Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Namida
Nami smiled as the small ding from her kitchen timer sounded. The apartment filled with the smell of fresh baked cookies, kinda off if you actually looked around it. In her living room there were guns on the table taken apart for cleaning, a sword laid on the floor also freshly cleaned, and a punching bag hung from the ceiling beat to hell and back. In the kitchen empty sake bottles cluttered the sink and across the table laid out all her makeup supplies and a mirror.

She slipped on her oven mitts and pulled the batch out. After letting them cool a bit she took a small portion of each and wrapped them up nicely. It had been a long time since she had had actual neighbors. Not since the fire really. Her late teenage years had been spent running from the Kayashin-gumi and then after joining Wo Shing she’d been training under Eiji-Sensei and lived within the Wo Shing headquarters in the area. Not exactly the place to go greet your neighbors. Probably wasn’t exactly the best idea to do this now either but father always made it a point to be friendly to the neighbors and it would make him sad if she didn’t do the same.

Once the four packages of cookies were wrapped up she placed them in a bag and headed out her door walking a few feet to the right to stand before her neighbors. She set her usually sweet and innocent smile on her face and knocked three times. She had heard this neighbor was not allowed an oven after a kitchen accident, probably some old lady that could barely care for herself if she managed that. The cookies would probably be a welcome surprise… assuming the old lady had the teeth to eat them.

Namida
Namida sighed and looked down at her tea. Death huh? Akaiken always had been kinda...samurai-ish... so this talk of finding a good death wasn't surprising. It was sad but it still wasn't surprising.

"I cannot die yet." Nami said squeezing her cup, her brows furrowed and she looked up at Akaiken with serious eyes. "not until the Somoto name is redeemed and honorable again. It is the least I can do for papa. The way he died... the way they all died. Like dogs put down because someone wish it. There was no honor in their deaths, no purpose so until the Somoto name once again has honor I will continue to fight, so that they may rest easy and not feel shame."

Her expression showed a sense of determination not often found in this world. It was the reason for everything, the reason for her living now.

Akaiken
"I cannot die yet."

Akaiken looked up noting the earnest expression on Namida-sama's face.

So that was her goal, her reason for continuing to live on... As the now-blonde spoke of the Somoto-clan's fall, shame and guilt lay themselves heavily over Akaiken's shoulders. She looked down, staring into her cup and swallowing a bit. If only there had been more she could have done to prevent that day... She'd gone over it a thousand times, maybe if she'd been a little more observant at that time, or if she had taken outside watch instead of remaining inside. So many things...

But of course, regret is truly a worthless emotion. Almost all of them are, but regret being the most worthless among them. So, trying to let the past remain past what could she do but support Namida-sama's goals? Truly things have not changed so much had they?

"Then I too will do all that I can towards that aim." She said looking back up at Namida with a solid look of resolve on her face.
