  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Eris stepped along the centre of the street. Directly across from the Park there were very few people who still lingered in the parks after dark, unless they were up to no good. There was never a lack of people who fit that description. The road was coated in a thin layer of powdered snow, the flakes were still falling down around her. It was not something Eris could see exactly, but she felt every time one of the frozen flakes settled against her hair or skin. It was almost uncanny, the momentary peace and tranquillity before the black SUV turned down into the street the black haired woman was wandering down.

She did not move to step out of the way, the only indication she knew the vehicle was there had been the slight upturn of her lips as she stepped directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle. They weren’t speeding, but the vehicle did not look like it had any intention of stopping or veering.

It was faint at first, but the hairline silver cracks along her skin started to glow All around her it was like a shield appeared, a dome that the snow just vanished into. But the ignorant driver of the vehicle saw nothing, not until it was too late. By then, breaking in the snow was not going to stop them in time.

It was not like hitting a wall, the entire front end of the vehicle slammed down into the ground, ripping and warping the steel like the car had just been compacted. The twisted steel carcass skidded to a halt directly in front of the dragon in human form. The doors were thrown open and the four armed occupants poured out into the street, torn between staring slack jawed at when was left of the vehicle and pointing their weapons at the woman who had done it.

It was so instant, the sheer disappointment written all over her face like a child who was just told the Easter Bunny was not real. She actually took a step away from him, taking slow deep breaths. For a moment she thought about changing, about letting the chaos loose. But to what end? Eris would have torn him limb from limb in his human form... that he only had a human form... It meant that he was not a dragon, not a real dragon. So he had either lied to her or she had filled in the blanks how she had wanted to.

Mostly, she was offended that he had not corrected her assumption he was a true dragon. Maybe it was why he was different, maybe it was why he didn’t have an agenda regarding her. Maybe was a convenient excuse to make up for his lack of honesty.

He was baiting her to use her abilities, to show off... why? What did he have to gain from it? Did he wanted to know the extent of her control before the chaotic energies ripped the world around her apart? Was that it?

Did it matter?

The hairline cracks along her skin started to dim again, in the background she could still hear the dying men. “I have somewhere I need to be.” Even her voice carried how wounded she was by his sudden revelation. Needing to be somewhere else was not entirely a lie. She did need to be elsewhere, report in what she had learned ~ and the information was time sensitive... But she lingered a moment longer. Giving him the opportunity to say goodbye, maybe that way he wouldn’t look for her.

Arthur noticed the way her facial features changed to that of what appeared to be disappointment. Was it something he had said. He had been nothing but truthful to her she had never asked the extent of his powers. He was a dragon or at least part of one never to be a true dragon with an additional form. He could only breath fire but that was it. She apparently had more to her powers but he was no longer going to ask for her to show them. He couldn't ask anymore about her powers and it seemed that she had thought more of him than what he had told her. He was going to try to make it work.

"You know that I have never been untruthful to you about anything you have asked of me. I don't know what it was you expected of me but I have been into you from the moment we met which isn't something that happens with everybody." He had a gentle smile while talking trying to lighten the mood and maybe just maybe he could make her less disappointed. "I think I can say that there is chemistry between us or at least I thought there was. I don't want to say goodbye but just a see you again." He didn't know if it would change her mind about him but he felt like telling her that he has been truthful. He would never mean to hurt her but she seemed to have a different view of him. He hoped that he would see her again and the struggle in his head would continue. If she decided not to see him any more than he would have to find a way to get over it. He wouldn't be able to kill her at least not at this moment.
