  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Along side of the graveyard, Jon pulled up in an unmarked car and stepped out of it. With his uniform on it was obvious he was on the clock, or at least he had just gotten off. By the expression on his face, it seemed he had been just getting off. Exhaustion all but cowered over his face. Today had been a busy day, and granted he got little to no sleep last night, it wasn't helping whatsoever. However he didn't go home, and for good reason. Before he completely left his car, he ducked back in and picked up vases that had flowers in them. He didn't have family here at this graveyard, so the question really was, why was he there?

Shutting the door with his foot, Jon strolled through the front gate and headed off in a random directly. He knew who he was looking for, but it wasn't going to be an easy find. There were a lot of people that were buried here, and if Jon was to find the two specific people he was looking for he would need patience. Thankfully he had plenty of it.

Jon had a rough few days, but he wasn't going to dwell on it. There was always a reason for things happening, whether it be what he wanted or not, he had to except it. If there was anything that he had learned from his life experience, it was that things were going to happen whether he liked it or not. Death, being stood up, long days at work, losing and gaining people, it would happen. Jon was strong, but there was no strength in the world that would stop fate.

His hands held onto the plastic vases, his eyes scanning the area for what he was looking for. There were a few people there, but not many. He didn't stop, but he did give them a smile and a head nod to acknowledge them. He may have been in uniform, but the flowers were a dead give away he was there for another reason. Maybe he was there for some of his fallen officers? It would be the most viable option. They lost so many on a weekly bases though, that he would need more then just two things of flowers. So maybe he was there for someone else. Something more... personal.

'Forestward... there you are.' He thought after quite the search. The two tomb stones that stood next to one another wrote 'Alric Forestward and Kaiya Forestward'. Jon found it easy to pull up where Shae's parents were from their records. Her family meant the world to her and it was obvious, as Jon's meant the world to him, so even as a small gesture he felt it was only right that he pay respects to them after what she had shared to him a week or so before.

Jon moved between the two graves and sat down on his knees. Resting the vases down besides one another--between the tomb stones--he began dusting away the leaves that had fallen atop her parents. It was obvious that someone had been there within the last two weeks, compared to some of the other graves this one looked well maintained. He wondered how often Shae came and sat with her mother and father. He would, when he was in the states, go and see his father and sisters almost every other day. Sitting and just talking to them as if they'd respond back.

Taking a deep breath, he rested his hands into his lap and closed his eyes. Silence hung for a moment as he prayed. Jon wasn't necessarily the most religious person, but he did believe that there was some form of afterlife. He also believed there was a connection between the living and dead, spiritually at least. He didn't know if they lingered around their graves, because who would want to do that, but if they did they would obviously hear what he was about to say.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Forestward." He started, opening his eyes and smiling at their tombstones. "My name's Jon Nottingham. I've had the pleasure of meeting your daughter and I must say she is quite the handful." A smile crept across his face as he sat back on his legs. "You raised a great daughter, and you'd be proud to see what kind of woman she became." He laughed a bit, "And don't worry, my intentions are completely innocent." He could imagine what a mother and father would think if some random guy came to them and started talking to them about their daughter: creeper! But Jon was nothing of the sorts, at least he tried not to be.

Jon shook his head and continued smiling. "She misses you both, but I'm sure she has told you that every time she's come to see you." He moved his hands off and rested them onto their tomb stones and put his head down. Again silence fell, Jon had known the pain of losing someone special.

After a few seconds of silence, he lifted his head up and moved his hands back. "I'll keep her safe. I promise. Whether it be by her side as a friend or more, Shae will always have me there." A promise to parents was like signing a lease on a home, it was dedication at it's finest. Jon cared for her, and in his words it was obvious. If her parents were there, and they were listening to him, he did hope they would believe him.

He'd just sit there for a moment, listening to the wind around him and the soft whimpers of families crying over their loved ones. He hadn't shed a tear since their funeral, but that was only because he was strong and knew he needed to be for his mother. Sometimes, even to this day, she'd call just to cry on the phone to him. Which he'd sit and talk her through it until she either fell asleep or laughed it away. It is hard to lose a husband and one's children, and still fight to keep one son from getting into trouble. Maybe it was why Jon tried his best to be the best man he could be, so that his mother didn't have to worry about him so much. Or maybe that was just who he was meant to be...

He was in no rush to get home...
