Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Kitten’s grip on Angaelus’ hand tightened slightly as they walked through one of the multiple sets of glass sliding doors. Like any building designed to handle human traffic in the thousands. It was naturally an overwhelming sight. She was brave though, it was her adopted father she was worried about. Well, actually it was Jeremy... he would turn around three times, lose her in the press of people and start panicking. Angaelus had a natural ability to find her no matter where she was which seemed almost supernatural. This was the first time since he had brought her home from the hospital all those months ago that they were going to be apart from more than his shift at work. Which she was usually at school for anyway.

It took her about five seconds after he explained to her that he was going to help Kyoki’s younger sister before she started reassuring him that he was going to be perfectly fine without her for a few days. Jeremy had started laughing at her with some strange comment about who the parent was in their relationship... but it was alright, because she promised to look after Jeremy while Angaelus was gone and to keep him out of trouble.

He had stopped laughing after that, giving her that serious look. Only it wasn’t serious, because it was Jeremy and he had no idea how to be serious about anything. She liked Kyoki and her beautiful purple hair. She had been so nice to Kitten, and really that was all that mattered to the seven year old.

That and even though she didn’t have any blood family of her own she knew how important it was. If Angaelus could help, that was all that would matter to Kitten.

Kyoki deserved to have her sister with her.

They passed through gates and doorways, twisting and turning deeper into the airport. Even through a metal detector. With the meta human population within Niwa, guns seemed to be a fairly small thing to worry about. The security man with the wand had winked at her when she passed through without any problems, waving his wand over her when she twirled around for him anyway. Before he needed to turn his attention back to the next person who had not been as lucky.

“Do you think you could find Kyoki for me?” Angaelus knelt down beside her to ask. She gave him one of those serious nods. Of course she could... plus, that purple hair. Kitten would have known it anywhere. He smiled warmly at her, the kind of smile that made her beam with happiness. The next instant her stood back up lifting her onto his shoulder where she had a perfect vantage over everyone around them.

“Over there!” Kitten exclaimed happily, pointing in the direction of the gate. “Kyoki!” She called out, but there was more than enough sound her voice was drowned out entirely. Her father instantly started moving in that direction. Jeremy, armed with only Angaelus’ carryon bag stepping after them. Crowds were so much easier to manage in his uniform.

“Kyoki!”

As soon as they got close enough she wriggled to be let down and raced over towards the familiar woman with the lavender eyes and beautiful purple hair.

“Never... licked a lamp post in winter!” Totally not what he was asking, but it was the best save he had as the two beautiful women sat down. “Because your tongue would get stuck to it and that would be completely awkward to try and explain to the poor paramedic who had to save you...” He was totally building it into something it wasn’t, but Kitten started giggling.

But the coffee! Before he even had a chance to sip the presented coffee he offered it back to her with a typically flirtatious Jeremy wink. “Ladies first.” It could have been sweeter, but his excuse always was that he was sweet enough. But the syrup took the bitter edge off the coffee. Besides, Kyoki had sat next to him, which was like winning to lottery or something, even if she spat it back in his face. So what if she was as tall as he was and way out of his league? A guy could dream right!? There was the one slight problem that the only time she had ever called him was for Angaelus, but he could forgive her misguided actions.

Whatever had been said in the Ambulance that day had not affected how he regarded Kyoki one bit.

Kitten was completely happy with the seating arrangement, she got to have Kyoki on one side and Angaelus on the other. It simply did not get better than that! Well, maybe if she was sitting on her father’s lap with Kyoki and Jeremy either side. But that would be like double dipping.

“Thank you, ladies.” Angaelus smiled towards both of them finding somewhere to rest the cup.

“Kyoki showed me that my voice is bright yellow like the sun.” Kitten announced randomly with absolutely no context at all. “And she let me order the hot chocolates.” Her smile could not have gotten any bigger.

“So you ordered mine personally?” Jeremy grinned, somehow turning the slim chance a seven year old would have remembered to order the right combination of coffee and vanilla into something personal. He was a complete dork and he knew it. But all he was fishing for was a smile. He knew why Angaelus and Kyoki were going. If he could have taken her mind off the whole trip for one second, it would be worth it.

"Ah, thank you." Kyoki reached back to take his drink and brought it to her lips. She didn't wear lip gloss or anything, but she did have a very light shade of pink chap stick that did leave behind lip marks as she brought back the drink. Licking her lips while she handed Jeremy back his drink, she smiled and gave him a nod. "Very interesting. Not too sweet, but not too bitter. It's a nice combo. The skin milk is definitely noticeable." Kyoki preferred regular milk, it was probably her favorite thing to drink other then tea and coffee. Oh, and of course hot chocolate.

She leaned back in her chair and looked over at Kitten who told her father about the colors she had shown her. There was a joyful smile that crossed her lips. Kyoki had this strange urge to always make Kitten happy. If there were ever a moment that she wasn't happy, Kyoki would go out of her way to make sure to turn her frown upside down.

Bringing her drink up to her lips she took a sip of her hot chocolate and found her gaze on Angaelus. "You're very welcome." She said giving him a light head nod. She then looked over at Jeremy where she playfully winked at him and nodded her head. "Yes, yes I did."

There were many people that were rushing through the airport, some stopping to get coffee and food, others just needing a place to sit and get on their computer. Their time at the table seemed to go by fast, drinking their drinks and laughing at one another's silly jokes. Kyoki teasing Jeremy any chance she could, and staring at Angaelus and Kitten when she could get away with it. When they got back from Hong Kong, whether it be with her sister or not, she wondered if she could stay being their friend. Maybe spend some time with Kitten. She'd love to take her to the Zoo, or maybe to the movies. Something...

Once Kyoki was done with her drink, she let out a sigh of satisfaction and put the cup onto the table. "Delicious. Ready to head back to the gate?" She asked, they had a little bit of time before they started to board the passengers.

“Actually... we need to get going.” Jeremy stood slowly, he felt like a villain the moment the words had left his lips. Kitten’s heart just dropped and he could see it in the slope of her shoulders and the way she hung her head. But she took a deep breath and looked back up, her bright blue eyes resolved to the fact she had to let them both go eventually. She was being so brave. “But we’ll be back to pick you both up when you land in three days.”

It was like ripping off a bandaid. Either way it was going to hurt, but if they stayed Jeremy knew they would be sitting in the terminal long after the plane had taken off. Three days, it didn’t seem like a long time.

Besides, Kitten was still having fun. Kyoki was there and she got to poke the pink marshmallows in the hot chocolate until they were nothing more than melted goo. But that goo had tasted so nice. And she had gotten to eat Angaelus’ goo as well. Well, most of it. There had been the spoonful she had insisted on feeding to her adopted father. Apparently it had been the perfect spoonful.

That was when she turned on Angaelus. Bouncing onto his lap only to be wrapped in his arms. Cuddles and hugs were the two greatest things in the world to a seven year old. He even squeezed her to the point she started squeaking for air. Even as she hugged him her innocent eyes had looked to Kyoki, she smiled brightly and winked at the beautiful woman.

“And we can have more hot chocolate when you come home.” She reassured both of them. With an oh so serious nod she reached out and hugged Kyoki fiercely. Her arms locking around the woman’s neck in a vice like grip. Pressed cheek to cheek she whispered for only Kyoki to hear. “I hope your sister comes home with you and we can play together.” When she was ready to release the purple haired woman, and not a moment sooner, Kitten would have placed her hands on the woman’s shoulders and given her a serious nod. It was important that happened. Kyoki didn’t have anyone to look after her otherwise.

While Kitten glopped and hugged Angaelus to no end, Kyoki turned to Jeremy and wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a big hug. The fact they were the same height was nice, for once, and she could hug a guy without bending over or being stretched upwards. Granted it was more bent over, but that was besides the point. He'd feel her pull away after a moment and turn to the loving father and daughter. She'd see her wink, and give her a bright smile. Angaelus was so lucky to have a daughter like Kitten. If things were different, and Kyoki wanted a child, Kitten was what she would pray for.

When the young girl came to her, Kyoki didn't hesitate a second and wrapped her arms around Kitten and pulled her into a big bear hug. "You be good this weekend. I promise to take good care of your father." She said while still holding her close. The way that the young girl spoke to Kyoki was so adult like, and it was great. Even her offer when she got home to have hot chocolate together made her body feel all... Just perfect. The feeling she got was perfect. It was only amplified when she spoke of her sister, and wanting her to come play with her. Dear god if Kyoki's heart didn't explode right then and there. Her eyes almost watered but she held the tears back so not to upset Kitten.

"I'll do my best." In that moment she held Kitten one more time before standing up and moving towards Angaelus. Where she'd stand there until he was ready to go. There necessarily wasn't a rush, but they couldn't miss the flight (obviously). Three days wasn't too long, but still, any time away from someone you love is always difficult. Kyoki knew that better then anyone. With one last good bye to the pair, they'd set off to the front desk of their gate.

Kyoki pulled her bag behind her and stepped towards the clerk with a smile on her face. The woman looked at the two of them with glee in her eyes. It was obvious she had seen their parting goodbye with Kitten and Jeremy. "It's always hard to leave the kids behind." She said with a confident nod. Kyoki let out a soft sigh and nodded as well. "Yeah.." Handing her ticket to the woman, she'd step forward and wait to receive it back. The clerk looked up at Angaelus as she gestured for his ticket too. "You two are absolutely gorgeous, very beautiful couple." The lavender eyed woman's went into shock. Eyes widened and mouth open. 'Fu-- stupid woman, why would she assume such a disgusting thing.'

Shaking her head, Kyoki laughed nervously. "We're just friends." The clerk gave her a look that wrote 'uh-huh' and handed Angaelus ticket back to him. Kyoki couldn't have grabbed his wrist faster and charged towards the plane.

She said nothing to him when they stood in line waiting for the other passengers to get to their seats. They were sitting in the exit row, Kyoki had the middle seat and Angaelus had the window. She contemplated on buying the seat next to her so that it was free, but realized she didn't have an endless amount of money to waste. The only bad thing about the seats were that they didn't recline at all, but they did have more leg room. That was a good thing for both of them, they were tall and having their knees to their chest for the long flight to Hong Kong would not have been fun.

"Thanks again." She said as they took a step into the plane. Eyes were instantly on the two of them, because let's be honest, neither of them looked 'in place'. Kyoki always got strange looks because of her hair, Angaelus was just gorgeous. Jeremy wasn't wrong when he said he made all the girls turn their heads. Some of them would even break their necks to get a look at him.

Kyoki could continue to thank him all the way to Hong Kong if she wanted to, but Angaelus had not done anything yet except promise to try and help. There was no guarantee that he was going to be able to bring her sister back no matter how hard he tried. He spent the time storing away their luggage in the overhead compartment. But the moment he looked at the seating arrangement he shook his head. “The window is all yours.” Angaelus insisted in a tone that suggested he wasn’t going to take no for an answer. He would stand there all day waiting for her to sit down in the right sear if he had to. Hopefully it wasn’t going to come to that. There was still no sign of the person who had the seat next to them, if there even was someone. Exit rows usually weren’t that popular unless the flight was booked out, and there had not been a lot of notice before Kyoki had booked the tickets.

Kitten would make sure Jeremy was alright, he did not doubt for a moment who would be looking after who in that relationship.

Angaelus was completely focused on the journey in front of them. Helping every person near him with their luggage until Kyoki was all settled into the window seat. It was one of the advantages of being tall and well built, overhead luggage was a piece of cake. If anyone, female or otherwise, paid the paramedic any undue attention he honestly did not notice. By the time he sat down in the middle seat an aging woman walked over to their seat and started squinting at the seat numbers.

She had one of those mean looks about her, as though she wanted to hit someone with her walking stick just for kicks. But she smiled at Kyoki and Angaelus, her false teeth looking like they were about to fall out of her head. He just smiled brightly at her even as the woman started harassing the flight attendant for something alcoholic to drink.

This was going to be a long flight...

Looking back towards Kyoki the angel simply shook his head. He naturally reached out, taking her hand in his giving her a reassuring squeeze. “It will be alright, whatever comes will come and I will be there with you, every step of the way.”
