| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Success. In the past weeks, the Tai Yeung had launched a successful campaign against the Xin Hop. Their supply routes were cut and their abilities restricted to the few areas in Chinatown that dared to back them. But still, they were very strong. One of the greatest concerns with Jin was not whether or not the Tai Yeung would come out on top--everyone knew that they were the leading favorites--but the aftermath. What would happen after this all ended? Would the Tai Yeung be reduced to a crippled beast, easily toppled by the Red Dogs or even the Lai Gang? The conflict with the Xin Hop was already reaching beyond expectations. It was dragging out. With the limited supplies that Jin could retrieve through Koyuki Tachibana (his secret endorser) as well as the few moments of assistance from those cops, there was still much work to be done. The Tai Yeung council were livid. Jin, Silk, and Tao were the main backers of the chairman, with the majority of the rest opposed or too scared to speak out against the Xin Hop. The resources at Jin's disposal were very limited, so with each failed attempt, it set their campaign back drastically. The Tai Yeung needed another boost to get an upper hand in the conflict... "What do you think you're doing!?" A livid Uncle Rat blared from Jin's phone. "I assure you, Uncle, that we are merely acting in retaliation. We are preserving the Tai Yeung way just as--" "Cut the crap, boy. You're breaking rules here. You're breaking tradition. Do Grandfather Tsao and Bao know that you're going against their wishes?!" Silence. Jin paced around the room with his phone in one hand and a lit cigarette in another. "What you're doing is wrong, boy. This is not the way we do things in the Tai Yeung Group. You are abusing your power! Who do you think you are? These are lives and livelihoods at stake! And you're just going to throw them away for a measly fight with some mainland pricks who want to act tough? Open your eyes!" "If we let them take from us, everyone else will see it. The Red Dogs, The Sonny Boys, The Lai Gang. If they see these outsiders come in and take what they want from us, then they'll do the same as well. Where is your pride? Where is your honor? Our organization will be seen as weak and spineless if we let the Xin Hop walk all over us." "We are not in a time of war, Tsui. We fight our wars with our wallets and our profits. We're not those punk children who squabble over every little thing." "Then what are we to do to those who've died? Those who we've killed? They've--" "Don't be delusional. We've lost nothing. A few nobodies here and there is not what we need to go to war for." "But there's much more on the line, Uncle." "Enough! There will be a banquet tonight and I will make sure that the council knows of your underhanded ways, Chairman. I'd look into finding office elsewhere when the new year arrives." The call ended abruptly, with Jin staring at the ashes that had burnt on the tip of his cigarette. He placed his phone slowly into his pocket and stood against the wood blinds of his wall windows. "What a day." He followed with a sigh. Edited by MaKeNsHiZeRo, Dec 30 2013, 10:47 PM.

Current Abilities:Lightning manipulation “We stop looking for monsters under the bed when we realise they’re inside of us.” Aurael stepped from the Limousine the moment the door was opened. Flat soled shoes, her simple white dress flowing around her legs as she walked. She wore a white three quarter length jacket which pulled the whole outfit together, but did nothing to disguise her now obvious state of pregnancy. Her silver hair was clipped up without much elegance or fuss, yet she still looked the part. The demigoddess could have been wearing a potato sack and she still would have looked the part. Stepping out beside her was a striking man who was pushing the upper scale of the six foot range and was built like a bodyguard. A highly reflective pair of glasses over his eyes. The tailored designer of his suit was the only thing suggesting that this man was anything more than Aurael’s protection. There was nothing rushed in her step as she walked up to the Chinatown establishment. It was midday for the restaurant so she would not have appeared too out of place. Stepping into the darker room her eyes guided over the few patrons that were there, focusing more on the ‘presence’ the Triads had in the building. She was risking a lot, but Fiora’s information deal with Scarlett Rose was of little interest to Aurael. She had her sights on a different prize. That was probably the reason she had gotten Eris involved and Nemetis was an invaluable resource her current companion placed at her disposal. “Do you have a reservation?” The middle aged woman asked, pulling Aurael’s attention from the restaurant space. “No I do not.” She replied with a smile to the hostess, her silver sapphire eyes falling on the woman. “I was hoping to speak with Jin Tsui. It is a matter of some urgency.” That was one way to cut to the chase. The woman just nodded, extending her hand towards the comfortable waiting seating and disappeared though the archway. There was nothing Syriak could say to her that he had not already voice. His caution was well founded, and part of the reason why he had insisted on accompanying her. After the incident at Dusk he had barely let her out of his sight. And now the waiting... |

...it wasn't long. "And in whose presence am I to be honored with?" A deeper voice faintly called from up the stairs. A man with golden eyes and a face layered with scars and adorned in an all-black suit with a white dress shirt patiently and cautiously stepped down toward the waiting area. He took the sight of the beauty with a hint of caution--good looking women were usually a sign of danger. There were so many in the past that Jin had met, but very few stuck and very few had proven to be worthy. Still, Jin could feel something different about this woman. Were the heavens trying to relay a message to the man? Or was his mind merely playing tricks on his aging soul? He walked down the stairs and stood several feet in front of the woman. She was the one who came from the limousine, and she was here for business with Jin and Jin alone. That meant something more. "Good afternoon. My name is Jin Tsui." He started with a bow, breaking his gaze only for a split second as a means to wave off the hostess and the guard at the door. "What can I help you with?" |

She watched him approach, gauging his caution. He did not know who she was or what she represented, yet he still made the appearance himself... and in a timely manner. That alone earned him one of her more gracious smiles. The softly spoken woman waited until he had introduced himself before speaking. “It is a pleasure, Jin. Please, you may call me Aurael.” She inclined her head respectfully, deliberately decided that she would be on a first name basis with this man... he was after all, someone she had become very interested in. “I was hoping there was somewhere we could speak freely and in complete confidence.” He had ushered other people from the immediate room, but there could have been any number of surveillance devices installed. Truthfully she would have been surprised to learn if there were none. “I assure you, my intentions are completely honourable, I have delicate information which is intended for your ears alone.” That was the easiest way she could sum it up. Either Jin had some space which was free of bugs, or they could have stepped back into the limousine which she and Syriak arrived in. That would be an interesting test to their introduction. Aurael was anything but intimidating, her companion however. He was another story entirely. The Moirai were not well know, not yet. That was potentially about to change. Aurael had a measure of the man Jin Tsui was already, she would not have chanced meeting him if she was not at least confident of an outcome. It helped that the Traid’s little private was no longer private or little. Information was available under every stone she had over turned. |

"Yes, sure. Have you two eaten yet?" Jin obliged, jokingly pointing toward the rump on her stomach. It was probably the most dangerous thing Jin could have done in the situation. He recalled hearing a conversation from his guards outside his door one boring night. The two were talking about pregnant women and the strange dilemma that men were given about them. Apparently, you never assume a woman is pregnant, no matter what. Still, he took the risk as he arrogantly assumed that there was no way that she could not be pregnant. "It's a nice day outside--rare for this kind of season. We'll sit down and yum cha--drink some tea. Does that sound okay? Or are you in a hurry?" Without even waiting for a reply, Jin motioned his hand toward the hostess who had been watching from afar, to which she promptly nodded and scurried off to get a private table set up on the upstairs balcony. It was a nice area for dining, but one that was rarely opened to the public. It did not pose the kinds of views that the condominiums and the Sky Lounge offered. There was no beautiful ocean or skyline to revel at. Just a nice garden overlooking the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. Many people knocked on the view, but Jin found it to be the best in the city. |

At his motion, Aurael rested her hand over her stomach and smiled. She had no problem at all with him identifying her physical state or that he referenced it. Early stages of pregnancy were where the mistakes came on, not seven months along. “We are perfectly fine.” She chuckled. “And I have all day.” Aurael assured him, he was the one who was about to be running out of time. While not exactly hungry, tea sounded fantastic. Without looking to her companion she motioned for Jin to lead the way. If she had been more familiar with him she would have offered him her hand to escort. Perhaps in time. “I have not spent any time in Chinatown before, I am starting to think I have been missing one of the best parts of Niwa.” It was an honest compliment, flattery was not something she usually laid on, but she was quite taken with the restaurant and the gardens. It would have only been a moment before she followed him out onto the private balcony. “I am curious how business has been.” It was clear from her tone that she was not asking for the profit report from the restaurant. She was fishing for something, right now it was exactly how open Jin was prepared to be. If her appearance had not confirmed as much it was about to become abundantly clear the silver haired woman knew a lot more than she should have. |

"It is the best part of Niwa--no need to take my word for it. Roam the streets, meet the people. Many of those residing inside of our invisible walls are not native Japanese, but we are Niwanese all throughout. Many of the men you see selling food on the streets or even slinging fake designer bags have worked many long days and nights in this city. To deny them the honor of being included with the rest of the citizens... is a crime." Jin went on ahead to discuss (more like lecture) about the food gems and fashion gems that was Niwa's very own Chinatown. Most critics would comment on how lackluster the storefronts and the quality of service were huge detriments to any success of achieving fame for the chefs and designers, but Jin merely laughed at that. He went on about how the Chinese mentality was "results-only". It didn't matter how ugly the storefront was so long as the product was worth it. He added on that while the majority of people in Niwa's Chinatown were Chinese, this part of the city had become a hub for the other foreign entities--non-Japanese--who wanted to live without dealing with the criticism and scrutiny of the Japanese. There was a wealth of knowledge that Jin had picked up since his quick tenure as the Tai Yeung Chairman. So many different people were under the umbrella of his organization. "Business has been..." His gaze fixated onto the sky above him, as though that would help with his fishing of the perfect word. His last word trailed on, leading his listener into a mysterious ride where they both would jump to the same conclusion. "Difficult." His eyes sharpened and his demeanor shifted into a much more serious tone. It was clear that Aureal was not interested in the restaurant business. They were a dime a dozen in Chinatown, let alone Niwa (those damn people on the Waterfront keep winning the yearly award). He brought his cup of black tea to his lips and blew on it lightly, stirring the aromas and flavors of the brew into his nostrils. "Why do you ask?" He took a brief sip, then placed the glass down on its coaster. "I mean, really." |

If it was one thing Aurael could respect, it was his directness. “I have been following your war efforts very closely.” Once it was out there was no undoing the damage. She had wanted the Moirai to remain neutral, but the fact was they couldn’t. “I represent a faction within Niwa who make a business out of knowing everything which is happening. For the most part we wished to remain neutral, especially in internal conflicts.” Reaching forward, the silver haired woman picked up the tea he had offered during his education of the beauties of Chinatown. “Our interests are not so different from your own, we position ourselves to best protect and ensure the prosperity of our family. But this Empress... Xifeng and her Xin Hop lackeys would not stop with Chinatown if they were successful in usurping your position.” Her silver and sapphire coloured eyes continued to regard Jin, measuring him, gauging his reaction to her words. Undoubtedly there would always be eyes and ears on the Chairman, but she hoped they were his eyes and ears and not those of his lacklustre councilmen. “I know that your council has refused any action which could lead to war... and I know that you are defying them.” The information was not difficult to come by, every low level enforcer for the Tai Yeung knew that war was not sanctioned. How else could the council keep a tight grip on that leash? “Just as I know information relevant to Qiao Xifeng and her operations, present and future.” If she did not have his attention now, she was never going to have it. Her motivations had been made completely transparent. He and the Tai Yeung were the lesser of two evils... the Chinatown he had spoken about with passion and fondness would burn to the ground if the Empress had her way. All that was left to negotiate was price, but Aurael had no need for money. |

The audacity. The nerve. Jin was taken aback at the blunt reply of his guest for the afternoon. She was a fair beauty (she would give birth to beautiful children along with it) with a sharp mind. Whomever she worked for was a good enough of a source. While it was common knowledge to the entire city now that the Tai Yeung were feuding with the Xin Hop, what Jin found most remarkable was the woman's organization. Jin saw the woman and much more within her. She was a simple agent, a missionary, sent from a much larger organization in hopes of converting the Tai Yeung to be their client. To allow another hand to influence the Tai Yeung... the elders of the council always advised against this. They had always stated that the Tai Yeung must remain alone and autonomous, analogous to other organizations. With agencies and groups such as the one Aurael came from, you give in an inch and they took a mile. But Jin had done this type of deal before. He had done it several times. First with Koyuki Tachibana, who had offered her wealth into the hands of the Tai Yeung so that they could fund their war effort, then next with the CRASH. While those police officers were not directly involved, the two organizations had cut specific deals to ensure their own individual survival. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, after all. Jin listened intently to the words spoken from Aurael. The Xin Hop were ambitious alright--Xifeng would not have it any other way. They came into Niwa with their hearts set on the throne, but they came unaware of the hordes and masses of other gangs who have been lying in wait all this time. The Tai Yeung were different. They had more than just greed on their minds; they had revenge. They sought for their own conquest of Niwa--did Aurael's organization know Jin's ambitions? It was a humanistic feature to always want more. Content is a state of being often with a negative connotation. Were they aware that the Tai Yeung believed in a world beyond their own borders? "What is your price?" Jin asked politely, now curious as to what type of trade with the white-haired devil had in mind. |

Aurael lightly shook her head. “There is no price I could put on this. No, this is a gift... one I hope will be well received and the basis for our future relationships.” And they would have future relationships, of that one detail the silver haired woman had no doubt at all. Jin was honourable, it was the single reason she was sitting before him in place of a messenger. That and she needed him to heed her words and to take her seriously. “All that I ask is that you do what you believe is in the best interest of the Tai Yeung Group with this information.” It may have sounded cryptic, but she hoped the words that followed would bring exactly what she was implying into focus. Jin was a shrewd man, she did not for a second doubt his deductive thinking. The current council had failed so spectacularly, they were no longer able to provide what was in the best interest of anyone but themselves. “The Empress will be meeting at midnight with members of the Hong Yang Group to secure her position as the rightful ruler over Chinatown. The exact location of this meeting will be made known to Scarlett Rose.” No he did not miss hear her, Aurael was abundantly clear on what the Empress was meeting for and completely ignored the fact she had not won the war yet. “Unfortunately I have very little information on the Hong Yang Group and their resources, only that they have been responsible for supplying the Xin Hop with munitions.” “She intends on using the imminent slaughter of your council as a bargaining chip for why the Hong Yang should continue to support her claim.” There was gravity to her words, enough weight that he did not need to question how serious her claim was. “Our agent is reliable, and their source was a higher ranking member of the Xin Hop. The Xin Hop plan on assassinating the council during the evening’s festivities.” There were little details on exactly how they would attack beyond mention of an assassin and brute force. Aurael had no way of knowing how many spies Xifeng had managed to plant within the Tai Yeung ranks. More than that, she was not in the business of speculation. “As I said, this information is a gift. Yours to do with as you please.” She leaned forward slightly on her chair, holding Jin’s eyes. “But I trust that you have your own idea on how the Tai Yeung would be best served by this. Every war has casualties...” Her point was subtly made. If Jin picked up that cup it would be his burden to bear. |
