey, I've seen you around before. I'm Sue! Nice to meet you." she smiled, kneeling next to the younger girl. Cowlick wiggled a bit in greeting, she was feeling extra nice and sociable today.

Horrible. Just horrible. Viridianna wordlessly slipped into the lobby of the school she was told could shelter them, a small chest of her belongings left behind small fragments of dirt it had picked up as she dragged it behind her. Her face was grubby and downcast, alluding to how heavy her heart felt. She may not have been a member of the skulk for very long before hand, but after the attack everything felt different. Her home, her newfound family has already been torn apart. It seemed like she couldn't catch a moment of happiness anywhere she went. And now she found herself inside another school.

Her icy blue eyes looked around the lobby to get a feel for what she would be living in. It was different from the one she was used to for more reasons than this one was abandoned. The high arcing cathedral-like ceilings and stain-glass windows of her boarding school were gone, replaced with a much more simple design. Even though it was different it was still a school; still an internal place. It made her uncomfortable, but maybe being here with the Skulk could give school a new meaning to her.

“At least this is going to be a home rather than a place of abuse," Vi said to herself. There was an edge of poison in her voice, but it wasn't directed at anyone but the ceiling.

The reason why they had to move returned to the forefront of her mind and pain lanced her heart once more. She wished she had some sort of alcoholic beverage on hand to sooth the pain, but such were only temporary fixes. She was slightly tempted to brave the run-down slums in search for ‘The Shit' on the off chance they might actually serve someone her age.

Confused would be the first emotion Tye would register in his mind, confusion over the fact that he was here at a school for some reason. He couldn't really remember why he decided to take his gangling self there, it was something important he wanted to do, he just couldn't remember what. He let out a chorus of laughter at that, hearing it echo off the main entrance wall of the building. He always wound up forgetting stuff after a weekend of living it up with some newly acquired friends. The copious amounts of drugs helped too of course.

Making his way into the lobby of the school, nostalgia hit him like a truck. He had never actually went to school for long, always traveling with his older brother; but the rare moments they had to make their lives seem more "normal, was when he got to see what one of these places looked like. Of course this one seemed to be in a state of disrepair and empty, yet kinda cozy now that he thought about it.

Tye thought how surreal this would look to a passerby-er and that was just funny to him, letting out another round of laughter that seemed to boom in the more enclosed space. He quieted down in case anyone would be annoyed by the sound, this didn't seem like a time for laughing anyways. Something itched in his mind as why that would be.

"Now, why would I want to be in a motherfuckin school?" He asked to no one in particular, just letting his drawled voice ring in the air.

Ais couldn't help the glare she aimed at the one boy among them. Yeah, she could understand the sentiment, but it's not like they had any other choice. She was sure he hadn't been around when their camp got blown to smithereens. She decided to be the bigger man and forgive him for it. Either way, the whole situation made her sigh.

"Would you rather be out in the cold?" A glance at a window across the way showed the snow piling high outside, "I wouldn't. This place may be a dump now, but we can make it better. We made the park home, after all."

She didn't sound so convincing, but maybe it was time for her to channel a bit of Vesper. First, a lovely introduction, and then the bossing around would commence, "I'm Aisling. I can fly and burn people with my hands, and until Haru gets here, I guess I'm also in charge." That would probably be hard to swallow, seeing as how she was the youngest, but of all four of them, she had been around the longest, and probably knew how to be homeless more than the others.

"I think we should explore this place. Any suggestions on where to start?"

Any suggestions huh.. Well Sue knew when in new places food was generally the most important thing. "I'll see if I can find a kitchen... Cause... This looks like a building that would have one... Maybe uh... There's some canned food and stuff?," She'd learned about that in Russia. Canned food lasted forever, "we could either split into groups or go all together... But going alone is probably the worst idea..."

"Oh, and kitchens have knives and stuff too... In case...." She hadn't been there, but something real bad had just happened to the skulk, and weapons were always useful for that too... Preventing bad things.

Cecilia had only been on earth for a couple of days which to her were hell because there were a couple of problems with this planet. For one nobody understood her when she talked to them and she wasn't able to get close enough to learn there language. The other is that nobody knew who she was which should have been understandable since there technology was so far behind but that's not how she thought. They should be bowing down to her the princess of a planet locked in war. She found that she couldn't walk around normally so she had to make a change and changed how people saw her to better fit in. The only problem is that she still couldn't get close enough to someone to properly learn there language so still nobody could understand her when she spoke. It was a tough couple of days and now to add to it snow was falling from the sky and no roof around to shield her from it. Why did she have to land on this planet and not some other. They were so primitive compared to some of the other planets she had been too. At least there she was treated correctly. Well that was in the past so best not to dwell on it for too long she thought to herself better make the best of things now.

She wandered around for a little while and noticed the abandoned building in the distance. Being as cold as she was she ran as fast as her legs would carry her until she got to the main doors. Seeing through the doors she noticed other people were in the building some of them looking in pretty rough shape. She hesitated at first and built up the courage to step into the building and address the group. They might not attack or at least that's what she hoped. She began to speak introducing herself but it would only come out in a weird language that they would have no hopes of understanding so it would just sound like weird sounds coming from her mouth. Hopefully the leader of this little group would step forward because didn't all groups of people have some sort of leader. If one of them got close enough to her she would be able to learn there language finally.

While some of the others wandered off to do whatever they were going to do, Aisling listened to the one good suggestion from the group. "That's a great idea, Sue." The young girl smiled, "Let's go down this really lon--"

Just then, another young girl entered the building. She looked a little out of it, and when she opened her mouth, some sort of gibberish came out. It looked like she was just trying to introduce herself, but Aisling couldn't really tell. Either way, the girl didn't seem threatening at all, so she decided to trying and bring her along. Six pairs of eyes were better than four after all. Ais took a step forward with her hands in front of her, trying to display that she meant no harm.

"Aisling." She said, pointing to herself. Next, she pointed at Sue, "Sue." Then she pointed at the alien girl, cocking her head to the side in question. This seemed to be the best way for introductions to commence before they did anything else.

This girl who referred to herself as Aisling seemed to be the leader of the group being to first one to actually speak to her before introducing some of the others. Yes this was the one with moving towards her in a non threatening way. Cecilia hoped she didn't take offence for what she was about to do but her people had a way to learn languages which judging by the way she had seen on Earth for the past couple of days people did this all the time so it shouldn't be weird. As soon as Aisling got close enough she went for it. She spoke a couple of words that of coarse sounded like gibberish which would have been an apology in their tongue because it seemed like people on earth do it for romantic reasons. Cecilia leaned in and brought her lips to Aislings in a kiss and held it there for at least a min holding here there if she tried to escape.

After about a min Cecilia broke the kiss and spoke. "Umm sorry about that but I've been trying to learn your language for days now and nobody let me get close enough." She said looking innocent and blushing slightly. "Anyway my name is Cecilia and its a pleasure to meet you." She waited for a response before continuing also being able to speak the language perfectly now that she had connected with her.

Well... that was certainly weird. Her first kiss, and it was with some strange neko girl. It had lasted an abnormally long time, and Aisling had tried to pull away, but Cecelia seemed to just hold her there. The whole thing seemed rather sudden, but important, and Ais felt like the least she could do was be patient and wait for an explanation. One was given shortly after she was let go, but the young girl barely heard it. There was a strange ringing in her ears, and her face felt like it was sunburned. Needless to say, she had blushed a deep crimson color, and couldn't find any words to convey her confusion.

After several moments of stunned silence, Aisling swallowed and was finally able to speak, "L-learn... what do you mean? Y-... you had to k-k-kiss me to learn how to speak?" She was still rather flustered, and raised her hands to her face to try and cool it down a bit. This day was already turning out rather weird.
