Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

Arthur sped through the streets of Niwa with the sirens of the squad car blaring. It seemed the makeshift tourniquet wasn't stopping the blood flow but it did slow it down somewhat. He whipped through traffic who of coarse moved out of the way for the cop car coming through. He pulled up to the to the front of the hospital and quickly got out and headed over to Scarlett's side of the car. He took her out and carried her in. He quickly yelled for help while running into the lobby area. There was blood all over his torso because of where the wound was and because he had been carrying her.

they had to wait a little while for them to get a gurney out to take Scarlett. "You will be ok we made it to the hospital and ill remain here with you till you get better just hold on till they can help you." He had a calming feel to him although he was very frantic on the inside. He shouldn't have used his sword but if he hadn't he might be the one in the hospital instead. He didn't even know why it escalated the way it did. He didn't know why she ever dropped her guard and she is paying for it now. What could she have been thinking about to take her mind off of the fight.

Throughout the car ride, Scarlett couldn't help but curse herself for not paying attention. She couldn't imagine the damage that it had done to her fully, at least not yet. All she knew was she couldn't move her arm, at all. It was beginning to hurt worse as they drove through the streets. Even her chest was beginning to compress and feel tight. Scarlett knew well what that meant, she had internal bleeding that needed to be stopped, because so close to the lungs she'd start finding it hard to breath and soon completely lose consciousness. She didn't acknowledge Arthur at all during the right, she just focused on keep pressure at the backside of her wound. The sword had completely shattered anything in its path.

It was quite the deadly weapon.

When they arrived at the hospital, Scarlett didn't wait and crawled out of the car and leaned against it. Arthur didn't realize it, but showing up in a stolen cop car to the hospital was not going to be such a good thing. Hopefully he had a good excuse and would be able to explain that. Scarlett wouldn't be able to help him there, money only went so far. Assaulting an officer was one that she didn't think would be something she could pay off.

When they brought the stretcher out for her, she laid down completely and hissed through her teeth. Only when she hit the padding of the movable bed, did she close her eyes and let herself fall asleep. The pain was too much for her to stay conscious, and given that she was at the hospital now, she didn't see why she couldn't just... go to sleep.

They brought her in, and sent Arthur to the waiting room. He'd be out there for four hours, give or take, without hearing a single word about her. They basically left him hanging. She had went into surgery almost immediately to stop the internal bleeding and place a metal bracket in her shoulder to keep it from collapsing. Unfortunately she'd need more surgery, the internal bleeding had stopped momentarily but if she strained it, it could start again. Scarlett wouldn't take any form of medication that they gave her when she woke up, but that was because she was stubborn as a mule.

At the four hour mark, a nurse would come out and get Arthur and bring him into the room where Scarlett lay sitting up. It was obvious that she was still in agonizing pain. The nurse would look at Arthur when they entered the room and asked, "Can you convince her to take the medication? It is only going to get worse." She'd then leave the two of them alone and step out of the room.

The red head took a deep breath and glanced over at Arthur, "We need to talk, sit." She gestured with her head towards a chair that was in the corner of the room. He'd need to scoot it closer to her bed, but when he did and got situated she'd talk again.

Upon arriving at the hospital Scarlett just crawled out and leaned against it until the stretcher came for her. She was probably wanting o get away from the car as soon as she wanted because it was stolen but at the time he didn't care. Arthur just wanted to get her to the hospital as soon as possible. They brought her into the building and told him that they would get him when she was ready. He took this time to go out and un cuffed the still unconscious officer and left the keys by him. He would deal with the officer when he had too but he had other matters to attend too. He decided to take a nap while he waited for some word on what was happening.

Four hours later a nurse came out to retrieve him bringing him into Scarlett's room which when he got there she was sitting up. Before the nurse left she asked him to make sure that Scarlett took the medication because it would help her with the pain she was in. He thought that she was probably too stubborn to take anything playing the tough guy card but hey whatever she wanted to do he wasn't going to tell her to do anything. He might mention it but she probably wouldn't do anything anyway. When the nurse left and he got closer Scarlett asked him to sit down and that she was going to ask him something. He went over and got the chair scooting it over taking a seat. "How are you doing? You know you should take the medication considering the pain is just going to get worse,"

Scarlett watched as he did as she asked, and without question. Normally she'd question why he didn't try and stand up to her demand and ask any questions why. However, it was different this time around. He had stabbed her with a seven foot sword. Even if it wasn't entirely his fault, he still held some of the blame. She'd need to teach him training antics when she was feeling better. When training, usually one doesn't go for such a deadly attack, but heat of the moments can happen when they least expect it. So she wouldn't blame him, not in the slightest. Granted, Wraith wouldn't be so forgiving if he found out who did it. Which, unfortunately Scarlett never lied to him...

Sorry Arthur.

"I'm fine." She said, lying obviously. Her entire body ached but there was nothing she could do about it. She wasn't a big drug taker, and even if it would make her feel better she wasn't going to damage her body by taking crap like that. Not for an injury like this. "I don't take drugs, even if they are from the doctor. I'll ju--st, mmm, suck it up." She hissed through her words as she adjusted herself in her bed.

When she was as comfortable as she was going to get, she looked over at him and rested her head back. "You're skilled, Arthur. The Triad were right in bringing you to the family." She took a deep breath, the puncture to her lung was the only thing that was hurting at the moment, and that was anytime she took a breath in. Which, literally, was every other second. "I want your help with something. Are you familiar with the war that is going on between the different families within the Triad?" She needed to start somewhere, if he wasn't familiar she'd explain. If he was, then she could easily just get straight to the point.

She told him that she would just suck it up and move on. There was no point to keep trying if she wasn't going to take anything. He didn't want her to keep being in pain but he wasn't going to argue with her about it. She was a tough person and if she said she didn't she didn't need it. "Also I wanted to apologize for what I did I shouldn't have went for my sword. I should have just kept up with my fists."

She went on to say that he was skilled and knew why he was brought into the family and if he knew about the war. How could he know about the war he hasn't been in the city for that long. "No I have no knowledge of a war between the families. I will help you in whatever you need of me." She needed his help and figured it had something to do with her testing him. It was apparently some sort of test. She obviously had something big planned or else she wouldn't have tested him.

Scarlett ignored his apology completely, there was no need for him to be sorry. It wasn't as if it were his fault completely. She was the one that lost concentration and caused herself to be injured. Even if he had got lost in the moment, there was no blame to be had on him; at least not entirely. Whether or not Wraith found it that way, was a different story. She would have to ease into telling him at this rate. "Accidents happen, especially when one isn't paying attention." She said, moving her good arm over and rubbing at her eyes. "My mind was wondering where it shouldn't. Which is what leads me to why I asked you about the war."

The red head wasn't much of a talker, but as of lately she seemed to be talking more and more about this war then she had ever wanted to. "Don't get too ahead of yourself, Arthur. You haven't even heard my proposal." Taking a deep breath, she leaned her head back and began explaining the war in simple terms. It was a long and tiresome tale, but it had to be told.

"Back when power was being distributed in the Triad, Jin and Qiao Xifeng had been in the running for the chairman position. The favorite seemed to be Qiao Xifeng, however for whatever reason Jin was the recipient of the title. She was enraged, blaming sexism and other crap on the reason she wasn't picked, that she left the Tai Yeung family and in essence brought about the Hop family, adapting the name The Empress. This brought war almost instantly. She was so blinded by her hatred for Jin and the council for their decision that she was ready to go into an all our war against them." Scarlett shifted herself, moving her shoulder slightly so she wouldn't lose feeling in it. "She went for an attempt on Jin's life, but failed horribly. The war has been on a gliding path since, without much activity from the Empress on Jin, not only I but the majority of the Triad feel the climax to this war approaching very soon."

There was a glimpse of hatred in her eyes for the woman that she spoke of. "I'm gathering a very select few to bring with me to end this war without spilling the blood of the Tai Yeung, but only that of the Hop family. There isn't much of us going: a vampire, a psychopathic nut job, a shadow user, a wind user and I. So, I was testing you today to see if you would be a good fit for my little suicide crusade." He needed to know that she couldn't guarantee his life. Nor would she pretend that she could. Scarlett herself felt she wouldn't make it out alive, especially if Wraith were to show up.

"Do you have any questions?"

He listened to her describe the war between the families. It appeared that she has only recruited a small group of people in order to take this mission on with her. It sounded like what she was planning was most likely going to be a suicide run. He didn't like that she considered it a suicide run but if it was something that could end the war he had to take the chance. It wouldn't be easy according to how she made it sound. The thoughts of maybe not coming back kind of exciting him considering that his profession was pretty much a suicidal job anyway. Who in their right mind would take on dragons for a living. Many people who found out would think him crazy for taking up his profession but he did it anyway. He was good at escaping places that he didn't expect to get out of.

She asked if he had any questions which he had a couple. "Well before I give my answer what exactly are we up against. Like what should we expect from this suicide mission of yours."
He had a serious stance about him. "What do you think our odds are of us getting out of there with everybody that you have asked to go?" Hopefully she would have quite a bit of information on what they were up against so they weren't rushing into anything. If she had no information he would suggest getting some before taking on this mission.

She was thankful he had questions. The last thing that Scarlett wanted was someone that didn't care to know anything and was ready to jump into the fight and not care about death. McAlister was the only exception to that, because she knew that he was crazy before she recruited him. There was no going around that one.

"First, we are going to probably be going against the entire Xing Hop family. I can't imagine they'd just let us go straight to the Empress... However, the Empress's bodyguard will probably be our biggest problem..." Her eyes trailed from looking at Arthur. She was talking about Wraith; the love of her life. The only thing that stood between the Empress and Scarlett was the one thing she couldn't take down to get to her. "However I'll be taking care of him. You and the rest of the group will be carving a way to the Empress."

Scarlett paused and took a deep breath. "As survival is concerned..." She wasn't sure about their survival, but there was no need for them to die there. "If worse comes to worse and we lose, I'd expect everyone to try and get out. But we are all strong; capable of moving mountains if we work together." She paused but only for a moment. My own survival is very low, and I'd prefer you not ask why." She wasn't the kind of person to seem like she WANTED to die. So there was obviously a deeper reason to her statement she didn't want revealed.

"My first priority is to kill the Empress, however, along side that is my families lives." She wasn't the sentimental kind of person, but she wasn't heartless.

She started to answer his questions stating that they would probably be going up against the entire Xing Hop family. That sounded like a lot of people and the odds of being able to do that with a small group of people sounded almost impossible. "If we are only going in with a small group what are our odds of even making it to the empress? I assume that they are meta-humans as well so it seems almost impossible to get close." How is this bodyguard going to be that big of a problem he thought to himself. "What exactly can he do that makes it the biggest problem of the night? What is this person you speak capable of." He paused to listen. She at first started talking about dealing with this person alone while the rest of the group continued towards the empress.

There should always be a backup plan in case things didn't go well and teamwork would play a big part in this mission. She didn't think that she would be able to survive this encounter. "If you were just talking about working together how does splitting off from the group benefit what we are trying to accomplish. Going against a whole family to get to our goal is hard enough nobody should be going off on their own." He got serious. "Also if we go in as a team we go out as a team nobody gets left behind and you will make it out of this alive as well as everyone else you have recruited. That I swear." Throughout the years he hasn't stuck around with people too long, never trusting them as far as he could throw them. He was part of a family now which meant that he would protect them at any cost. Even though this mission seemed impossible if they did fail it wouldn't cost anybody their lives. He Is honor bound to a family of people now so along with his normal goal he had a new one and that was making sure to keep everyone in the family safe from harm as well as he could.

"Your reasons for not telling how you think low of your survival being low is your own business so I will not question it But don't go into this believing that you are going to die. You have other people that are here to help you so you have nothing to worry about. Thinking like that about your own survival is like almost signing your own death away and that I will not allow. You will make it through this and we will all see each other on the other side when all is said and done." It was true he would not just let her throw her life away. This mission required everybody to be on the top of their game and as such needed complete focus from everybody not to mention working together.

Scarlett wasn't expecting to be bombarded with questions, but she had to expect some. As she listened, and he paused to wait for a response, se would give him one.

"We have a good chance, the group is small so that we don't attract a lot of attention on the way in. This is going to be a sneak attack, not one that needs to make a lot of noise." She started, and continued. "Her bodyguard will be the strongest of her protectors. He is..." She didn't know how to tell him, because it wasn't any of his business, but she needed to give him some form of an answer. "This person is someone special to me and I can't let anyone else do what needs to be done. I'll keep him busy." Scarlett was more then capable of doing that.

Taking a deep breath, she continued answering his questions. "Splitting off isn't necessarily the smartest move, but her bodyguard will be our biggest problem. It would be the best way to finish her if he wasn't near her. Just, everyone needs to get out. My life is a sacrifice I'm willing to give to take her down. Do not..." She said with a stern voice and a serious expression, "make me pull ranks on you and make that an order." Scarlett did out rank Arthur, at least she would say it as such.

"Look, Arthur..."
The red head put her hands in her lap and sighed, "You have to promise me that you'll do whatever I ask of you when we get in there. I know what I'm doing. If this weren't for a good reason, I wouldn't be risking everything to do it." Her sapphire blue eyes met his as she pleaded with him, "Please, my life is meaningless if I can't have the one thing I'm fighting for. I don't want to throw my life away, but if it comes down to it I won't hesitate to make the sacrifice. Just trust me when I say that I know what I'm doing."

Scarlett closed her eyes and turned her head away from him. There was agony in her voice as she thought about the upcoming fight. The fight that would ultimately decided whether or not Wraith and her would be able to end this war, and finally... be together without having to be apart.

"I need your answer. Will you help?" He hadn't necessarily said yes, so she needed to make sure.
