| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Scarlett barely climbed out of the taxi cab without clinching her jaw and hissing through her teeth. The hospitals didn't have healers on standby, which she didn't understand why. However there wasn't anything she could do about it, the last thing she was going to do was stay the night in a hospital. She had been there for about five hours and all they could do was secure the bone so that it would begin to heal on its own. She would have to go back tomorrow so that they could finish up with the surgery. However she demanded to go home, even if they didn't want to let her there was no stopping the pyromancer from lighting her way out of there. Through the lobby she went, and as she passed the man that worked at the front desk he rushed from around and moved to the elevator. "Are you alright?" The sling that held her arm up told the story. The bloody clothes she had on were torn, but there wasn't blood coming from anywhere--at least not anymore. The man had a fearful expression on his face, yet he wanted to help anyway that he could. Even if that was just summoning the elevator. "Yes, just press the button." Her tone wasn't rude, just very straight forward. She wanted nothing more then to take off her clothes and get cleaned up. He obliged and called the elevator down for her. His eyes followed her until she stepped into the elevator and the doors closed behind her. Scarlett would have to thank him for his concern another day. The ride up made her sick, even if she couldn't feel it moving at all. That was the last time she would train with someone before the fight against the Empress. She obviously couldn't pay attention long enough to finish a fight, and would end up killing herself before they got to the battle zone. What was funny was, she didn't think of how Wraith would react to this. She had all but forgotten he was probably worried sick about where she was and why she was coming home this late. Normally she'd show up between eleven and twelve each night, shower then go to bed. If work held her longer, it wasn't until three in the morning. How would she explain what happened? She wondered if he would take that it was an accident, and forgive and forget. For some reason, she didn't see that happening one bit. Once the elevator door opened and she made it to her apartment door she unlocked it and very quietly slipped in. Her grace wasn't so fluent as her elbow bumped into the door and she yelped out in pain. "Son of a--" Biting her tongue she leaned against the wall and slammed the door shut. So much for trying to be quiet. There was no grace in her at the moment, a different side to Scarlett that hadn't been seen before. "Wraith?" Scarlett called out through the darkened apartment. It was that moment it hit her, how was she going to tell him. She hoped that he wouldn't go after Arthur for this. It was her fault after all... "Sorry I'm so-- mmm-- late.." She tried to hide the pain behind her words, but he knew how to read her better then she knew how to read herself. It was both loving and kind of scary. |

Holding her head up to look at Angaelus as he finished up. Everything around them went back to normal as his wings disappeared, and the awe experience that Scarlett had disappeared. She was grateful for Angaelus for what he had done for not just her, but for Wraith as well. "Angaelus," She called out before he turned from her and headed towards the door in silence. "if you need anything, never hesitate to come to me. You're always welcome here." That was NOT something she extended to ANYONE. She hadn't even extended it to Wraith's brother--even if it was implied in their relationship. Granted Angaelus would not know that, because she wouldn't tell him how rare that was for her, but it should have been assumed with the kind of person she was... So in a way that was the biggest thank you she could have given. Scarlett now sat there alone in her apartment. She'd move her arm up and down, feeling the plate in her shoulder was the only discomfort she had. Other then that it was like nothing had happened. Raising her hand up over her shoulder wasn't going to happen, and even if she could move it slowly she feared doing anything quick with it. After she had the doctors take the plate out, she'd keep it in a sling just for safety purposes. Stepping off the stool she strolled towards the small mirror that hung adjacent to the kitchen. Her left hand moving over and removing the bandages. There was no pain, and there were no words to express how thankful she was for it. Even if it wasn't the most painful thing she had endured, it still wasn't a pleasant experience. Removing the bandages, the peeling of the tape against her skin left a red mark, with a new wound that would add to her collection of scars across her body. Scarlett would have to explain to her children (if she ever had any) why their mother looked like a dart board. Taking a deep breath and letting out a sigh, Scarlett shifted her eyes to looking straight at herself in the mirror. Her own sapphire eyes looking into her own. The dark circles under her eyes were evidence enough that she had a long day. The color of her skin was lighter then normal, but at least the color was beginning to come back to her. "I need a shower..." She whispered to herself, her hand moving up and brushing her fingers through her hair. "...and sleep" Leaning forward, she pressed her forehead against the mirror. "And of course you..." She said with a smile. Scarlett could always tell when he was there with her... It became an extra sense. |

Wraith had done what Angaelus required of him, he had stayed away, but the moment the angel was gone, the shadow returned to her side. Could she feel him so easily? Did her heart beat faster when she knew he was there? None of his masters had been so attuned to him as Scarlett was. It was not even that he was cold, he simply brought no heat of his own. But seeing her forehead pressed against the glass. In the final few steps he took towards her he managed to unbutton his shirt and let the silken material float to the ground, his strong arms encircling her. He had been afraid to hurt her before, but now there was only tenderness in his touch. “You will always have me.” His hands glided over her, stripping the blood soaked and ruined clothing from her form. It was seductive and intimate, how could being undressed by her lover not be a sensual act. But it was compassion which lingered in his touch. The deeper desire to know she was alright and to fulfil every wish she had of him. Sliding the clothing down her arms he brushed her hair to one side. Despite the weariness she saw looking back at her in the mirror, Wraith saw only her. His beloved elemental, nothing could have extinguished her beauty, least of all her human frailty. Not to him. His lips brushed along her neck he had just exposed, trailing kisses from the tender point behind her ear, all along the length of her injured shoulder. All the while his hands unfastened her pants and pushed them far enough over her hips that gravity did the rest. It was torment as he captured her hand and led her out of the pile of their discarded clothing, drawing her towards the shower. He had let her side for as long as he needed to and not a second more. It was not that the shade doubted Angaelus’ abilities, but he needed to be reassured for himself that Scarlett was going to be alright. If that meant sharing her shower and washing the caked blood from her skin and her hair that is exactly what he intended on doing. He would always be her strength, even as he pulled her into the too warm shower, letting the water wash everything else away. It was the same shower he had first followed her into, the tiled wall he had kissed her against and threatened to lose his heart to. If only he had known then that he was already irrevocably in love with her. Human’s fell in and out of love with one another like the seasons, but shadows had no seasons. He would never tire or her, he would never drift away. Whatever came, his heart would always belong to her. |

They found love in a hopeless place <3 I'd hope you would have found your way by now I think I have... Scarlett moved her arms down and rested them against Wraith's which wrapped around her form. Her head leaned back from the mirror and rested against his chest. His skin was that of glass; cold and smooth. She loved feeling him so close to her, even if it were just him holding her. If she could only have one thing, it would be him in her arms. Wealth, the Triad, her company; it all meant nothing when it stood beside him. He would always come before anything that she had, even her own life. Wraith meant the world to her, and nothing would ever change that. "And you will always have me." Her words were but a whisper into his ear as he held her close. You'll never see what the world is truly about. He is what my world is about... The touch of his fingers against her skin sent chills up her back, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. She wouldn't struggle as he lifted her shirt up and over her head, even if her arm was last to come up, he was still able to take it off seamlessly. The brush of her hair to the side had her head tilting to the side to follow in its way. Her eyes closed and she bit softly at the corner of her lip. The sensual kiss he pressed against her neck all but made her weak in the knees. The only thing keeping her standing was his body pressed against her and the wall in front of her. His hands that trailed down her hips and to her bottoms, where he allowed them to fall to the ground. Nothing but the laced underwear blocking what flesh was still hiding. Now she'll die alone. I'll have him till death do us part... When his hand took her own and pulled her off towards their shower, she obliged without hesitation. Stepping from her shorts, she strolled off with him. There was a gentleness to him that she adored, and the roughness he showed she admired. His entire embodiment was what Scarlett loved. If there were one thing that stood out beyond everything he was, it was that he had the best of both words. She knew that he would be there to cuddle with her whenever she was having a bad day, but also beat the crap out of the ones that caused her day to be bad. Was he a bad boy? Maybe. Yet he was more then that; he was the essence of her perfect image of a man. Even if Scarlett never expected perfection, it was what she got from him. You're a lost cause. Yet I was found... Wraith pulled her into the steaming hot water, right after she lost the last of her clothing and only when he did the same. She'd just bought those pants, he wasn't going to get those wet (<3). Her hands finding their rightful place at his chest, and moving closer to him. Her body pressed against his, letting the downpour of water fall over them. Those slate eyes she had fallen so hard for would catch her sapphire eyes as they drew up his body. The water drowning over her and washing away the crimson blood that covered her skin. Hopeless. He found hope in me... Moving her hands up, she wrapped them around his neck and lifted up onto her tip toes. The stiffness in her arm was all but ignored as she pulled herself into him. Nothing was between them, not even the water could seep its way down their bodies. Water pooled around them, and cupping between their chests, but it would have to go around them if it wanted to get by. It was a metaphor for everyone that wanted to stand between them. They could either go around or be stopped completely. Scarlett could never find another like Wraith, and she wasn't going to let anyone take him away from her. Death would follow anyone that tried. Her lips curled into a smile just before she pressed them against his own supple ones. The taste of him would be something she'd never get tired of. Even if she was mortal, which she would one day want to change to be with him forever, she loved differently. If there was one thing that she had learned from her father, was that love was sacred. He had done it wrong, but she would not make the same mistake he had. Wraith was her one and only, until she drew her last breath. "I love you.." She only broke the kiss for a moment to whisper those words, before finding them against his once more. |
