Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

C.R.A.S.H. had received a call about a high intensity meta fight in the area, and Peter had brought a few of his men to the scene to check it out. It was a mess, there was blood all over the alleyway. A handgun had been found nearby, unfired. It had been sent in for processing and to determine the owner if it wasn't stolen.

What certainly told them the combatants certainly weren't human was the amount of blood all over the alley but no bodies, and the fact that it looked like someone had been slammed into the walls hard enough to leave cracks and craters, and there was even a hole in the wall big enough to fit the body of a small person. Possibly female.

A lot of DNA samples were around, even without the blood. Long black hair, a lot of it. Strips and shreds of clothing that had been caught in the wall when a body went through it. It was all sent off to the NCPD lab since they didn't have a lab tech of their own yet.

"This must have been one hell of a fight..."

“Y-y-you’re right… Captain. You’re right.” Lyn said with a stammer as she let the pieces of the phone slip off her hands and fall to the ground. She pushed herself to her feet, and she shook her head.

“No, you’re right. Yeah Definitely! We didn’t find a body! She could still be alive! We need to find her! I’ll follow the shit out of that blood trail!” Lyn said as she took control of her emotions again thanks to Peter’s words. She needed to keep calm and be rational. The blood was still fresh-ish. She might still be nearby. Lyn moved over to the outside. Her first step caused her foot to sink to the ground and she stopped.

Weird, her foot was still… her body was still metal. She unshifted after she took out her foot, and quickly went to the streets.

She saw the blood trail she found earlier, and began to follow it.

“Captain, it’s leading me out of Chinatown” She reported.

The night’s festivities began with a homeless youth with a strong drug addiction... “Oh joy... Children getting addicted to Red Eye...” The groan was audible as Officer D’Amore glanced across to his cell as it lit up like a proverbial Christmas tree, another text from Lia. The smile on his lips was sincere as he made out the XD on the message before it went blank. So maybe spending a few months away from home caused him to feel a little homesick. That, and his dear sister called religiously every week, especially weeks like this where Christmas and his birthday are involved... New years eve was simply around the corner and where was he?

Where was Officer D’Amore..? Working night shift. Epic sigh.

“Sweet Jesus... This can’t be right...” The commotion had begun from behind his work station as Officer Newman bellowed aloud. “Why do they have to keep sending us contaminated samples. I can’t work with this.” It was in that moment when Tore finally caught scent of the blood that remained under the microscope. It was unmistakable, what other creature suffered from multiple mineral deficiencies while promoting natural healing at the same time.

As he stood from his designated workspace he felt several of his co workers watch him at the corner of his eye. He voiced his opinion freely on several occasions. Almost started a fight last time, much to his surprise. “Where did that sample come from?” His tone was curious toward his fellow officer, yet stern enough to show he would not back down until his curiosity was satisfied, it was becoming a habit.

“Ahh... China Town, y’know the shitty part.”

It took only a moment for Tore to sweep his mobile and weapon from his table and gather what credentials were needed, including the area of the accident. Current reports had shown that C.R.A.S.H. were on the scene, good. They may be needed.

”Hey, where are you going?” Officer Newman barely had enough time to respond as Tore reached the doorway.

“China Town... You know, the shitty part.”

Moments passed as Niwa’s street laws opened up to interpretation as the Hayabusa screamed down streets and footpaths alike. Sure it was dangerous, if he were human... But in fact the sports vehicle thrived on high acceleration and top end braking. It was once expressed to him as ‘grin factor’ and he still uses that expression to this day. Narrow roads and condensed buildings had become prominent as he neared the scene of the abduction? Was that what they were wanting to call this now?.. From all reports it looked more like a slaughter fest.

The brilliant flashing of red and blue lights bounced off nearby buildings as Tore pulled up next to presumably an unmarked C.R.A.S.H. vehicle. What could he say, it stood out from the rust buckets that littered halfway down the street. As he unclipped his helmet his senses filled with the strewn blood from the crime scene, sure this was the place. Had he been younger he may have been enticed to feed with such an abundance of blood, both human and vampire alike, it mattered not from whom he drank from. Placing the helmet against the fuel tank Tore dwarfed the performance vehicle as he stood, to his credit he reached over six foot four with a toned physique that would suggest physical strength over agility. The motorbike’s matte black finish suited his dark appearance as he unclipped his leather jacket open to show the badge that hung freely from his neck. Running his fingertips along his scalp he pulled his length of hair back as he mentally calculated how long since the attack that would give him something to work from at least. His features would suggest late twenty’s to early thirties while his direct ethnicity could only be guessed. As he stepped away from the car he overheard Peter’s broadcast over the radio.

His silver eyes reflected slightly as he glanced across the trail of blood, it was obvious to him, but trust a vampire to know how blood gathered in the cracks of the ground. His eyes caught the silhouette of a man who resembled the ‘heart’ of C.R.A.S.H.’s team, not that he ever had a chance to meet the man. Tore only worked nights, and made a point that he will never do a double shift... Ever.

“Alive may be a problem... My analysis of the two unidentified blood samples, they are vampires. And one you really do not want to tangle with. But given the amount of blood in that alleyway, I can track it. Or, I can find your missing Lieutenant.”
There was little insinuation on how he knew these details, or how he intended on tracking them. His tone suggested he was dedicated, and capable of seeing this through.

Peter stood when he heard a motorcycle approaching, looking at the man riding it. He was fairly tall and ominous looking, but he seemed to get right down to business. "Vampires? You are saying this fight was between two vampires? If that is the case, I know for sure they fought each other since Shae is nowhere near strong enough to take on a vampire in any form. Why would two vampires fight so heavily over one victim when the streets are crawling with potential prey?"

Peter shook his head. "I suppose we can ask Shae when we find her. Lead the way."

As Peter moved to begin him, he had to satisfy a curiosity. "Do you know which one won? That way I know which one to kill."

The group would hear the revving of a motorcycle coming from around the corner and coming to a screeching halt. Jon had raced over as quick as he could, but god could he not have gotten there sooner. It seemed another officer had arrived to help search for Shae, which he was very thankful for. There was too much going on in his head for him to stand still, so as he jumped off his bike and headed towards them, he barely stood still. Hearing the butt of the final words said by the man with the silver eyes, Jon knew that he was there to help.

"Take us to her." Jon said looking around at Peter, who seemed upset along with Lyn who was having a breakdown. Inside Jon was flipping tables and punching walls, but outside he tried to stay calm. The only way to get to Shae was to follow the evidence, and if this officer that he hadn't even met could do that, then by all means he would follow him. If they found who had done this to her, no God in heaven would keep them safe. Death would embrace them, and pull them to the pits of hell. Jon was not normally the one to go for the kill, but now... things may change.

He'd do anything for Shae.
Absolutely anything.

A vampire fighting one on one with a lord would be futile, there would be no question of who would win... As Tore walked across to the crime scene he started plotting what could have been the potential outcome. The Lieutenant’s sidearm had not even been fired, which ruled out her walking in on two vampires already fighting... ‘Damn, even I would have taken the shot. But the Lieutenant was caught in the middle? And a Vampire Lord should command enough presence that no one, let alone these two could object...’

As he crouched down to one of the major splatter marks his open hand ran along the rough surface of the ground. Each unique trail found their own path as his eyes followed the two trails of blood that presumably mixed with each other as the human’s blood had become harder to track. His eyes darted off to the other trail of blood, he knew the distinct tells of a noble’s blood, the same chemical structure coursed through his own veins.

“Honestly... I think the vampire came to your Lieutenant’s defence. Disagreeing with a Vampire Lord would easily get you killed, even if they liked you. It’s a matter of respect.”
Tore’s voice held traces of personal opinion in the subject matter, and had become curious as to why a vampire would defend their thrall. Not that he would dare call the Lieutenant a thrall to her own people, he knew the value of camaraderie and it was only speculation.

He turned to the sound of a motorcycle that pulled up, his eyes reflected a look of respect to the teal haired man as he stood from his bike. It was a respect each rider held towards one another. The first officer had given the impression that the Lieutenant was the highest priority, and now the decision had been cemented by the second.

“Time is not on our side gentlemen. I will not be walking, so please... Try to keep up.” His tone gave into concern as he stood from the blood spatter. A wounded vampire will undoubtedly try to feed on something close by. His greatest concern was the Lieutenant becoming an accidental snack. The later of his comment brought a smile to his lips as he subconsciously secured his sidearm before continuing past them and breaking out into a considerable pace, comparable to a relaxed running pace for a human.

He could see as the streets of Chinatown shifted and gave way to the other areas Niwa had to offer. There was no motion of pausing, not even to retrace his steps. The blood trail had changed significantly between Chinatown and wherever the hell they were now. His suspicion lead to either the vampire’s injury had become worse, and they were bleeding more than earlier. Or during the ordeal the Lieutenant had been turned. A factor he would not dare mention to the officers that undoubtedly trailed behind him.

"You're saying that Shae was protected by the not noble vampire? Why would a vampire fight a lord over someone they don't even know? I certainly doubt Shae was friends with any vampires." He looked around, seeing all the blood spray and destruction. How much of this blood was Shae's? Which vampire had won?

But the man was right, time was not on their side right now. They needed to find Shae, whether she was still alive or not. Even if she were dead, he wanted to find her body and give her a proper burial instead of leaving her to rot somewhere.

"Understood." He said, following after. Peter was in good shape, so the pace wouldn't be an issue. He grabbed his radio, wanting to fill in Lyn. "Lyn, we've picked up Shae's trail, and it isn't the one you are following. That tells us the one you are following is likely the trail left behind by her assailant. You know what to do when you find them."

Lyn had missed the new police officer make his debut, and she missed Jon; although, she won’t complain about that considering what happened last time. With Shae missing, Lyn was determined to follow this blood trail. She was lead into a dark alleyway, and she couldn’t see the blood anymore, she took out a small flashlight as she walked forward. She grimaced as an abhorrent stench invaded her nostrils. It was like burning her nose, and she covered it with her hand.

`”What is that?” She though as she followed the blood trail deeper in the alleyway.

Lyn was wearing her entire C.R.A.S.H outfit. She had the helmet with the goggles, the vest, the knee and elbow pads, the gloves and her sidearm on her holster. They were answering a meta attack, so Peter and her were fully equipped.

She stopped as her radio picked up Peter’s voice. She glared at the blood trail, as she brought up her hand.

“10-4” She said simply as she picked up the pace and began to run again. Whomever she was following was avoiding the main streets, for some time Lyn has just been running and zigzagging through the alleyways. She didn’t even know where she was in the city, but she definitely left Chinatown. She slowed down to a walk, when she noticed the blood trail had gotten less visible.

“Urgh… damn it…”
She muttered as she arrived at a T intersection. She knelt down and flashed her flashlight to try and food the blood. She shook her head; she didn’t want it to end here at a dead end. Damn it, she didn’t want this scumbag to get away with this! She could feel the anger swell up inside of her, and was about to punch the ground, when she felt someone grab her wrist as she had her arm behind her, and she was pulled back to her feet. She could feel a cold breath against her neck, as an arm wrapped over her and her face was clutched.

“kukuku” He chuckled in her ear.

“Such a fine… specimen. You won’t be- Urgh! UWAAH!”
Lyn had shifted her arms to metal, and slammed her elbow right at his chest, weakening his grip on her. She got herself free, and grabbed his arm, and threw him over her shoulder and unto the ground. She didn’t let go of his arm, as he pulled it up and pressed her knee against his back as he tugged his arm back.

“Tss, so you like fighting cops don’t you, how do you like this?!”
Lyn said as she pulled on the arm. The thin looking vampire was making pained sound as it tried to wiggle out of her grasp. It suddenly gathered its strength, and pushed himself forward with its vampire might, forcing Lyn to let go as she was pushed back. She hit the wall a bit, but thankfully the helmet blocked some damage, and she was able to keep her focus on the undead as he got to his feet.

“Tsk, that was a f-f-fluke! You hear me?!” The vampire said as he held on to his shoulder. She nearly dislocated it. He dashed forward, and extending his own good arm for a punch. Lyn’s eyes widened, he was fast, but she managed to block the first attack with her metal forearm. He then twisted his body, and landed a kick right in her gut, she bended forward, but she also grabbed his leg tightly, smashing her metal hands against the bone, causing him to yelp in pain. She quickly shifted her body, and slammed the vampire against the wall of a building, sending him crashing through.

It wasn’t over yet.

He had saved her from that criminal in the police station. He had pulled her bloody body from the McAlister incident and rushed her to the hospital. He'd find and save her from this. He had to. There was no excuse. Nothing to get in his way. Not these officers, not the law, and sure as hell not these vampires. Jon would not allow whoever did this to his Shae to walk another night if he got his hands on him or her. They'd beg for the sun when he was done with them. He hadn't encountered a vampire before, but he was not going to back down just because of what they were. Shae didn't deserve this; none of this.

Jon took off with the Officer that said to keep up, and he did keep up. He was faster then the normal human, keeping a steady pace behind him. Fear drove him to keep his eyes on the officer's back. The last thing he wanted to do was come up to the body of the woman that he had sworn to protect, mangled and spread across the floor. Jon knew situations like this, so much blood and not a body. It normally didn't have a good ending. Though he kept positive. If one of the vampires was there to help Shae, maybe they were able to save her. They had that kind of power right? Didn't their blood heal? He didn't know for sure, but god he hoped that that's why her body wasn't there.

As they were running, Jon had to ask--"Where the hell is Lyn?!" He had known she was there at the scene, due to the fact he heard them both over the radio. On top of that, it was notified to all on duty officers what uniforms are at a crime scene.

Though, as much as he cared about Lyn--and he did, he really really did--even if he knew she went off in another direction wouldn't have made him turn to find her. Shae's side was where he needed to be... yet he hoped that Lyn wasn't getting herself into some form of trouble.

Why was the blood trail getting worse...

So much blood... Every step it was killing him slowly... How he wished he could take this from her and have it have happened to him instead.

As time passed and alleyways took the shape of streets it was apparent that they weren’t simply ‘laying low’. “Where then hell are they going?” This was a rhetorical question as his eyes darted along the trail of vampire blood they had been following for the past several blocks. Concern marred his features as the occasional smear of vampire blood was easily spotted from the street. But after the next block all he could hope to find was the familiar smear of blood brushed against the wall. His pace slowed down as he passed the next block, the trail of blood was thin. Almost impossible to see but he could smell it in abundance.

“Vampires are capable of assuming a human persona...”
‘Just like you are talking to one right now.’ There was a certain amount of humour in his tone, but nothing to sidetrack his thoughts from the matter at hand. His eyes ran along the shadows of the closest alleyway, it should have been a smile that ran along his lips as he saw the hint of blood on the ground. They were in there.

He stopped in his tracks as he looked back to the two officers, his features turned cold as he unclipped his sidearm... Feeling his hand grip along the resin stock his tone mirrored his expression. “The Lieutenant is in there. All I ask is that you assess the situation before assuming anything, we do not know the whole story yet.” His tone was solid as the concern for the vampire finally rose into consideration, it was not his place to judge, she may have been unwillingly turned decades ago. What would he do if he were in their shoes.

It was quite a distance between where the attack happened and where the blood trail was leading. This wasn't just some random safe area for a vampire to choose while they recover, this was a predetermined hide out. A home, perhaps?

The moment the man said that Shae was inside Peter unslung his assault rifle, gripping it ready to charge in. He reached for the handle, tugging the door open and aiming his rifle inside. "NCPD CRASH division!"
