| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Having it out with Peter had not been planned... she had promised Xander she would help him, but maybe it was the reality check they both needed. Shae’s own words echoed in her mind every time she thought about Jon... ‘I sabotage every personal relationship I have, I tell myself I am not ready or that it will never work out because I don’t believe that I deserve to be happy. I don’t think I am worth it.’ She had pushed him away when all she had wanted to do was pull him closer. Did he really have the patience in the world to wait forever? Did she really want to wait that long to find out? The flowers and the note he had left for her were still in a vase by her bed. They were already wilting but she didn’t have the heart to throw them out. What if he never bought her anymore? It was easy to look at Peter and to see where he was broken, it was even easy to understand why he was broken. It was harder to look at herself and find the same answers. She knew she wasn’t all there, but she wanted to change that. She needed to. He had wanted to talk about what happened that night, but Shae hadn’t been ready. She wanted to believe that she was protecting him, but really she had been protecting herself. Living right across the hall from her, she knew the moment Jon came home. The elevator, the familiar steps that stopped directly outside her door. Only it wasn’t her door it was his. Courage, that one amazing thing she had never lacked for. That was the reason she pulled open her door. Dressed only in her pyjama short shorts and a shoestring midriff top ~ it wasn’t exactly police issue. Even her hair hung unbound down her back. But then he’d already seen her in the shower. Anything was a step up... right? He would have heard the door open behind him the moment he was about to step into his own room. It suddenly occurred to her that she had never stepped foot into his room. She didn’t even know what kind of furniture he had. She stepped right out into the hallway, silently pulling the door closed behind her. Xander, as always, was passed out in the middle of her bed and this wasn’t something she particularly wanted to share with him. Jon however... Shae wanted to share so much with him. The words just kind of stuck in her throat as she looked up at him, her knees going weak. At least he wasn’t wearing his uniform... but she could see the sleeves of his tattoos up each arm. Suddenly she wasn’t so sure of herself, she wasn’t sure he wanted to talk to her... had she waited too long? “Jon?” Please don’t be angry with me... “Can we talk?” |

Holding each end of the towel that was wrapped around his neck with either hand, Jon rested his head back against the elevator wall as he awaited to arrive on his floor. The last few days had gone and past so fast, he had honestly forgotten the hours he'd let pass without seeing her. Every moment of the day she was on his mind, but he didn't act on going and seeing her after that night. It wasn't because he was mad or upset--okay maybe a little upset--but because she had not responded to the note. That night she returned, he had heard her but she didn't go see him. Jon hadn't known if he did something wrong or not, all he knew was that something had happened between them that was out of his control. The sounds of the elevator door dinging had him pushing off the wall and heading down the hall. Each time he walked to his door, his eyes would shift to Shae's. Hoping that one of these times she'd open up and he'd see those beautiful eyes gazing up at him. That shy smile that she tried to hide, and that awkward way of responding to all of his questions or statements. Though each time, nothing would happen; the door would always stay closed. Shae had pushed him away once, after the incident with the McAlister guy. Did he have it in him to keep taking her closing the door on him? Would his patience run thin? No, not with Shae. His sweats hung long his hips, and his tight tank top spelling out each line on his body. The sounds of his slippers coming to a halt and the opening of his door was etched out by the sound of that sweet, shy voice. "Jon?" I could never be angry with you... "Can we talk?" His heart skipped a beat as he let his door swing open, the lights were off so it was impossible to see anything beyond the hall that led into the main living space. Jon didn't waist a moment before turning around and looking at her. His crimson eyes gazing into hers. She'd expect pain, anger, maybe sadness but all that was there was joy. Jon had the patience of a saint, and he was probably the most understanding person there was. Shae could tell him that she just didn't want to see him that night, and even if it would upset him, he wouldn't hate her for it. "You never need to ask, you can always talk to me." He turned off to the side and put his hand out to her, gesturing for her to come in. Jon would wait for her to move into his place before closing the door behind them and flipping the lights on. It opened up to the living space, just as all the rooms were the same, but he had just arranged it well enough to fit what he needed in there. A sitting area, a bed and cabinets were the main points of the room. Jon hadn't needed much to satisfy his needs, a sitting area where he could watch the games and a bed to sleep in. He looked at Shae, his eyes holding her eyes and not trailing down. "Do you want to sit?" Jon gestured towards the sitting area next to the TV. He really hoped that she was there to stay. Even if it was to tell him how he was coming onto her too much and scream at him to lay off, he just.. wanted her to stay. |

It would have been the smile, that awkward sweet smile of hers which came right before she started pouring her heart out. He had seen it a few times already, followed by the way she chewed on her bottom lip. She pushed herself away from her own door and into his room in a few short steps, coming to a halt the moment he closed the door behind him and for a split second the room was dark. Only the city lights beyond splashing between the curtains on his window. That split second the room remained dark was wonderful, it reminded her of the day he had asked her out. When she had fallen into his lap trying to reach the light and ... she kind of wished she hadn’t run away from him so fast. Would it have been so terrible? To have his arms wrapped around her when she wasn’t bleeding all over the place or high on medication? But the light snatched those thoughts away. Which was probably for the best. She took a deep breath, as though she needed to say everything at once or else it was going to get stuck in her throat and she wouldn’t get any of it out... when he offered her to sit, her eyes naturally looked to the seats in the room but she sat on the edge of his bed, wriggling around to make herself comfortable and ended up a good foot onto his bed with her legs folded up underneath her. “About the other night... I wanted to come and talk to you.” Her voice was so soft, and the heart she usually wore on her sleeve was right there in her gentle hazel eyes. “I keep telling myself that I’m not good enough, that I’m not ready... I keep pushing you away, all the while wishing you’d come closer. But I don’t know how to say it. I wanted the other night to be a date, not just dinner. But I kept waiting for you to work out that I wasn’t anything special and it was so much easier to try and hide behind just being friends. After the shower... and you never said anything.” She looked ready to die of embarrassment. Maybe she would after this... but she wanted him to hear it, to hear everything. “You are all I think about, all the time... even Vi teases me about constantly being distracted. And when she isn’t teasing me she is telling me where you are and suggesting I go and talk to you.” Alright, so maybe her cheeks were turning slightly red. “And I wanted to... I want to share every hot chocolate I have with you and hold your hand.” For a moment her hand reached out towards him but she pulled it away again. He needed to be telling her that she blew her chance... that he’d worked out she wasn’t worth it and was moving on. He needed to be asking her to leave already. Wriggling further back on his bed, she uncrossed her legs and pulled her knees up to her chest. “I just want to kiss you |

Shae took a seat almost the instant Jon had offered it to her. He wasn't upset she decided to take to his bed instead of his sitting area, on the contrary it made him feel as if she wanted to get comfortable instead of getting ready to leave. His eyes meeting her hazel eyes, feeling the emotions that she had bottled up inside that she just wanted to pour out all over him. He still, at that point, didn't know if those emotions were to fully push him away yet or to express what she tried to hide. He hadn't felt so scared to hear someone talk, well, ever. Her first sentence had him steading his footing. Taking a deep breath he moved down to the edge of his bed and sat where her feet were. He wasn't going to try and force a close proximity on her, at least not right then he wasn't. Though, the instant she continued to talk Jon could tell exactly where this was going. It was going in the direction that he had hoped it would. Which released the tightness that his chest had taken to when he saw her just moments ago. Jon wasn't going to say anything, at least not at first. He knew that Shae wanted to talk first, and he would let her. He had all the time in the world for her, and he wouldn't want to speed that up for anything. Everything she said only made him want to smile and laugh. He would've made that night a date whether she would've liked it or not, but that was something he would have to discuss when she was done. The shower scene they shared was... awkward to say the least. He couldn't lie that he imagined Lyn and Peter disappearing from the showers, and leaving the two of them in there alone. Nothing beyond him wrapping his arms around her from behind and holding her came to mind. However, that was something he was going to leave out of their conversation. He could see the color in her cheeks, her hand reaching out towards him and retracting almost instantly. Jon kept his crimson gaze on her, a smile rounding his face and never diminishing. She would never hear him say she blew her chance. Shae could tell Vi to tell him to throw in the towel and disappear from her life, then come back years later and he'd still become smitten over the computer-geek that stole his affections. Watching as she pulled her knees up to her chest, Jon leaned forward as her words became muffled. Though, by the look on his face, he had heard what she had said. "Oh Shae..." His words were loving and sweet. Words weren't the only things he offered her. Those words were all the confirmation he needed to make the move he wanted to for so long. He moved closer to her and leaned over Shae. She'd feel his hands press against the back of her calves and pull to take her knees away from her chest and resting her legs over his lap. Putting his hand under her chin, he lifted it up so that she wasn't looking down anymore. His opposite hand pressing at the small of her back and pulling her in close, almost to the point she was now in his lap. "You're all I think about too. You're all I want to think about." His accent pushed through his sensual words. "We can share all the hot chocolate this world has to offer and more." Jon leaned in, leaving but a minimal space between their lips, "You may push, but I'll fight to stay, because you're worth it." With those words, Jon closed the gap between their lips and finally kissed her. His hand gliding from her jawline, across her cheek and through her hair. His opposite hand that had rested at her back now wrapped around her and pulled her closer to him; she wasn't getting away from him now. The bite mark and what happened the other night would come to be discussed, but for now he wanted to give her what she wanted. That, and he had waited to embrace her like that since the moment he laid eyes on her. Edited by Star, Dec 27 2013, 08:04 PM.

Shae had wanted to hide... but when Jon had moved closer to her, wrapped himself around her and finally pulled her into him. She was drowning in those crimson eyes, and his words... It had never been the right moment to tell him that he reminded her of home... his voice, his accent. It was the same as her father’s, and not in the same breath. His words seemed to roll over her and make her heart suddenly thunder within her chest. One of her hands had come up to caress his cheek. Her heart ached to hear those words, to know what she meant to him. Everything that happened in the past, all the times she had pushed him away, even their failed dinner. She didn’t want to remember those moments or the pain of being bitten. All she wanted was the heartbeat before his lips pressed to hers. That second seemed to last forever, her breath catching in her throat. She had wanted to kiss him, she had wanted to... and when his lips finally claimed hers. It was like the earth had shuddered to a complete stop. All that mattered to her was Jon. Shae may have been shy and awkward, but in that moment she was anything but. It was a good thing she was basically already in his lap, because she would have been the heartbeat after he started kissing her. Maybe she was too forward, but she melted at his touch, the length of her petite body seeming to contour into his. The hand that had caressed along his cheek buried into his teal hair and pulled him deeper into the kiss. There was nothing holding her back anymore, not her past relationships or her own fears. For every heartbeat in his arms, she was the woman she wanted to be, the one she was beneath it all. Courage, passion... love. She didn’t want him to pull away from her, she wanted to stay in that place with him. She wanted to pull him down with her and follow wherever this took them before sense or sensibility caught up with them again. She had told him what she wanted, even if it had been a confession mumbled into her arms. But she needed a partner who could lead. Jon had to know what he was getting into, he had to know that she was not going to save either of them or run away again. Shae was not innocent or inexperienced, she was warmth and longing. She had been falling for him from the first moment he had saved her... so why hadn’t she been able to see it? As intoxicating as she was and if he had the will to pull away from her, he would have sensed all that. Maybe it was her turn to frighten him away. |

Jon had kissed a girl before, but that was high school and by god, what a difference it was to kiss a woman. She was intoxicating, a drug that would take hold and become an addiction. He couldn't bare the thought of letting her go to run away. This was the moment he had wanted, that he had waited for. Jon was not the kind to push someone to do something they didn't want, and that is why he had waited for Shae. Because, jeez, had he wanted to embrace her from the moment he laid his presence into her at the police station that day. Should he go find the criminal that had harassed her to the point where he had to put his armor on and protect her? Maybe, just maybe... Feeling her hand pull him closer made his lips curl into a smile against her soft, elegant lips. Jon felt his heart racing below his chest, unlike Shae, he was innocent--at least in the this sense. No one had ever made him feel this way, no one had completely stolen every sense from him and tossed it out the window as if it were nothing. He wanted to lose himself to her, which he was slowly doing as they kissed passionately in one another's embrace. She'd feel him moving her backwards, slowly and without being too forceful, he pressed her back against the bed. Her legs still wrapped around his and his hands still holding her close to him. All he could taste was her lips. All he could feel was her soft skin against his own and the breathing they both fought to steal from one another. That innocent Shae that hid behind her computer disappeared, and what felt like a more confident aggressive woman showed herself. Jon loved it, but he would've loved whatever she was no matter if she had curled back into a ball and pulled away from him. Though this was much better~ Jon's hand trailed from the back of her head down her neck, just missing the bites that were lingering on her perfect skin, and down her shoulder. It was a passionate, loving touch that once he reached her elbow he'd find her hand interlock their fingers and hold her hand in his. He knew that if they kept going like this, he wouldn't have the strength to stop. But, god, did he really want to stop? No, he didn't, he never wanted to stop kissing, touching and loving Shae in every way, shape or form. He found himself taking a deep breath and breaking the kiss to let her catch her breath. His eyes opening to find her hazel gaze. Jon moved his lower half over onto the bed fully, he came to lay right besides Shae, keeping them facing one another and on their sides he pulled her against him. His forehead resting against hers and their hand still locked together, he brushed his nose against her. (Yes, yes he did just do that. It's cute!) "Can I be honest with you.." He whispered softly, the hand that held hers lifted towards up towards his lips. "That night we were supposed to have our date, I was scared I had put too much pressure on you." Jon pressed his lips against her hand, and closed his eyes. "That 'I' had been the one to push 'you' away..." Jon was so sweet.. But could what was about to come to light bring about a different side to him that not even he knew he had... |

Moving had not really been her choice, or something Shae was even aware of. But her unbound black hair fanned out across his pillow. It was sweet, sinful indulgence kissing Jon. Like food to a starving man she had denied herself long enough. She hadn’t wanted him to stop, she didn’t want her senses to come back. When he had laid her down her other hand had found its way beneath his top her fingertips lightly caressing over his side. She didn’t need to catch her breath, she wanted to keep kissing him... but when she looked into his crimson eyes it was like she was falling again in a completely different way. She held his hand, his fingers laced through her own. Even her legs were still entwined with his. Yet she did not let so much as air exist between their bodies. “I didn’t think I was ready then, but I am now... you never pushed me away, it was always me.” She thought back to every moment they had shared and she had always held him at arm’s length. “I was afraid I would hurt you.” Physically, never. Although getting him shot may have counted. “I needed to be sure I could offer you every piece of my heart, I didn’t know how to love any other way.” As much as she adored Lyn, she could never have been a one night stand kind of girl, no matter how bad the itch was. Maybe throwing around the L word was going to get her into trouble, but that was the heart of the issue. He could have seen the scar which was still healing across her cheekbone. Did it make her unattractive? She had seen Jon’s scars, all of them. It was who they were. He may have kissed her hand, but she pressed her cheek against the back of his hand which still held hers. Her eyes closed for a moment as though wanting to feel his touch without anything else to distract her. His room was cooler than hers, if it had not been for the warmth of his body pressed against her she would have been shivering by now. When her soft hazel eyes opened again it was complete tenderness that she looked at Jon, just beyond her nose, with. Her eyes tracked over his features, contenting herself to trace the shape of his lips. She could still feel those lips pressed against hers, she could still taste him. Her teeth captured her bottom lip as she held back the desire to start kissing him again. Whatever errant thought made her think she could have ever pulled away from him now was long gone. This was where she wanted to be... and he smelt so amazing. How was it possible for someone to smell so incredible? |

Was that the reason she had ran away that night? Had she really been afraid to hurt him? Any ordinary guy would have found her skipping their date to be more of a hurting situation, but thankfully Jon wasn't ordinary. He understood that things happen and people got cold feet, he had to convince himself that's all it was. Even if he wanted to pry more, he couldn't bring himself to ask the question 'Why didn't you show up that night?' Something told him he wouldn't want the answer, but another part of him needed to know. It wouldn't show in his face that he had questions, and so for that reason he let them pass by as if wind through the trees. Jon had her now, what more could he ask for. Slipping his hand away from hers, he moved his fingers along her jawline. His thumb brushing against the scar on her cheek and smiling at her. "The only way you could hurt me is if you completely disappeared out of my life." He offered with his forehead pressing against hers. His hands moving back threw her hair, brushing her locks behind her ear. He could literally look at her all day and night, twenty-four seven, three-hundred and sixty five days a year and never get tired of seeing her face. Her long silk hair, her beautiful hazel eyes. Shae was the woman he had imagined meeting his mother; beautiful, smart and just all around perfect. Hearing the world 'love' in her sentence didn't freak him out. Jon hadn't been the smitten type, and had never said he loved anyone other then his family before. The only woman to have ever heard that directed towards them was the one that had raised him and his sisters after him. He had fallen for Shae the moment he met her. It took him a while to realize that the word described how he felt about her without question. Want to know how he knew that? The day that Shae had almost lost her life to McAlister, he had imagined not seeing her every morning when they went down for coffee. Jon saw a world without Shae, and it broke him. A life without love isn't a life worth living. "Your love is all I want, whether small or big, as long as its yours. I'll have it." Jon was a romantic in every sense; dinners, movies, fireplace with hot chocolate in the winter. That was the kind of guy he was. Though, he couldn't deny the way she looked at him made him want to find the bad boy inside and rip what innocence he had away. He'd keep himself from losing control... at least for as long as he could contain himself. Jon looked down at her lips. He could barely keep from closing the gap once more. Though he needed to say one more thing, one more thing and she wouldn't have to wait for him any longer. The tension between them was tight, but it was something he needed to say. "Shae.." He looked into her eyes, and waited until she responded to him. He was one of THOSE guys. The ones that wanted the commitment. Jon wasn't the kind of person to assume anything. Only once she would acknowledge him would he smile and say "Will you be with me?" |

Jon did not need to wait for Shae’s attention, he was the centre of her universe right then and nothing was going to change that. He deserved her courage, her fearless heart and all the love she held for him. A love which was only going to strengthen with time. But what he asked of her... it was the one thing Jacob never had. She never knew what they were or where they were going. But that one question, it was the promise of a future she and Jon could have worked towards. As slowly as they needed to, or as quickly as they wanted. She started nodding before she even found her voice. “Nothing would make me happier.” It was emotion which shimmered in the depths of her eyes. Emotion she didn’t feel the need to hide anymore. He had been a part of her life for six weeks, but it may as well have been six months. They lived together, or across from each other. There was not a day that went by they did not see one another ~ except that week she had been avoiding him after she had gotten him shot. Not exactly her shining moment... But he had always been there. From the moment in central processing to the noodle shop in the market. He had been the one to take her to the hospital and had fallen asleep on the edge of her bed. And try as she had to wake him softly her arm had not really cooperated. He had promised her that nothing would scare him away, that nothing would be too much. More than any of that, he had waited for her... he had waited until she was ready, until she was prepared to put everything else behind her and start again. There was nothing more she could have ever asked of him. Maybe that was why she lifted herself up on her elbow, he hair falling down like a veil between Jon and the rest of his room. She would have freed her hand from his only to gently caress the side of his face. He was so beautiful, so incredibly amazing and he didn’t even seem to realise. Nothing could have stolen the smile from her lips as her nose brushed lightly against his. The warmth of his breath mingling with her own as her lips lowered to his again. Her senses had not even returned and she was already willing to throw them away again, if only to kiss him again. Maybe she was dreaming, it would not have been the first time she had dreamed of being in his arms ~ nor would it be the last. |

"Good..." He responded with a soft sigh of relief, "because you just made me the happiest man alive." Jon wasn't going to waste anymore time, she was his now and no one would ever take that away from him. No one would ever take her away, god knows whoever tried would find themselves in the hospital or worse. His gaze never leaving hers, "How I've waited for this moment.." His words were but a whisper as he ran his fingers threw her hair and pulled her to him. Their lips had been parted long enough, and Jon wasn't going to wait any longer. Jon pulled her from her position beside him, and rolled onto his back--taking her with him. His arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her in close, never letting their lips part. He didn't want to pull Shae into anything she wasn't ready for, god knows he hadn't done anything like this before in his long twenty-seven years of life. Though it was obvious there was passion behind every move he made. His fingers trailed the lining of her shirt, feeling her soft skin and how warm she was. Every part of her, from her eyelashes to her toes, he loved. Even if it was the simple dimples in her backs he felt as he lifted her shirt up ever so slightly. Jon was a gentlemen, so his hands didn't trail anywhere they weren't supposed to be. Even if the male inside of him wanted to. Shae had been the one to steal his heart. He was risking a lot but who wasn't when it came to love? She was risking her already fragile heart, by giving herself to him. It was something that he wouldn't forget. Jon knew what it was like to lose loved ones, whether it be from death or break ups. Shae would not be someone he would lose. He wasn't in it for a one night stand, he wasn't in it to 'date' someone. No, Jon wasn't that kind of person. He was in it for commitment; for the long haul. Risk. It was what love was all about. He was ready to risk his life, his happiness, to be with the one he loved. Was it worth it? Absolutely. She'd feel one of his hands moving up her back, his fingers trailing along the side of her arm as he passionately kissed her. He smiled as he bit softly at her bottom lip, before pushing them back together. The way she tasted, the way she felt; it was all a drug that Jon couldn't put down. The lingering touching of his fingers gliding up her arm would soon be to her neck. He loved her hair, the smell and touch of it was something he'd never forget. He brushed it off to the side, his fingers lacing through each strand as if it were his job. Jon's head turned ever so slightly to deepen the kiss, the hand that had stayed behind against her back had found its place at her hip that kept her steady on top of him. [Listen to this song lol, oh man its too perfect, kind of.] |
