Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

And so here he was at last.

Fuck this, I'm getting tired of being on errands.

He wanted so much to just go home, he hated having to work late. Five A-M in the fucking morning and his whole body ached. He was sleepy, but mostly hungry. And now he was supposed to stalk some girl.

Fucking Niwa is starting to get to me. Always a new gang forming or coming over as if this was some fucking mecca for crime lords, always a new somebody to watch, to follow, to keep tabs on...

He was rambling, had a 5 (am) o'clock shadow that itched and pretty much he needed either sleep or a gallon of coffee, and since he couldn't yet sleep it would have to be the latter. He only hoped there were coffee shops that opened this late.

Stupid daylight, every time it showed up all his favorite shops and businesses closed down. The only good thing about this time of day was the lack of people on the streets. Sure, there was still a shitload of people, but you could actually walk at your own pace instead of being pushed and carried by the rivers of people trying to get to work/home on time.

It also allowed for the kind of work he was up to right now at Eiji's request. God only knew what the fuck he wanted this time.

He sighed and walked the streets looking either for the girl who according to their intel was here right now, somewhere... or for the one cup of coffee that would help him open his eyes long enough to actually see her.

There you had the whole episode of New Years in a nutshell. What part had Eris played in the events? None at all. Well, excluding the Xin Hop men she had tortured and left broken in the street who had told her about the attack on the Tai Yeung council. She specialised in gathering information, not in failed assassination attempts or in all the tears and blar blar blar that came afterwards.

Nemetis had described the man in complete detail. He had actually been able to show her in that unique shadow manipulation way of his. That was a fairly handy trick actually. Aurael had been investigating the ‘Hong Yang Group’ ever since New Years. She was getting her demigoddess underwear all up in a bunch about not knowing who or what they were. It wasn’t pride though, even Eris could see that much. They were a threat to the Moirai simply because they operated outside the scope of Aurael’s influence and knowledge.

Really, Eris cared nothing for the demigoddess’ ideas and goals. She was getting closer, earning their trust because it suited her. And because it promised to be a spectacular show when it all came crashing down.

Syriak knew what she was and he turned a blind eye to the chaos creature. Or maybe he was trying to give her enough rope to hang herself with. That would be fun either way. But there was something morbidly perverse and entertaining with following this man around. It was clear he had no idea at all what he was doing. Silly little sheep... or maybe he was a wolf. She hadn’t decided yet.

Her curiosity was an insatiable creature, only outmatched by her love for wanton destruction and behaviour. Such bad behaviours... But really. He could do something now, any second...

Patience, was not one of her virtues.

Nor was discretion apparently. She was wearing sunglasses, 5 am in the morning and she was wearing sunglasses. And a jacket which pulled her outfit together. Everything she wore was black, black... and a little more black. A street full of people and she had no problem following just one. Of course she had no problem following him... she was only five steps behind him.

-I'm not some errand-boy, Eiji.

-But Tatsuo! You're the only one I can count on for this mission!

-No, Eiji. We have people for that. I am the Mission Coordinator and Head Recruiter, Ex-leader of the TOKYO FUCKING BRANCH! THE TOKYO, YOU KNOW, THE MOST IMPORTANT BRANCH IN LIKE THE WHOLE WORLD? Yeah. So take your little stalking-little-girls-like-I-was-pedobear task and shove it!

-Please... Tatsuo... I need you, you're so smart and strong and I'd be totally lost without you... I'm begging you!

-I'm sorry, Eiji. You'll have to do this one yourself. Try not to fuck it up this time.

"Ha! That'd teach him!"

Oh shit, he'd actually said that out loud. The weird looks he was getting from people confirmed it.

He really needed a coffee.

He came to a corner and stopped, then pulled out his pack of cigs . He was out, well almost. His emergency kit was still there: a half-smoked, squashed little stub he kept in his jacket's pocket for moments like this. Still heaven though, feeling that much-needed first drag of smoke filling his putrid lungs.

Ok, that was better. He could at least focus on find-- "AHA!!"

A girl standing next to him screamed, startled by his sudden outburst. He was pointing at the most beautiful sight he'd ever laid his eyes on since... five hours ago at that strip club he was collecting the deed from, where the most perfect pair of fake tits on earth had happily caught his load. Twice.

It was a tiny, old and rundown cart, pushed by an old man; and it had a sign that read: noodles, rice balls and COFFEE.

The man finally stopped pointing at the cart in his action pose and simply ran to the old man, waving a bunch of bills.

"Take it! Take my money!"

He shoved the money in the man's apron pocket and grabbed the container himself and started pouring cup after cup of hot coffee until there were eight of them on the tiny cart and he couldn't fit another one. The he took one, turned around and poured it down his throat in one go.

"AAAAAAAAARRRRGGHHH!!"

Yeah, it was hot. He involuntarily spat it all out, showering whoever happened to be standing there in hot coffee.

"Wadher! Ghimme wadher!!"

The old man rushed to get him a bottle of water and Tatsuo snatched it from his hand and stuck his tongue out as he poured its contents into his burning mouth. After a moment, he simply stood there, panting and looking at the coffee-drenched people in front of him.

"Eto..."

Crazy people spoke to themselves. Crazy people and geniuses. Something about the level of self inflating conversation he just had with himself suggested that it was the former of the two. Either that or he really was treated like some errand boy.

Whatever situation he was involved in shouldn’t have come as any kind of surprise. Eris knew a lot of people who enjoyed those kinds of slave and master relationships. True they were usually different genders and there were a lot of leather toys involved. Just because she had no interest in humanity didn’t mean she wasn’t paying attention to their more interesting perversions.

Wow.... just, wow. And Aurael was worried about this guy? The only person he seemed to be a danger to was himself. And the poor bastards he just spat coffee all over.

Humans...

Eris reached up and rubbed her temples. Couldn’t she just be assigned to mission objectives which involved killing people. At least they had a happy ending, for her. A happy ending for her. Instead she got to watch the captain of the special team burn every tastebud out of his head.

Was it negligence to stand there and watch it happen? Some kind of twisted form of abuse where she could derive a measure of enjoyment about watching him in self inflicted pain. Whatever Aurael wanted from this man, Eris was entirely confident the demigoddess was going to come up empty handed. She wanted to bury her face in her palms, but it would not have stopped her seeing him. Instead she contented herself to lean back against one of the shop walls.

He was bound to do something entertaining eventually. Actually entertaining, and when he did she would be watching.

"You bastard!"

A man in a suit, one that would looked expensive were it not drenched in coffee, was yelling at Tatsuo. His face was soaked as well, and it was red from anger. He was heavyset and tall and he looked as if he could break the crazy coffee-spitter in half.

"I was on my way to a job interview... it was a good job... AND NOW YOU'VE RUINED IT! YOU ASSHOLE, I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"

The other victims of his antics seemed encouraged by this and started yelling as well, pointing fingers and waving fists at Tatsuo menacingly.

Tatsuo blinked for a moment, then realized he was probably not getting out of this one with an apology. The tiny mob charged, led by the sumo-dude in the stained suit... and Tatsuo ran for his life.

Luckily the Mission Coordinator and Head Recruiter of Wo Shing was extremely quick on his feet and outrunning those people wouldn't be a problem; a few seconds and they were already falling far behind and gasping for air, especially the sumo-dude, and without him the rest weren't all that brave.

He ran for several more yards, as if his life was truly in danger; until he came to an intersection and all of a sudden turned around the corner.

After that he was gone.

And then it happened.
All that was missing were the pitchforks and torches, they would have made the whole ridiculous scene before her even more amusing. She could have sold tickets to this one. And they said white men couldn’t run fast... Tatsuo was setting some kind of land speed record as he bolted from the coffee stall.

She took a deep breath and exhaled at length before turning away, her hands stuffed into her pockets as she made her way back along the street. There were not that many people in the street, enough to suggest the city had an active nightlife but that was it. It was too cold for most people to want to congregate and linger around for the fun of it, they were all heading to or from somewhere as quickly as they could.

If the idle pace Eris set made her stand out she didn’t notice. There was no reason for her to remain, but then there was nowhere for her to be either. Aurael was going to be thrilled to hear how much of an utter failure this whole event was.

Maybe there was no secret, and that was the secret to this group. They could have been a bunch of comedians who hired a limousine for an evening and paid everyone to dress up the same to entertain themselves. It was Niwa, and she didn’t put that kind of random entertainment beyond anyone. Come to think of it ~ she might do that the next time she got bored. Get dressed up, put on all the airs and find some high society event to crash just to spice things up a little. Nothing like burning a building down with Niwa’s socially elite to liven everything up. She’d just need to get the marshmallows.

And that was the sign of how slow her week had been, she was fantasising about torching a building. Maybe she was a hopeless romantic and that was as close as she could get to an open fire. Meh... details.

Rounding the corner away from the Square she made her away from civilisation stopping at the edge of the road and waited for the traffic to pass. If there was one thing she could say for Niwa, it never lacked for cars ~ night or day. Probably those poor bastards who only just finished working.

Life was too short to spend the whole thing working. They needed to have a little fun.

"Good morning, Eris."

Eris could hear the voice loud and clear, as if a man was standing right in front of her... and yet she was alone in the corner.

"My master would like to have a word with you, if it pleases you."

Still nobody. She could hear the voice loud and clear, unaffected by the passing vehicles and the hustle and bustle of the early morning streets. It was as if the voice was right inside her head. After a few moments she would notice a man standing across the wide, busy street. He stood out simply because he was not moving, unlike everyone else. His lips did not move, but it was somehow clear to Eris that it was him the voice belonged to.

"We do not have much time, so I would feel grateful if you graced us with a couple of minutes of your time."

Suddenly the cars began to stop as if the light had changed, but it was still green. All the drivers however seemed to think otherwise and calmly brought their vehicles to a full stop. Way back a few people honked, but they eventually felt silent as well.

The road was clear for her to walk across the street.

When the voice came she did not crane her neck around looking for the source. It was similar to the sensation of walking into a spider web, no one else could see it ~ it was something only she could experience.

Eris had no issues at all stepping out in front of what had once been a flow of traffic. Why? Because she could alter reality if some drunk decided he didn’t want to play nice with whatever her mysterious friend had just accomplished. A few minutes was the least she could offer... especially when her curiosity was engaged. And he had certainly achieved that.

Anything was going to be a step up from the coffee spitting clown.

It had to be.

There was no caution in her step, no hesitation. She was in all things the master of her surroundings and it showed. The confidence and assurance, humans may have thought they possessed such ~ but it would have been a pale comparison. Dragons, even in human form, had a certain presence.

Her boots carried her all the way to her waiting host, if that was the right term. It had been an invitation after all. “I would be happy to speak to your master.” There was a small thrill that ran up her spine whenever she got to use that word. Master implied so much about a relationship, and anytime a meta human used the term it just begged questioning. It was not uncommon for dragons to keep slaves, for the most part Eris had never had need for one... or trusted anyone that much. That could change one day.
