  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Shae looked into her pathetic excuse for a wardrobe, everything in there looked like her uniform, or near enough to. Only the charcoal and red fur lined coat she had screamed civilian clothing. It was just dinner ~ somehow that reminder did not make picking something to wear that she was not going to freeze to death in any easier.

A complete lack of wardrobe on top of the awkward shower scene the day before. She could still feel her stomach knot over that. After having seen her completely naked all of her scars and how damn shy she had been... why couldn’t she be like Lyn? Tall, beautiful, confident... instead she was, well.

Just dinner with a friend.

She may actually throw up... she shouldn’t have been this nervous. But he hadn’t said anything to her afterwards. Which meant he had not cancelled their dinner date. “White or blue?” Shae asked holding up the only two tops that didn’t scream librarian to Xander. Realising for the first time the cub had passed out a while ago.

“White it is.” She chuckled at the sleeping lion. The top had open shoulders and sleeves that came all the way down over her hands, more importantly over her scars. The loose legged dress pants swirled around her legs and she tried not to bump the bed as she pulled on her leather boots with two inch high heels. She had learned early on when it came to dress ups that she had no talent for walking in heels. No matter how incredible they made her legs look. Besides, it was boot weather out there. Losing her toes to frostbite was not really an option.

Standing in front of the tiny mirror on her wall she pulled her hair up, only to let it fall down around her shoulders again. This ritual went on for a minute or so before she finally decided to leave it down. Not working... that was the whole theme she was going with. Her long black hair falling down her back was definitely not business Shae. Make up was right up there with high heels in the ‘stuff Shae knew nothing about catagory’ but she managed to apply eyeliner and mascara... she even tried applying it to her eyes as well as her lashes.

Note to self: Don’t do that again.

She was ready... half an hour early. What kind of strange breed of woman was she ~ right when her phone dinged with an incoming message. It was like someone had sucked the excitement out of the room... she groaned pretending not to hear the phone. Which was an excellent idea, until it dinged a second time. She had enough time, god she hoped she had enough time... picking the phone up her eyes feel on the message. She was expecting the worst. For it to be some crisis downtown that she needed to fix.

This was supposed to be her night!

Was it all too logical as Shae ducked out of the way of the ice cream? The hint of failure was written on his face, until one of the children sitting behind her copped the sickly sweet ice cream to the side of the head.

‘Oh wow...’
The smile was natural as he watched the beginnings of a wicked food fight. Although Shae did not want to play her part in something she created. He scooped up his dessert as he watched Shae double back for her hot chocolate, the girl had good instincts as another kid ducked in front of her chair using it as a shield.

There was nothing casual about him as he dashed back to Shae, the screams of children echoed through the car park as he laughed aloud... Wait what?
He could feel the cold sensation on his cheek where the remaining whipped cream and shaved chocolate remained on his cheek. After a moment he tried with his tongue before chuckling to himself, being sure to not let Shae see him even attempt that again.

“Why did you duck?”
His voice protested as he could not help but laugh... His ribs ached as he almost dropped the sundae he still clung onto, it was his precious. It was not going to fall, there was still time to salvage what remained of its sweet indulgence.

He casually sat on the bonnet as he tried to compose himself to take another bite... He casually stabbed at the concoction before lifting the spoon... He could have, and it would not have missed. He could still make out the kids in their rebellious act and ignore the one adult who insisted they stopped, they were loosing.

Instead he turned his attention to her, the woman that made him smile... In the nice way, not the creepy I want to kill you kinda way... Actually, it was both. But he was leaning to one side of the fence.

“So I wouldn’t be washing chocolate fudge sauce out of my hair for the next week.” Shae chuckled. He really needed to ask her that? Gum was by far the worst thing to have in one’s hair, but chocolate topping was right up there with bird poop. She didn’t just lean against the hood, she climbed right up onto it, nursing her hot chocolate as she wriggled back slightly. The metal bonnet popping slightly even under her minimal weight.

“See the chaos you’ve unleashed!” The Lieutenant exclaimed, pointing back to the ice cream parlour and the screaming children. Even if they were having a great time. Alright, they were having the best time of their lives at the expense of their parents. “We took an oath to keep the peace.” Shae chuckled.

Some peace keeper she turned out to be, she was the first one out of there.

As though it was going to help hide her smile she lifted the hot chocolate to her lips, her eyes finally looking back to Jon. Whatever else she could have said was suddenly lost as the first snowflake drifted down to rest on his shoulder, only to be followed by a dozen more. Her smile which had been a thing of amusement a moment earlier dissolved into something sweeter, which the cup of hot chocolate wasn’t going to hide from him.

Snow was magical and beautiful when it fell like that. Instantly catching in her hair and slowly coating the world in white. She was about to start falling in love and it was as though mother nature was giving her every little shove in the right direction that she could manage.

So maybe, she just stared at him, in that awkward goofy way of hers that was about to make her blush the second she realised.

There was always something worse than chocolate fudge in your hair, usually it was dried blood that matted into his hair. Sure, there were times when he had become a little over zealous during his killings.

As she mentioned chaos Brit Jon looked up to the food fight that continued without them, pity. With a raised eyebrow he turned to her as she mentioned keeping the peace. “I did no such thing...” The innocent tone of his protest rang all too easily from his lips as he gave into a smile. Sure he could be joking, but was he?

It was that moment that she seemed to be watching him, differently... Sure there was a smile but now... Was she onto him? Did she see through his disguise? Or was he too casual in his demeanour and let something slip that Jon would not have done. No. He followed that white knight’s demeanour to a ‘T’ and there was nothing visually that gave him away, was there?

Did he- oh wait snow... Cool.
Show me an orphan that hated snow, I dare you.

As the dozen snowflakes hit the car he realised that mush have been what Shae was looking at. She must have liked it as much as him, she was still giving that look though. Yeah, it must be the whipped cream.

He chose to follow suit and skim over the car bonnet before his spot was taken by the accumulation of snow. It resembled a fluid action as he came to a stop, the slight bump of his arm into Shae was completely on purpose as he flashed a warm smile. This night had turned out completely unexpected.

“I could not have hoped for a better evening... This was completely unexpected.” Oh, how true. His tone dipped to a sincerity that he could not have faked... Ok, he could have faked it perfectly, but as if he would go to that much trouble... As he looked to get comfy on the car bonnet it was not surprising that his bowl of ice cream hardly melted even as he offered it once again out of concern that his armour was fading.

He had to get her on the back foot again, to maintain in control.
