Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Exhausted, Emily pulled the heavy iron door to Wade's home open. It usually wasn't an issue for her, but she was badly beaten and carrying someone. She finally got inside, laying the woman down on the table Wade treated his patients on. It was padded, but it likely wasn't the most comfortable place to be. Emily felt his bed was much better.

"Blood, need blood." She said frantically, opening the freezer and grabbing a few blood bags. She would be giving up some of her own supply, but it was emergency blood and this was an emergency. She tore to feed strip, placing it over the woman's mouth. The blood would likely revive her the moment her body realized what it was and she was gonna wake up thirsty. Good thing Emily's blood wasn't all that appetizing, she had no idea just how strong this woman would be, and she needed to have her calm before Wade woke up and came downstairs. "Drink up, drink your fill. You will need it to survive the transformation properly." She sighed. "Just be glad I survived to help you so you won't kill some poor girl like I did."

Jon wanted nothing more then to follow the fellow up the stairs, push past him and see Shae. If it was actually Shae; he hadn't confirmed or denied that it was her. There was fear that dwelled within him; he wanted it to be her but at the same time he wasn't sure he did. She was healed, but what of the state her mind was in. What had transpired in that alleyway that had caused that kind of destruction. Jon wanted to see her, wanted to hold her and scold her for being in such a place at such a time. No he couldn't do that, even if he wanted to be mad at her for being in this situation, there was nothing he could do but be there for her at this point. And that he would.

He moved in the direction that the doctor had went in, and stood there without saying a word. He would block out all other sounds, the only thing he wanted to hear was Shae's voice coming from the other room. Once he heard that, there would be nothing stopping him from getting to her side.

Salvatore’s casual demeanour did not change as he remained leaning in the doorway, his gun was holstered and his arms crossed loosely over his chest as he looked to the woman. ‘For standing up to a vampire lord you have earned my respect dear lady.’ His thoughts were compassionate as he offered a smile as he pushed off from the doorway, his casual stride brought him beside Jon and offered his hand to her.

“I am Officer Salvatore D’Amore, you and the Lieutenant are safe now.”
His voice reflected an unnatural state of calm as his eyes reassured her of his sincerity. Even if the members of C.R.A.S.H. had a different opinion Salvatore would be willing to stand in between them. After all, the lieutenant had just become family.

A certain caution reflected in his silver eyes as he regarded the gentleman beside him, not only did he care for the victim, but there was something more about him. Maybe the reports of C.R.A.S.H. enlisting Meta agents were not false after all. It was about time humanity stepped up to the challenge. It was in that moment when he overheard the crackle of a radio. Concern marred his features as he looked up to the... Captain? This was Peter Valenco, the smile was short lived as he overheard the screams presumably a vampire, his marred features returned as he could only guess how the woman was able to subdue such a creature...

‘That cannot be right...’

“What injuries did this Lord have?” His head turned back to the woman as his tone cautioned above all else the danger the officer may be in, if the vampire lord was simply playing possum and hiding in the shadows. Or if she was a Meta, she may be just as strong.

Shae didn’t want to believe him, but she could hear them... both Jon and Peter. As clearly as though they had been standing right next to her. She heard the explanation given by Emily and Wade. It had seemed so surreal, like part of the nightmare she was living in. Thank you didn’t seem to be enough to say to Wade. But he was looking at her in a way that suggested he understood what she was going through. He also wasn’t afraid of her, maybe that was because of Emily. He was in love with a vampire, that meant they were not all bad.

She tried to speak, say something, anything. But her throat was still closed and swallowing the lump down was nearly impossible. Her voice was still her own, even if would have sounded different to the people who knew her. It was more the words she used, her usual awkward way of putting things. “I should...” should what? See them? Go with them? Could she honestly still be what she was?

Physically she felt fine, she felt better than fine she felt perfect... if it had not been for the blood soaked into her clothing and matted through her hair she would have looked flawless. The vampiric affliction, or whatever it was, had cell by cell been transforming what had once been a plain ~ fade in to the background ~ girl into something incredible.

Not that Shae was going to appreciate that when she worked it out. She liked being invisible.

How Jon and Peter had managed to find her was beyond Shae’s rational processes. All that mattered was that they were there. As afraid as everyone else was, even as afraid as Shae was... she didn’t look at Wade like he was a meal. She had devoured Emily’s supply of blood and was quite possibly the best fed vampire in the whole world right at that moment. The words did not come, she had no idea what to say, or if there was anything she could say. It was her desire to see Jon that made her finally move to stand up. That morning she had woken a human mess of awkward and uncooperative limbs. But now every movement was fluid.

“Thank you.” Shae was going to keep saying it. “For all you and Emily have done for me.” Her smile was weak, but it was there.

Peter didn't get his answer as the woman moved between the group to protect the man if anything happened. Judging by her injuries, she had been in that fight in the alley. What side she was on remained to be seen. Before he could make a call Lyn's voice came over the radio, and she could be heard playing with her food, so to speak. "Your order stands, keep him alive so we can bring him into the station and contain him in the meta practice room. If that room can handle you on a rampage, I'm sure it can handle him throwing a tantrum."

Emily was a bit caught off guard by the man being a police officer and a powerful vampire. "I didn't know vampires could be cops." She sent mentally, not wanting to blow his cover if it hadn't been already. "I landed some solid punches despite him being so much stronger than me. He let his guard down when he went after the woman, and I put a hole through his chest. I missed his heart in my rush to stop him from biting her, and in his rage he wound up beating me senseless before punching me so hard I went through a wall. He retreated to heal after that, and I carried her here for medical attention."

Doctor Wade « Jesus Hands » Ackington

He laughed a bit embarrassed as he put his hand behind his head. For three years, Wade has done everything his weak body could do to help others, and he still feels genuinely awkward when they try to show their gratitude He has learned to accept it, but it was still embarrassing. This was the feeling that made everything worthwhile. People didn’t even need to pay him back, he just accepted whatever.. and booy… did they give him whatever…. He’d need a couple of storage places to keep everything that is given to him, so he tends to give it away to people that are more in need: especially the clothes and some of the food.

He went over to pick up the unused blood bag and handed it to her.

« Hey, it’s my job to tend to everyone that steps in here. » He paced his hand on her shoulder and gave her a bright smile; a small dose of courage before he turned to lead her downstairs. As he stepped down the stairs, he turned to warn her of something.

“Oh, be mindful of the ste—Argh!” His leg was swallowed by the staircase. He winced as eh shards of woods penetrated into his leg. He looked back and chuckled.

“the step, mind this step Graargh!” He said as he pulled himself up.

“I’ll heal myself downstairs” He said with a laugh as he took another step, only for the staircase to swallow his other leg. He let out a pained scream.

“Gah! Another?! Of all the the crummy luck… Yuuush” He said with tears in his eyes as he removed his leg from the stair case. Both legs injured with pieces of wood sticking out of them, and the blood stained his clothes. As he removed his leg, he went to lean against the handrail, except it shattered.

“Eh?!” Was all he could say as the adrenaline rushed, and Wade experienced the fall in slow motion, and he rolled all the way downstairs.

He lay on his back, dizzy and hurt.

“Dok-toh-ruh… A-king-ton….” He said dizzily.

Lyn D. Keell
She could be heard giggling through the radio.

“Aye, Peter-sama! Oh, don’t worry He’ll be kept alive throughout the ordeal”
She said sweetly as there was something snapping, followed by another blood curling scream. Lyn could then be heard broadcasting and requesting a pickup.

She did go off on foot, and she was some ways from the police station. She could walk all the way there, but Vampires could heal, and she’d hate to lose him.

Thud.

Thud.

It was all that Jon could hear coming from up the stairs before he felt the brush of someone's head against his leg. The doctor was definitely gifted, but he was quite clumsy. The blood that stained his leg caught Jon's attention instantly and he moved down to pick him up. The man was small, in comparison to Jon everyone was honestly, so picking him up and throwing the man's arm over his shoulder was merely like picking up a stack of papers off a desk. "I got ya." Of course he could see Shae at the corner of his eye coming from behind him, however a few seconds of helping the man wouldn't cause him to be away from her for much longer.

Turning towards the nearby table (I don't know what the layout of this place is), Jon lifted him up and sat him down onto it. No he wasn't treating him like a child... he at least wasn't trying to. He wasn't there to insult the man, just trying to help.

He could tend to himself he was sure. The very light amount of blood that drenched the officer's shirt seeped into his vest. At this moment he turned back, to see Shae. She looked different, but it didn't matter. He looked past the blood that covered her hair and body. She'd always look gorgeous to him, even if she was the unknown now to him. Whether she was different, however, she would always be the same Shae to Jon that she was the morning before. No matter what would happen to her, nothing would change his love for her.

Even if she were now the walking dead.

"Hey.." He'd said looking at her. Their eyes now matching in a way they hadn't before. A smile curled across his lips very slowly. He was just glad that she was alive... Kinda.

There was an amount of humour in his features before responding with a wink of his eye ‘It depends on how persuasive you can be, you should only work nights...’ As if she needed that for advice.

“A hole in his chest... I can see why he ran.”
His eyes looked to Captain Valenco, in hopes that he would radio that particular information back to the officer who had the vampire under control. He could make out the familiar voice of the Doctor while the other was presumably the Lieutenant. He could hear the wooden step give way as the man applied pressure to it. Salvatore’s features did not change as he looked towards the stairwell... Like clockwork the step gave way, followed by the other...

While unexpected there was no surprise in his features as the good doctor tumbled down to Jon’s feet.

Stepping across the room there was no hesitation as he glanced up along the stairwell, his eyes traced along every detail of her features as he identified who and what this woman now was to him. Her blood stained clothing was not important as he noted the way she stood, fluid, capable. The vivid colourations of her eyes cemented any reason he had to question his capabilities, she was family, in a matter of speaking. Clearly she had fed, if anything he was happy that she turned with another vampire present and knew what to do. ‘Young, but capable.’ He accepted who she was as the gentleman turned back to her. The simple gesture brought a smile to his lips as he looked across to the doctor and his assortment of injuries.

As Wade tumbled away from her, he was not the only one watching the events in slow motion. Shae could have reached over and caught him the instant he fell through the first step. But fear held her paralysed... what if she hurt him? And then the scent of his blood flooded her senses. She was full, to the point of feeling sick. But the hunger was so sudden and real. That was why they did not trust her, why she did not trust herself. If it had not been for Emily and the eight drained blood bags....... Her stomach turned at the thought of what she would have done. Holding her breath seemed to be the only recourse. At least it stopped her sense of smell.

Her eyes instantly fell on everyone in the room as she descended the stairs. Jon lifting the doctor off the ground and placing him on the table, Peter armed with his usual arsenal. Emily... and someone who she had never seen before who seemed to be giving her a knowing look. Knowing about what though? The blood bag still held in her hand. After Wade’s trip down the stairs she was terrified to release her grip on the bag. If there had been an IV in her arm it may have even made sense that she was holding it.

Everything else, every perfect detail started to fade into obscurity the moment Jon was standing before her. To her, it felt like a lifetime came and went in that moment. “Hey you.” The reply brought the smallest smile to her lips. She had wanted to see him, Jon more than anyone in the world... and she still had no idea what she wanted to say to him. What could she say?

“You wouldn’t believe the night I’m having. I umm...” Her smile faded and the words did not come, I died... I’m a vampire... “I don’t want to hurt you.” Her voice kind of failed her after that statement and she let the space between them remain.

If that wasn’t going to send off warning bells nothing would. Shae weighed maybe 110 pounds wringing wet and couldn’t have fought her way out of a wet paper bag. But she was completely serious about not wanting to hurt Jon or anyone else there. The terrified look in her eyes seemed to seek out Emily in the room, hoping for some kind of reassurance from the other Vampire.
