  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Eris stepped along the centre of the street. Directly across from the Park there were very few people who still lingered in the parks after dark, unless they were up to no good. There was never a lack of people who fit that description. The road was coated in a thin layer of powdered snow, the flakes were still falling down around her. It was not something Eris could see exactly, but she felt every time one of the frozen flakes settled against her hair or skin. It was almost uncanny, the momentary peace and tranquillity before the black SUV turned down into the street the black haired woman was wandering down.

She did not move to step out of the way, the only indication she knew the vehicle was there had been the slight upturn of her lips as she stepped directly into the path of the oncoming vehicle. They weren’t speeding, but the vehicle did not look like it had any intention of stopping or veering.

It was faint at first, but the hairline silver cracks along her skin started to glow All around her it was like a shield appeared, a dome that the snow just vanished into. But the ignorant driver of the vehicle saw nothing, not until it was too late. By then, breaking in the snow was not going to stop them in time.

It was not like hitting a wall, the entire front end of the vehicle slammed down into the ground, ripping and warping the steel like the car had just been compacted. The twisted steel carcass skidded to a halt directly in front of the dragon in human form. The doors were thrown open and the four armed occupants poured out into the street, torn between staring slack jawed at when was left of the vehicle and pointing their weapons at the woman who had done it.

Arthur had gotten a tip that something was going down in the park tonight so he was already on his way to check it out. As he started walking through the park he got a familiar feeling that told him a dragon was close. Could it be her he thought. The one dragon that had messed up his thoughts for the past couple of weeks. The one that caused him to visit that night club every night to find out if she had returned. Arthur was so confused after his first meeting with a dragon in Niwa. he didn't even care about this mission with his triad brothers and sister he only cared about this woman. It got him thinking he now had a reason to come back from this mission alive which would be to ultimately get with this woman. It was so confusing to him because he was supposed to kill dragons not fall for them. He picked up the pace running through the park towards the source of the feeling the snow around him flying off the ground with his heavy steps all to find the dragon in question. What would he do if it was her he didn't know but only time would tell.

When he felt like he was running forever his heart was racing but he could see a scene about to unfold. He knew that he was near the dragon and could physically see something. He saw a faint glow come from the one person and he witnessed the van hit something like an invisible wall and warp until the very frame itself was twisted. He saw people get out of the car and point something at the person. Arthur had to act fast and hurried to get closer to the scene. he was still a ways away to not be seen by anybody but was close enough to make out who the people were. The one that got out of the car were the very triads that he may well be p against soon and they were all pointing guns at the person who stopped and totaled their vehicle. He looked closer and then noticed that the feeling was right it was HER. The very dragon that he had developed feelings for and there was nothing he could do to change his mind. This extraordinary woman was the cause of what happened to the van. Arthur made sure to stay out of sight but still able to see what was happening. Even if he wanted to help he would never be able to make it in time to stop them from firing their guns at her. Arthur hoped that she was powerful enough to not get hurt by this encounter or else he would never stop kicking himself in the ass for not trying to help her.

The moment one of the armed men figured out that Eris was the real thread he pointed the muzzle of his automatic weapon at her, she could feel the fear quaking through his grip on the gun. “Now now.” She cooed oh so sweetly. “Is that any way to treat a woman?” The second his companions seemed to recover their own wits they were sent sprawling into the street. The sonic blast had centred on Eris, whirling into a symphony of ice and snow from the road as the force of the blast knocked the men from their feet.

She only needed one alive to question. The other three were of no use to her. ‘eenie meenie miney moe...’ As she seemed to toy with her choices the gravity field which had crushed the front end of their vehicle shifted, lifting all four men and even the snow which had survived the sonic blast metres into the air. It was like shaking a giant snowglobe. One of the unfortunate men still had hold of his weapon.

In his defense, he tried... he tried to save himself and his companions. Only he pulled the trigger long before she was in his sight. The pulse in gravity was so brutal, by the time all four men slammed back into the ground it was like falling out of a third storey window. Their screams echoed out across the park as bones shattered. The gravitation field did not let up then, pinning them to the ground with enough pressure they could hardly breathe. That was hardly her problem though...

Crouching down beside the nearest victim, Eris whispered to him. The silken tones of her voice not meant to travel. “Tell me what the Empress has planned for the Tai Yeung?” He could see the light cracked along her perfect skin, see the luminous eyes that held him pinned as surely as the gravity did. He tried to speak and she eased the gravity enough so that he could get the words out.

As soon as the group of men started pointing their guns at Eric Arthur reacted he only had his normal dagger with the golden dragon claw design on him so he unsheathed it and charged. He didn't yell out or anything because they had guns while he only had a dagger. The only thing he had on them was his speed which was unhindered because he wasn't wearing his armor. He closed the gap quickly with his dagger held firmly ready to strike the first guy. If he could just get to the first guy he would have no problem moving from one to the other. Good thing that they were targeting Eris so that he would be able to get up to them with no problem.

As he was about to attack he saw all the men get hit up into the air and just stay suspended before they all cam crashing down to the ground. Arthur heard their bones crack and break as they all hit the ground with a sickening crunch. They were all pinned most likely by what Arthur himself had experienced and normal humans seemed to be effected differently by it he guessed. When he got to where they were he noticed Eris bend down and what looked like to him whisper something into the ones ear. "Well look who we have here having some fun without me?"he gave a little chuckle at his words. He was a little sad that he wouldn't be doing any fighting tonight because it looked like Eris had everything under control but just in case he kept his dagger unsheathed in his hand. He didn't know what would happen and better safe then sorry he always thought. So many thoughts running through his head regarding her but he hadn't even set up the date yet so he would just enjoy the conversation with her. "It seems that you have everything under control here and to think I ran over to be the knight in shining armor sort of speak."

Eris simply lifted her hand to him to stop. Dragon or no, the force of the gravitational field surrounding her would have been enough to rip even Arthur to the ground. It was not that she was immune to the effect, but rather that she could neutralize the effect on herself. Of course, the idea of pinning Arthur to the ground was not entirely unappealing... instead of being able to entertain those thoughts she had to listen to the pathetic sack of meat beg for his life one secret at a time. Honestly, she was quite surprised about how much he knew. There was something to be said for the accuracy of Moirai information.

The instant they were of no further use to her, she reached down and closed her fist around his throat before ripping out his windpipe and tossing it away. Sightless eyes watched him drown to death in his own blood before the gravity field began to subside. She could have slammed them into the road over and over again until there was nothing left but red splatters. But listening to the scream was almost as much fun.

And she had company that was worth her time.

The moment Eris would have stepped towards him, Arthur would have felt the gravity shift and change. Nothing beyond what he could have endured though. “My own personal Knight in Shining Armour?” Her smile played along her lips as she stepped up to Arthur, taking the time to circle around him in the snow like a predator. “I am not sure I would want a Knight in Shining Armour. It seems you’ve forgotten that I am the Dragon in this story and not the Distressing Damsel. Careful I do not eat you.” She winked playfully, completely ignoring the carnage and moans behind her.

“I doubted that I would ever see you again.”

She just stopped him before he got any closer so instead of going forward he noticed that she was glowing again which meant she was using her abilities. He decided to wait for her to finish what she was working on finding out whatever it was she needed. This was her power and judging by the moans of pain coming from the 6 gang members in her grasp she had them under a lot of pressure. Arthur watched as Eris who had apparently found out what she wanted from the man walk up and literally rip his throat out. It did kind of shock him but a couple of things were definitely apparent to him as he watched the man drown in his own blood. One she was a dragon of chaos and two he had done similar things to dragons that got in his way. He did realize that he didn't want to be on the receiving end of those powers at all. Well that not being entirely true he did rather enjoy how close he was to her that night in the club where she pulled him on top of her with her ability to control gravity. All that was left of the men were in so much pain that they probably wouldn't last that much longer anyway so he paid no attention to them.

What he wanted to give his attention to was now circling him like some kind of predator stalking its prey. She had joked about what he said wanting to be her knight in shining armor but joking aside she still had her playful tone about her. She did wink and smile but it was only for the more playful tone when she spoke. "Yes you could eat me right now on the spot but something tells me you wont or at least not right away." he said with his own playful tone and smile. She had not expected him to find her again let alone run into her like this out of the blue. "Well I have been seeking you although I guess lady luck just favored me tonight. I have returned to the club I met you in to no avail that you never returned to that place. I have even tried to get my thoughts in check as it was you who always were in them." he was so confused but it was true he had been seeking her out. He couldn't get her out of his head so he figured he would follow his gut and go for what he felt was right. "You have been in my thoughts almost every day since last we met. I would like to extend to you an offer to go to dinner or lunch and talk further getting to know each other. Would you like to join me on this date." She had promised him but he wasn't going to make her do anything considering if she wanted to she could probably crush him with a mere thought. If she did decline he would still try because try as he did he couldn't stop thinking about her. It was the forbidden love of his ways as a dragon slayer.

Was he telling her what she wouldn’t do, or what he hoped she wouldn’t do. Because in matters of who she did and did not eat, Eris made no plans and no promises. What was the point of being a creature of chaos if she knew what she was going to do and say every minute of the day. Then again, she didn’t make a habit of chewing on people who interested her. And he did interest her. Apparently he was interested in her as well. Or he was very obsessed with that dive she had met him in. All the little Goths running around.

She completed a full circle around him listening to him invite her out on a date? The remains of the Xin Hop man’s throat was still cooling on her hand and he was asking her out. “I am trying to decide if you are crazy, or have a death wish.” Eris grinned as she watched him. The glow along her exposed skin starting to lessen. “I am starting to think both.”

She actually chuckled as she came to a stop in front of him. Arthur had it all over her in height, build, at least until she gave up the human guise. Then he would have his hands full. “I don’t really do coffee or dinner and a movie.” She couldn’t actually see anything so the whole ‘watch something together’ was out. Unless it was theatre. But that wasn’t what he was asking. “Nor do I need the premise of a date to get to know you better.” She was getting to know him right now.

Not much could have banished the wicked smile that played along her lips. Snow, blood, the twisted carcass of the car and the sounds of dying men... it was a fairly ideal evening for her.

Maybe it was a mistake to just come out and say that he was actively searching for her he didn't want to look like a stalker. It didn't seem like she thought of him that way but only time would tell. This was his chance to find out a little or maybe get some info on her. He did feel the gravity around him which was similar to what he felt at the club but it was different. She thought he was crazy and had a death wish. He didn't have a death wish but he might of been crazy...Crazy for her maybe but he had to make this work. He didn't want to scare her away. "Well I can assure you I'm not as crazy as you might think but then again everybody can be considered crazy." Everybody was crazy in there own way there was no going against that. He noticed the glow of her skin was fading. That meant the gravity would also fade returning to normal soon. She did have the warm blood of the man behind her on her hand that would soon be getting cold but he couldn't think of a better way to meet her. She would be a challenge and it was one that he would be willing to take on.

She finally stopped circling him and answered the question he had asked saying that she didn't do any of the things he had mentioned to get to know him. This was as good a place as any to continue their conversation from the club. He needed to know what she could do. If he got on her bad side he needed to know what she was capable of. "So other than that little trick you used on the van and people what else are you capable of doing. I am intrigued to know what you can do. iv only run into a few of our kind and none of them were as powerful as you."

“I do this amazing thing with my mouth.” Eris all but purred, whatever this game was they were playing was something she enjoyed. Of course that was not what he had asked her about, but she was entitled to her secrets. Were they really secrets though? She told him that she manipulated reality... what more was there to say? It pretty much covered all the bases. Was she powerful? That was a matter of perspective, there were things that she could not influence. Even other dragons were a challenge for her to take on. Syriak foremost among them. He could have destroyed her in a matter of seconds if the notion took him, but he continued to tolerate her ~ and why not, she was working for him after all.

Was that why she was doing the bidding of his demigoddess?

Respect for any creature had not exactly been something which she had in abundance, but she did not have a death wish either. Most days at least... some days she embraced the chaos of her existence to its fullest.

Like toying with the dragon before her. She had no idea what he could do, how old he was or what his intentions towards her really were. Dinner? She didn't think so.

“All we ever do is talk about me, I am rather curious about you...” She winked playfully, the glow in her eyes and along the cracks on her skin shimmering with intensity again. “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” Now that was a delicious thought. Somehow she would have been happy with whatever he decided to present her with. It had felt like an eternity since she had given into her real form.

"Well what would you like to know? I have been around for quite some time and saw many of our kind die which is why it has been a while since I ran into someone as unique as you." He wasn't going to admit that he was the one that killed them. What was he crazy he would never admit that he was the sole cause of the dragons disappearing through time. It would be like having a death wish and something that he would like to avoid. He noticed her eyes and the cracks on her skin were glowing again meaning she was about to do something so he decided to give her a taste. It would only be a little bit of a show. Around Arthurs eyes were glowing and looked like actual fire as well as the flames coming out of his mouth as he smiled.

He could do more but he would show more after she did more. It felt like she had more to show and if she did have a dragon form he would have to come up with some kind of excuse to cover for his non dragon form. "I am afraid I don't have an actual dragon form I am restricted to this human body for as long as I live." He was saddened or at least looked that way. It was an act and hopefully she would buy it because every pureblooded dragon would have a dragon form. She didn't need to know that he was a half-dragon.
