Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

God had today been exhausting; a move and a hit in a single day. Eiji was overworking her for sure. It wasn’t bad enough that she had to travel all fucking day to get here but right after finally reaching her new apartment (which admittingly wasn’t bad, not in the least) but she had to dress up and go right back out the door. Not even to meet Mr. What’s-his-name, in charge of operations here but to carry out a hit. That’s right, a hit. Sure it wasn’t one that was really all that hard; big time, smooth talking lawyer who had somehow ended up on the Wo Shing shit list. Nami didn’t know what he had done and frankly didn’t care, all that mattered was Wo Shing wanted him to be sleeping with the fishes and well whenever Eiji said jump her response was always “how high?”

She had read up on the target during her travels, the plan had been a simple one. The old seduce, seclude, then slaughter; she’d done it half a dozen times and hell it seemed to work pretty well. This guy didn’t have bodyguards, shit was too easy. The only tough part was her disguise; typically her attire would fall under the categories of short, tight, and skimpy but this Joe was a little different. He sure wasn’t giving the trophy wife much action because according to Wo Shing research his tastes lied a little more on the male side. Late teens to early twenties men to be exact. Luckily Nami had never really had all much chest to speak of (though it was getting tougher to hide it) and was well versed in the cross dressing department. A bit of well placed make up, a lot of hair styling and an outfit perfect for hiding that female figure and she was ready to go.

The mission didn’t take more than a couple hours, the guy took the bait like a starving fish and it wasn’t long till he was stumbling out the door eager to get the pretty collage boy into his hotel room. Nami had played her part well, making sure to keep her voice low, using her eyes and body language do do most of the talking for her as the lawyer had rambled on about all sorts of shit. He had been all too eager to play cat and mouse chasing his ‘playful new lover’ down to the frozen beach late at night. No one was there (because it would be fucking stupid to be there) and the kill was so quick he hadn’t seen it coming. The body was left in the snow under the boardwalk. It was cold as hell froze over so Nami doubted anyone would find him soon. Not unless they went looking for him and even if they did he was last seen with a young man, something she was most certainly not.

After putting some distance between herself and the body she found a little shop closed for the winter to hide behind as she turned herself back into a girl. She dropped her pants revealing a pair of leggings underneath. She rolled the pants up and shoved them into the bag she had with her. swapped out men’s dress shoes for ladies boots, undid her chest binding and let her hair down running her fingers through it, it looked messy as hell but hey she was back to being a woman. For good measure she added a tint of pink to her lips and a few strokes of mascara. Just a student from the nearby university out late after studying; nothing to see here folks. She smiled to herself another job well done as she made her way back towards the populated areas of town. Though… something felt…off…

Yes it was..... air? what? Nami stumbled as her fist hit nothing, nearly falling.

"Somoto-san. I cannot answer your question if you two keep on doing this."

He was right behind her. She immediately swung her right hand back as she turned, attempting to hit the source of the noise with a closed fist backhand. Having hit nothing the Chi in her hand had yet to dispel and so it was still ready for a hit. She wouldn't notice the blade coming down on her until she had fully turned. she saw it just time for it to come down on her head but disappear before actually hitting her. Though she would notice a single blond hair floating down to the ground.

As the warrior disappeared, Namida's backhand strike cut through the air right towards the man's face, and right before it struck, the man... did nothing but smile at her.

Her punch landed square on his jaw, the powerful load of Ki exploding upon contact and creating a shock wave that shook the whole establishment, causing the few glass windows in it to burst outwards in tiny little pieces towards the street.

"That's very nice."

The man's face hadn't moved, Nami's fist still resting against it. He raised an eyebrow.

"Are you done, Nami-kun?"

"Nami, stop it!"

Tatsuo yelled, knowing it would be useless. She was stubborn and by the looks of it reckless too. Hell, he was drunk and even he was able to think straighter. This guy was out of her league... and quite probably out of his as well. Even Tatsuo had not been able to see him move, and that was something he'd only experienced with Eiji.

As he tried to move and stop her he realized he could now move freely. He didn't waste his time and raised his arm to aim his gun at the man.

"Stop this shit right now! I mean it!"

The white-haired man threw his hands up in the air, laughing as he spoke.

"But dear Tatsuo-kun! That is all I've been asking this whole time! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Nami froze wide eyed and horrified. That hit should have at least broken his jaw, if not worse. Hell she could split a large tree with a solid hit. But no instead the white haired monster stared at her with a smile. She wrenched her hand away moving back away from him.

She stumbled some and eventually fell on her ass. Her eyes still wide and full of fear. She hadn't felt this helpless in a long time, not since that night so long ago. Her eyes moved past the man to Tatsou. He had a gun now raised at the monster before them. The man began to laugh, each cackle driving more and more spikes of fear down her spine.

"Tatsou-san..." she said in a shaky voice. She didn't cry but her fear was obvious. Her breath was shaky, eyes wide and unblinking. She forced herself to take a deep breath and began to rise to her feet.

She stood and brought her hands up again, ready for whatever would happen. Her shoulders trembled but she stood her ground eyes moving back and forth between the two men. Waiting for the monster to act or waiting for Tatsou to give her orders.

She was near the door, she could try to run but she wouldn't. Not without her fellow Wo Shing member.

As Nami fell, Tatsuo intantly gave a step forward, his hands muscles tensing as he started the quick motion of pulling the trigger. She was out of harm's way and he had a clear shot, so it was now or never. The moment he saw the man stop the gigantic blade so easily he knew they were doomed, but even if all his efforts amount to nothing, he wasn't going down without a fight.

Then the man opened his eyes to look at him directly.

Tatsuo dropped his gun, which made a blunt, dry noise as it hit the wooden floor.

The man closed his eyes again and stood there, 'staring' at them with nothing but his eyelids without saying a word. The old man had long evacuated the place through the back door and the only noise was the distant murmur of the half-empty street outside.

The man gave a step forward and slowly, very slowly raised one hand, bringing it up over and behind his head... then suddenly scratched it.

"Oi!! WHY ARE YOU GUYS SO SERIOUS!? YOU GIVE ME THE CREEPS YOU TOO!"

*awkward pause*

He sighed, his eyebrows knitted together in an expression of dismay.

"Geeze! I knew this place was no Hyakuji, but I did not expect it to be so bad! One can't even try to have a drink and a chat without people trying to hurt you! How troublesome..."

He lowered his hand and brought both arms inside his Yukata.

"Apart from that is FREEZING COLD outside! Gave all my clothes to a homeless guy a few minutes ago and now I think I'm frost-bitten where the sun don't shine. I'm so glad this place was still open or I would have froze to death, that's for sure!"

Tatsuo seemed to have lost his speech and was simply staring at the man like an idiot.

Nami tensed as Tatsou-san dropped his gun. Obviously that was the work of the stranger too. She felt her heartbeat quicken as he raise dhis hand then....scratched his head....?

What...? what?! Was the world fucking loopy or something? One minute immediate death was certain the next, they were being laughed at by an white haired man who gave away his clothes and was complaining of how cold his dick was.

"Ahhh....what?" she said putting her fists down looking just as dumbfounded and Tatsou was.

"Umm.... who are you...? and um... if you just wanted to talk then why did you start acting like a villain from a shitty spy thriller?" She asked with an obviously confused look on her face.

The man stood there, seemingly looking at them with his closed eyes an smiling as always. He cocked his head, scratched his chin and seemed to be thinking real hard for a while; in the end waved his hand in an off fashion.

"I have no idea what you just said, Somoto-san. But I have to say you two are very violent. Very violent indeed! It is a nice surprise to see you here, however; I originally meant to talk to Tatsuo-kun and had no idea you'd be with him. Fancy meeting you here!"

Tatsuo dropped to his knees in the traditional Japanese sitting position, his head lowered, his bewildered eyes staring at nothing yet hidden by his own shadow as he looked down.

I... c-can't believe it...

"It almost feels like a family reunion!, he continued, not paying any mind to the cursed man. Then he walked towards the door and opened it. It wasn't locked.

"It seems as though I have made a lot more noise than I intended to though, so I believe it is time for me to go... probably you as well. I'm sure Tatsuo-kun already knows who I am, so I'll leave the explanations to him. Oi, Tatsuo-san! Just tell him I'm in town, will you?"

He waved.

"Ja, ne..."

And disappeared through the door.

Nami stod there confused as all hell. She stood straight hands on her hips and head titled to the side. she cocked and eyebrow when Tatsou-san dropped to floor bowing his head in respect. He obviously recognized the white haired man now. God was he that drunk that he mistook someone in the Wo Shing for an enemy? She could kill him! it was his crazy ass reactions that had led her to believe they were in serious danger. Hell she could have killed the guy had he been weaker than he was.

"Ah yes... gomenasai." she looking embarrassed.

As the man left she gave him a respectful bow (with an obviously agitated and forced smile) before standing straight and giving his back a small wave. Once he was gone she turned to Tatsou-san.

"What the fuck was that?!" she asked none too quiet. She turned to look at the busted out windows. The room was already chilly, and this only served to annoy her more. she took a couple large strides with her long legs quickly closing the gap between them.

"You pulled your gun on him, your fucking gun!" she whispered harshly. "I thought he was going to fucking kill us!" No traces of that sweet and innocent demeanor left, with her extreme irritation the inner yakuza shown through brightly. "Are you that drunk you didn't recognize your own higher up till after i tried to kill him!?" her shoulder were shaking, though whether that was the cold or her anger it was hard to say.

"I was trying to protect you, Nami."

Tatsuo's voice was dry and its tone flat, almost distant. He still looked down but he was not bowing respectfully as she thought, though it certainly appeared so. He was merely shaken. He had always wondered if the stories were true, but tonight he had confirmed it, and it had been frightening; a lot more in fact, than his encounter with Kiba Takeda, the demon beast which had actually brought him close to death. This man had no claws or teeth and had not even cared to actually do anything to harm them, and yet merely witnessing such power and realizing the implications was far scarier.

"That man... I'd never seen him before, but I know he's not Wo Shing."

Those eyes. He'd seen those eyes and then it dawned on him. He'd heard many stories, as told by Eiji himself, and he always mentioned those strange, unique eyes of him. Putting the pieces together he had to be an idiot not to have known who he was. Eiji never really talked about his private business, but back in the day he had been so frustrated, so... weird, that he seemed not able to help talking about him. Whoever got his boss so frustrated and flat-out pissed that he needed to vent the way he did, had to be special.

"His name is Yun."

Tatsuo's fists clenched as he raised his face to meet Nami's angry stare.

"He is Eiji's Sensei."

And that only meant things were about to get nasty.

Who knew there was something a person could say to disarm her anger so completely.

"I was trying to protect you, Nami."

Those words echoed through her head and almost instantly quelled any anger let in her. Protect? her? since when did people do that? she had been relying on herself for so long she had forgotten that it was possible to rely on another person like that. Hell the only reason she kept up this stupid blonde shoujo character facade was because she still didn't trust that the Wo Shing would come to her aid if the Kayashins found her. Yet here was a man who had in a single night ad tried to face a man with the powers of a god to let her escape. Shit... she couldn't be mad a him.

Her arms crossed in front of her, a single hand coming up to cover her mouth as she looked away. A blush spread over her cheeks as her brows furrowed. Whether from embarrassment of attacking her would be protector or from something else, well that was unclear.

Tatsou-san went on to explain who he thought that man to be. Not a Wo Shing higher up. Well that would be a problem later on probably. As for the news of who the man actually was. Nami had no reaction, Eiji never confided in her so she had heard no stories of the man called Yun. So when Tatsou-san looked up he would still see that embarrassed blush on her cheeks. When she saw the fear on his face she dropped her hand revealing a small frown. She reached her hand out to help him up but looked away again as she spoke.

"Yeah, well, as much as that sounds like it'll suck later there's not much else we can do tonight. So let's just get out of the cold, calm down a bit, and contact Eiji-sama." She looked back at him out of the corner of her eye and offered a small smile. "The monster isn't under our bed tonight so let's relax a little, just for now ok?" her tone was kind, soothing. She knew that Tatsou-san was probably going to worry about it anyways but she had learned if she fretted about what everyone stronger than her was going to do all the time she'd probably have shot herself in the head by now.

"C'mon, I've got some good sake at home if you need a drink to ease your nerves. You can even sleep over if you get too hammered." she offered with a wink. One of the many things she had learned from papa was good sake always made everything better, Tatsou-san reminded her of him a little so maybe he would have this same philosophy.

Tatsuo looked at her for a moment and took a deep breath. Sake sounded just about right after this ordeal. He did not take her hand but stood up on his own.

He pulled out a cig as he collected his thoughts. He wasn't afraid of the man's power; he'd seen his share of ridiculously strong people and that never impressed him. What he feared were the implications of Yun being here. The man was possibly the one person on earth that could actually beat the crap out of Eiji, and that always made his boss mad and frustrated. During his last training spree he had nearly lost his mind and had delegated all Wo Shing matters to Tatsuo for a long time. His power had increased greatly, but their work had suffered... not to mention his temper.

He couldn't imagine what kind of shit storm awaited them this time.

...and then the image of her blushing face and her words hit him all of a sudden.

Did she say something about 'our bed', 'going to her home' and 'sleeping over'?

And he believed she'd just winked a him.

Tatsuo turned to look at her once more, his piercing gaze fixed in hers. Once again he saw the beautiful woman behind the tough Wo Shing assassin mask, and his eyes ran slowly through her features, taking it all in. He usually didn't like to mix work with pleasure, but after tonight's incident his work ethics could go fuck themselves.

"It sounds like a plan," he said as his lips curved into a faint smirk.

Tatsuo took another roll of bills and placed them on the counter. The poor man wouldn't be happy with the state they left his shop in, but at least he could buy new windows... and a hooker or two for that kind of money. Tatsuo walked to stand right before her and gave her a tiny smile.

"Let's go to your place, Nami-san."
