Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Silas
Ever since he met Fiora, Silas had slowly become more curious about the many gangs and organizations that were spread and hidden within Niwa. He spent a few days exploring the underground however he didn't come across anything major. However his motions in the underground hadn't went unnoticed. An extremely small gang was insulted by Silas' search as well as his lack of interest in their organization. It was insulting to know that a man was looking for knowledge about the organizations that composed Niwa and yet he ignored such a small cog in the machine that was this city.

They decided they would make him pay and they followed Silas to the Executive Lounge within a place called Dusk. It was a pretty festive night as the area was crowed with people. Silas looked up at the sky at the waning crescent in the sky he smiled as he walked in and got himself a table within the executive lounge. Such a location seemed fitting for Silas. The hybrid was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and black tie. His crimson hair trimmed perfectly and his golden eyes as piercing as ever.

A waitress came up asking if Silas had wanted anything and he nodded asking for their finest bottle of bourbon as well as surprise with the food. He winked at the girl before she walked off to retrieve his order. As soon as she left a group of 3 men approached Silas. One sat down and the other two stood behind him on both sides. Silas raised an eyebrow at this group and asked if he could help them with anything.

The man who sat across from him told him to shut up and that he had a gun pointed pointed at his lower stomach. Silas had his eyebrow raised and asked if there was a problem. The men just told him to shut up and get up and go outside however Silas chuckled and then refused. He leaned back as the waitress came back with his bottle and a few glasses. He poured himself a drink as he knew these men werent going to do anything in public.

It was definitely a lovely view, Silas thought as his eyes shifted from the view of the city to the woman who had led him there. All of it was. As she spoke he got closer to her, keeping eye contact as he poured himself a drink. He was calm despite everything that had just happened and just had a nonchalant yet mysterious, almost ominous air around him. Silas was a man who knew how to have a presence. He carried himself as well as spoke in a certain way. He was respectful, yet his demeanor almost made it sound as if he took nothing seriously...that was unless he absolutely had to.

He chuckled at her comment before taking a sip of his drink, catching onto her slight French accent. "Ahh, parlez vous français?", he said with a slight smile before taking another sip of his drink and responding to her second statement, "Well thank you very much".

As her eyes shifted to her drink, his quickly scanned her, eyeing her up and down quickly before going back to his drink. He was curious as to what her story was. She had a confident aura around her and he was curious to know why. While Silas knew he wasn't going to be a threat to her, she seemed so sure that he wasn't either, despite everything that happened tonight. As far as she was concerned he was just a random man who attracted thugs to her establishment that could have caused a much larger mess than they did. Yet here she was, having a drink with him and now asking him for an explanation.

He saw her frown again and decided that he would try and make her feel better, and the one way he could do that now was by giving her the truth...or at least some of it. He stood to the side of her as he began to explain, "Well I guess first off I'll tell you my name is Silas. I am new to this famous town of Niwa and I more or less was conducting a few experiments. You see I am a little bit of a historian as well as a sociologist and when I first came here I came to explore the many gangs that make up and essentially control this town", he said before taking a sip of his drink and then gave Sephyr his undivided attention again. "Those men I guess were some people I came across while exploring Niwa's underground, however when I met them they didn't seem to be affiliated with the groups I was looking for so I dismissed them, which I guess was rather disrespectful on my part", he said before finishing his drink.

When he stepped beside her, Sephyr did not flinch. Nor did she confirm for him that her family was French, half her family at any rate. She had a habit of accepting things at face value without needing to understand them. Whether she knew or not, whether she approved or not did not change what something was or was not. But she listened as he spoke with all the patience in the world.

“You certainly know how to attract the wrong element in the city.” Herself included. Sephyr’s smile only returned in force. It was a common occurrence when people spoke to her that they only raised more questions than they answered. Somehow, Silas, managed to answer an entire line of questioning her mind could have mapped. Everyone had been new to the city at some stage, of course he would be a meta human or something equally as unique.

Her eyes lingered on the scene through the double glass doors. Security had ushered everyone from the Lounge and were doing their best to collect names and contact numbers for the police from the people who wanted nothing more than to leave. Pushing the reality of what Silas had brought into her life from her mind she turned towards him, ignoring the chaos in the room. “If you wanted to know about the organised crime in the city, I believe I may be uniquely qualified to assist in that department.” That was one way of putting it. The offer was a genuine one, though it may not have satisfied his sociological curiosity. If nothing else she could have pointed him in the right direction of the real powers within Niwa.

She did not even ask why he was looking for them or what he intended to do when he found them. That got bundled into the ‘stuff she did not need to know’ basket.

Her golden eyes remained on him for a moment longer before turning to the scene beyond the waterfront. She lived and breathed the view, so to say some of its majesty was lost on her would have been accurate. As beautiful as the city was, she knew what it looked like underneath. Until recently Dusk had been her safe haven, the one constant in her life that the violence within the City did not spill over into. Even she could not have maintained that forever. She wanted to be angry at him, to hold the attractive stranger beside her responsible. But it was the nature of the beast... and she was more curious than territorial.

As she spoke about him knowing how to attract the wrong element of the city he smiled as he looked at her, "Well at this moment I think I'm doing pretty good for myself", he said semi flirtatiously as he began to pour himself another drink. He knew the police was still coming, however he really didn't think they'd have anything to say for him aside from a few questions. He could handle his liquor and it would take him a while to even feel buzzed, so he drank on without a care in the world.

As he drank he could hear the commotion that was happening indoors. He knew he was partially responsible for all of this, and he knew it was getting it easy from the mysterious woman who still hadn't introduced herself to him. However while she didn't offer her name, she did offer in helping him learn more about the city's underground. "Is that so? Brilliant, for my searches weren't that successful. However I want you to know, I'm not interested in being a part of the crime itself, my curiosity is purely academical.", he said as he sipped his drink again.

"But enough about me, I can talk about my interests for days. What about you love? What's your story?", he asked. As they spoke he felt as if he wasn't getting much out of her. He wasn't sure how to approach the conversation because he knew nothing about her. However he wasn't worried, for if there was one thing he could do it was start and hold a conversation. That was as long as the other person was interested.

He cared nothing for his life being threatened. He never flinched or hesitated, and now he was pouring himself another drink like nothing happened. Did he usually hold such little regard for life? Could she have honestly judged him if he did? Sephyr was no saint ~ she had just proven that. There was something more she read into his question. She had the sense he was fishing for information, not to pry... more to make a connection with her. Beside murdering people and a genetic similarity. What did he want her to say? He brushed aside the one offer she did make.

Her story?

A chuckle escaped her lips. “Well, I enjoy long walks on the beach, open fires, scented massage oil, and I am looking for the perfect partner to spend the rest of my life with.” It was not sarcasm exactly, it was humour... and lots of it. Sephyr was impulsive and passionate, and apparently funny. At least she was not taking this too seriously. She was usually seductive and charismatic, but she could settle for amused.

Sephyr shook her head slightly, her attention returning to him. The still night air was already starting to warm around her. Was he hoping she would start spilling her secrets? Unfortunately they were not hers to tell. “It is not a story I share with people. No matter how charming they may be.” It was a subtle deviation, she wanted to distract him from prying into her. Small talk would have been the thing she hated most on the planet. “But if you want something, this... this is my story.” She indicated back to the Lounge Nightclub. “Dusk is the only thing which is important to me.” Thing, not person.

It would not have taken great powers of observation to figure out she claimed ownership of the waterfront establishment. The way the bar staff and security had regarded her, done everything she asked of them. Even her level of protectiveness, it all suggested she had a deep attachment.

Silas smiled at her response, "Sounds like your profile for an online dating website...But I'm surprised you haven't met a suitor yet". He knew she was joking and his tone somewhat resembled that he was too. However a flirt was a flirt and despite everything Silas couldn't deny that he was. After all woman were a personal interest and hobby he had ever since he first dawned on his incubus lineage.

He placed his drink down and his hands then moved into his pockets. He was interested in talking to her. There was an aura around her that he couldn't quite put his finger on it. As she spoke she revealed that she wasn't going to share anything with him essentially. That just made her all the mystery and Silas above anything loved a challenge.

She then said something that slightly caught his eye. This place was her story...this place was the only thing that was important to her? She seemed like the type of person that was indeed a devoted and passionate person...the type that might seem like a hopeless romantic in some type of way or another. He was able to tell that just by her joke before, as he believed they held some type of truth behind them. These type of people were the type to care about almost anything...but usually there's a person to care about too. He thought it unlikely that she only cared about this place.

"I guess it makes sense that the person in charge would care about their establishment...", Silas said before he seemed to lose himself in deep thought. Was there someone within this place that she cared about? Or did something happen so someone close to her here? Or maybe it had nothing to do with the establishment...perhaps this place was an escape for her. But what exactly was it an escape from...

He looked at her for a bit, seemingly getting lost in her. However truthfully he was merely lost within his own thought. After all Silas had been around for a long time, he was smart and deductive...however he was also very curious.

Silence descended on them for a moment, even the nightclub had fallen quiet. Only Vyrae or Nemetis had the authority to shut down Dusk completely. But that was exactly what was happening. In the distance she could hear the police sirens. It was Niwa, and in a city of 4 million people there was not a second of the day that was not filled with emergency sirens. But somehow she knew it was the police in route to the waterfront establishment.

“I know I said that I would not be the one to ask you to leave... but I am about to break my word on that.” Sephyr reached across, gripping into the top of the fencing. “I would like you to leave, now before the police arrive.” She was still being protective, for whatever reason, whatever conclusion she had drawn. Throwing Silas at the police was not high on her list of things to do that night. Murder, no matter how justified, still had a process. And the only meta holding cells she knew of was in Osore...

Maybe she was overreacting but she had enjoyed Osore’s particular brand of hospitality once before. That was not something she would have wished on anyone.

“You are welcome back once all this blows over if you can promise not to bring any friends with you.” There was a smile which tugged at the corner of her lips. Did she believe everything he had told her? Sure, why not. It worked as well as any other story. Taking people at face value had worked for her so far.

Killing people in her Lounge... what would they think of next?
