| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? It was a bright day outside....so the vampire Alice had had to duck between building to building. She wasn't deathly weak to sunlight, but she wasn't a huge fan. What else for a vampire to do on a bright sunny day in the refreshingly cool autumn...than to buy new clothes at the mall? Alice wasn't the most fashion forward woman on the face of the earth, but she did have her own personal preferences....sadly, her tastes weren't very professional. Alice had been out to dinner with her boss, Jin, and he had made mention about how her clothes didn't make her suitable for higher class restaurants. Being the over thinking woman she was, she decided that meant she needed a new wardrobe! Today was her first day off in a while, and she decided to use it to her best advantage. Several hours later, the vampire was frowning in front of a rack of clothing. She hadn't bought a thing all day. She had no idea what was too professional, too casual, or what really suited her appearance. Alice hung her head, biting her lip hard in shame. What sortof woman didn't know what to shop for herself?! |

There's this stereotype about French people and their sense of fashion. Juliette always liked to think that she didn't quite fit that stereotype. Au contraire, she liked to think she had a great sense of fashion. Whether or not anyone actually agreed, well, that was their business. As a young socialite among the average citizens of Niwa, Juliette always needed a new outfit for one thing or another—an evening dress for a dinner party, a fine suit for a professional meeting, and perhaps even some casual wear for an everyday outing—because she just simply couldn't be seen in the same outfit twice, heaven forbid! Such was the effort she needed to put into this facade she has crafted for herself, an absolutely charming persona placed out in the public eye of the city. She certainly had the money for it, with the job she worked and that secret, stubborn little habit of hers that more often than not supplemented her income. So here she was, mulling over the selection of clothes, wondering what she should buy now to maintain that illusion she must constantly work at. It was then she noticed another woman contemplating the same rack of clothing, appearing to have trouble deciding. The French woman's bright aquamarine eyes quickly darted over the selection, and then the young woman. She then smiled as she spoke, her accent curling around her words. "I think a dark color would suit your fair complexion. Perhaps a burgundy or deep green." Her slender fingers glided over the hangers on the rack, hovering over a dark red blazer that caught her eye and would hopefully catch that of the young lady's. What was the harm in offering a little fashion advice? If anything, Juliette had to maintain an appearance of being friendly; in fact, she was being genuinely so. In a world where few could be trusted, it was good to befriend others—even if you still have to be a little wary to avoid a stab in the back. |

Alice blinked out of her concentration, and looked up at the slightly older woman. She bit her lip and tugged out a green tinted suit. "You think? I don't know....green might clash with my hair...I suppose though...I probably should dye that a natural colour..." She put the suit back. She saw the other girl's fingers dance over a dark red blazer, and she looked up at her again, as if asking permission. She moved away slightly, so that Alice could slide out the blazer, and hold it against herself. She spun around and saw one of the many mirrors these sorts of stores had. She tilted her head. "Hmm...you're right...it's spooky how white my skin is in comparison to this...add some darker make-up..." The vampire grinned. She could change her appearance. She would do this; and Jin would be impressed by her maturing clothing tastes! A part of her inside wanted to facepalm about buying new clothes because of a stupid comment he made about her... "Though, this one's too big." Alice turned again, putting that blazer back on the shelf, grabbing a couple of a smaller size. She grinned at the other woman. "I'm Alice!" She stuck the arm she didn't have the blazers draped across out to shake her hand. "Thanks for the help...really. This isn't my style, so I'm sortof clueless here." |
