Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Less than human... or maybe more [Helena]

There were times, honestly, when he wished he was actually human. Or if, perhaps, he was human in that space of childhood that eluded his memories, that he could return to such a state.

More honestly, such times were quite rare. He didn't have any perception of being treated as someone 'normal' to ever miss, nor would he willfully sacrifice the enhanced senses his form gave him if he had a choice. Better to be treated as a freak, someone to fear, someone to avoid, than to be pitifully normal with all it entailed.

Ah, and lest he forget the fur. So many people around had such silly, heavy coats and the like on, covered in thick garb practically from head to toe, and yet him... without a single care he only had his usual black vest and pants on, and that was fine. However cold it was, he barely felt it, and better yet, a pair of black boots sufficed to keep his feet from getting steadily soaked and frozen by the light layer of snow upon the ground. All in all, a figure without much of a care was the fox man, except maybe when it came to his job.

Damn... he'd forgotten that the 'holiday season' brought out a bunch of the more troublesome situations that naturally, as an officer of the law (something he'd still only a vague inclination of), he had to do something about. Even if... there was... something odd? No, probably just a matter of his nose being dulled by the cold and not catching things quite as efficiently as it should have been.

Hrm.

Mentally shrugging that off, he promptly changed the direction he'd been idly walking through the park to push pointedly by a pair of men he'd somewhat barely heard chatting, but about nothing pleasant. One stumbled slightly, the other shouted a curse at him, the fox man plainly didn't care. He knew well enough what he was doing, and if these men he'd already made a certain point toward wanted to cross him, well, they could try if they wished. He'd brought down bigger.

"Ya might wanna move or come along or somethin' if ya don' wanna deal with some stupidly hormonal guys," he casually warned the girl that his path set him toward once he reached her, glancing only ever so briefly back to said guys. Blunt? Check. Socially awkward? Check. Would it accomplish anything?

If history showed, probably not much, but it was the only way he really knew how to handle things, so what else was he expected to do? At least he was polite enough to offer a hand to the girl -- at least, he figured that would be considered polite, despite the situation -- and not let as much coldness linger in his expression as normally did. That was... something, at least, and the best he could really give.

So... he... huh. A dragon. That was certainly something he'd never expect to come across, not that he hadn't already spoken as such. Some surprise was visibly evident, as perhaps to be expected, but beyond that he was rather as calm and passive about the situation as he was about so many others. Something that came natural to someone like him that remained ever on the outskirts, perhaps.

"An' what good's bein' afraid gonna do me? If ya wanna hurt me, you'll either hurt me or I'll manage to fight it off somehow or other, considerin' I wouldn' exactly be able to run very well from somethin' apparently that much bigger'n me. Call it reckless or whatever ya want, but I've never bothered with anythin' like 'fear' fer a while now, not while I've been lookin' like this an' havin' to scrounge up whatever I can an' avoid or fight off whatever comes at me." Such was his reply, along with a small, dismissive wave. Fighting and danger were no strangers to him, not even remotely, and sure he'd probably never faced up to anything as big or dangerous as a dragon, but he'd been through his share of difficulties otherwise.

The miscellaneous scars quite efficiently hidden beneath his fur were very much proof of that much.

"But, I s'pose if it's any mercy to me, I ain't exactly in some sorta hurry to fight a dragon of all things, an' I figure they'd prob'ly have to eat a lot with that sorta size, so maybe I could offer dinner somewhere good 'round here if ya are hungry? Not like I got any shortage o' cash when I don' have anythin' to pay for most o' the time," he casually offered with a little shrug, his head tilting slightly to the side. Rather that than possibly get eaten himself if she was possibly subtly hinting at that (with subtlety being a thing that was largely foreign to him), he figured.

Helena couldn't help but laugh. He was truly something different, most people--excluding Silas and other dragons--would have been either skeptical or would've run from her. Was she glad he did neither? That was still to be undetermined. All that he could tell was that she amused completely by him, which was both a bad and good thing. Dragon's normally didn't play with their food, unless taunted into doing it. She wasn't hungry enough to feast on something as delectable as him~ at least not at the moment. Human food was satisfying to some extent.

He offered to take her to get something to eat, which was sweet, but unnecessary. Her head tilted off to the side and she raised an eyebrow. Helena had hunted for her dinner the last few nights, not in dragon form of course, and had eaten small rabbits, and even deer (which was hard to find in Niwa, but when she did she feasted on them).

"Can you hunt?" She asked with a curious smile on her face. There was something about him that intrigued her, what it was she had no idea yet. Maybe it was his smell, or just his looks in general. He was different, and so was she. Maybe that's why she felt drawn to him. "Because as much as I'd love to pay someone else to cook my food for me, I think it's more satisfying to get your own and cook it. Seeing as we are..." She looked around at his 'home', and shook her head. "Already outside we may as well use it. Though I'm not sure what kind of food there is to eat around these parts. It is a park after all..."

She took in a deep breath and shifted her eyes. "Is there a place to fish?" He was part fox, which meant he could jump in and get some fish for them right? She hadn't honestly fished in a while, at least not with a rod. Transforming into a dragon to eat a few fish seemed a bit unnecessary...

Let's see what Lance had in mind.
