Niwa's Recent News
  • 19 April 2015 -- Niwa is under new management!

Niwa is now under new management as we strive to stand up the the standards of fun and entertaining roleplaying we have so far provided here at Niwa. Today makes the start of a campaign to bring in new members as Head Admin Akaiken and Support Admin Sparky work together to improve and uphold the current face of Niwa and keep us all moving forward!

They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home.

Can you survive it?

New Found Hope; Eun Mi Seung switches to Yakuza

The meeting was set.. somewhere public of course and though Eun knew this district well she hadn't been here in a long time. She had taken a vacation to Korea to see old friends but she she had come back she had found things had changed... and changed for the worse. Her body guard had gone and vanished and she wasn't sure if she would ever see that crazy bastard again.. and worse the GJK had fallen apart. The doctor had taken his money and vanished and Lien.. that little witch.. had conspired against the GJK.

Eun had found this all out when she had gone to the young girl's apartment to find evidence that the girl was way more than Eun had ever expected. So.. with much frustration she had managed to set up these meeting with the Yakuza. She might have been Korean proud but there was only so much the woman could handle.. especially since they had sent her back knowing everything had fallen apart. They had just expected her to pick up the pieces and be happy with it?! No.. Eun would no longer stand being used as nothing more than a personal secretary. She wanted way more than that.

Her dark brown business jacket was clasped closed, head tilted a bit up as she sat like a lady at a chair in a bistro in this business district. Her dark brown hair was tied up as always, the short pony tail in the back with bangs just above her brows. Her stormy gray eyes seemed to be concentrating on what ever she was thinking about. The large umbrella above the table swayed slightly as people came and went. Beside her was a black briefcase, and all of her hopes and dreams to move forward. Leaving her gang was not easy for her.. but she knew it was a step in the right decision. So she waited patiently, taking another sip of her porcelain tea cup filled with warm coffee.

A black sports car roared around the corner, pulling into a prime parking spot, and stopping on a dime. A valet rushed up to the car, but not before the young man who had driven it stepped out. Despite his youthful appearance he had a regal gaze that swept over the crowded sitting area outside the bistro. Here the wheelers and dealers of Niwa's business world gathered to talk loudly about their self important accomplishments. He hid a sneer behind a calm facade and a pair of sunglasses.

If there was ever a time for Shuichi Tsugumi to be nervous it was now. His uncle was dead. He still wasn't sure about how he felt about that. On the one hand, the man had been more of a father to him than his own ever had been. He had lead the Tsugumi well, saving them from Tadao's follies. He'd built up an organization strong enough to survive his own death. On the other hand, he'd stolen Shuichi's inheritance. He'd denied him the opportunity to lead. And that was the simple version of thing. Shuichi was sure he could have done more for the Tsugumi if given half a chance. Well, here it was.

Despite the thoughts buzzing through his head he walked with confidence. He didn't really care who this mysterious woman was so long as she gave him something palpable. Something he could work with. He approached her with an imperious stare and a bold stride. His form blocked the midday sun and obscured him somewhat as he looked down on her.

"Eun Mi Seung?" he asked casually.

Eun saw him approaching, remembering him from around the crime world and she was eager to stand as he approached with a warm smile and held out her hand to him. "Hai. A pleasure to officially meet you Mr. Shuichi Tsugumi." she bowed her head to him as she shook his hand gently and made sure to stay polite. Despite being Korean, her Japanese and English was flawless. There were many languages she had learned to speak just for business and Japanese and English had been a must along with Mandarin and Spanish, but other she had learned for the simple enjoyment.

She sat back down, gazing at him and drew a breath. "Do you wish to order anything before we discuss business?" she asked softly, wanting of course to entertain her company before she assumed that he just wanted to crack right down to why she had arranged this meeting.

It wasn't often she met with heirs and leaders of other rival gangs but this whole arrangement was rather odd so she really didn't want to put him on edge anymore than she needed to for this to work out. He was indeed a handsome man like she had been told by a few girls from around but now.. sitting here across from him in this place seemed strange to her.

Shuichi took her hand, shaking it lightly, then sat down across from her.

"No, thank you." He waved away a serving woman who began to approach the table, not waiting to see if Eun would want anything else.

"Lets get down to business," he said, folding his hands in front of him. He paused to look her up and down. She had an impressive figure, he couldn't deny it. And she was well spoken and polite. But that was usually the way of informants. They were the kind of people that could get close to those with useful information. Good looking, congenial. He didn't let it effect him.

"My contact claims you have something of value to me." He steepled his hands on the table before him, leering at the woman. He didn't bother lowering his voice, or asking that they speak somewhere privately. A crowded, public place, such as this was really the best place to meet. No one could sneak up on them, and any eaves droppers would only catch snippets of conversation, drowned out by the tide of chatter coming from the tables around them.

"I wan't to know what it is and how much you think it's worth to me."

Right down to business... Eun really did prefer it that way. She lifted the briefcase up, setting it gently into her lap as her stormy grey eyes stayed focused on the man across from her. He knew business well it seemed... the brass tax of each penny so to speak.

"My information is highly valuable to your organization, and all I ask is to join you in the higher ranks so I do not have to work my way up. Before coming to you.. I have been in second command of the GJK for a very long time. I'm sure you haven't heard much from them lately as they seemed to have fallen apart while I was away to Korea for business. My people have left me here to clean up their mess after putting an idiot into power over me. So now.. instead.. I think it's best if I just join someone a bit more dedicated."

Eun drew a breath, allowing the man to take in what she had to say before she opened the briefcase and placed down a file... the file was of Ryou's death, and then another.. Ryou's father's death. Her movements were slow, so not to spoke him into thinking she was pulling a gun.

"These men were Tsukamoto correct? The son of Elder Takeshi and the grandson. I know this must be a great loss to your community.. especially so.. close together. And of course there has to be an heir to take over for that family... with Ryou now gone and Elder Takeshi must be on his death bed since he lost both son and grandson just.. two days apart."

She shook her head a bit and picked up another folder, laying it in front of him of DNA matches. The first was Ryou's father, then Ryou, and then a third with no name. The third was a definite match.. a sibling to Ryou and a child of Ryou's father for sure.

"Not only.. do I know who this heir is.. but I also know where they currently reside, and of course.. I know a few of their secrets. I will give you this person.. if you give me your word and bring me into your organization."

Thoughts whirled as Shuichi considered her words. This woman truly was valuable. Invaluable even. Her position in the GJK would have been enough to convince him he should have her, but the information she brought was even more useful. He couldn't let her know that of course. Even if she was offering him an excellent deal, it didn't benefit him to show her his hand.

He pushed aside the thoughts of Elder Takeshi's son. If the man were still alive, that might have been useful, but everyone had thought he was dead before now anyway. It was surprising, but not particularly useful. Ryou's death on the other hand was welcome news. Not only was it the elimination of a future rival, and possibly information to hold over the Tsukamoto's heads, but he had never liked Ryou and was more than happy to see the spoiled prick gone.

"Well, I can't say how Tsukamoto will react to this news, but I can imagine the news of another heir will be somewhat useful." This was true enough, this secret child, whomever they were, was not only useful as collateral, but their separation from Yakuza politics might make them a useful puppet as well. Worst come to worse, it might help to leave Takeshi without any successors.

"I think we can deal. Care to go for a ride?"

She watched his calm and collected face as he gazed at what she had presented him with and though she knew he was just playing it cool she couldn't help but feel delighted in the fact that she had made herself out to be a very valuable player in these games. Once the offer came for the ride, she gathered up the papers to put them neatly into the briefcase and politely set money down onto the table to pay for her bill.

"A ride would sound nice right about now." she smiled at him with a knowing eye. Yes.. yes this was coming altogether quite nicely. Joining the Yakuza was going to be a huge step in the right direction and once she started towards this.. nothing was going to stop her. She had made sure to join at.. just the right time. With so many deaths in the Yakuza she was sure she could ascend the ranks easily and put herself into a good position in which she could get herself settled into.

Eun liked power.. she didn't want to be quite at the top but she certainly wasn't going to start at the very bottom all over again. No... with her skills and talents she was far too good to start there again. She rose with a smile and followed her new business partner towards his car, couldn't help but give a bit of a marvel at it, it figured he would drive this nice flashy car.
