| They said this was a city for our kind, they said it was a safe haven from the rest of the world. This was suppose to be the city where we where safe from regular humans. But, in a city where Meta-Humans run rampant, is there such thing as safety? When taking what you want is as simple as waving your hand, or closing your eyes, how can there be law? In this city, the truth is there is only one source of law, and that are the different criminal organizations that have formed all around us. The only order is that of the darkest part of humanity, of criminal organizations where the strong thrive while the weak gasp for air. This is Niwa Nights.. This is our home. Can you survive it? Pepper has powers that allow her to see the "color" of people's emotions. She can tell if a civilian passing by is either happy (yellow) or red (anger). Knowing city people tend to be more depressed, she made a trip downtown to see if the stories are true. But nothing prepared her for The Fudo Center. You see, on the internet, the area was described as "Similar (if not better) to New York City's Madison Square Garden, Niwa's Fudo Center is often the main stage for all the big events ranging from Operas to Basketball games, even hosting the latest pop artist coming to town. Even the circus holds its shows in this center!" But upon arrival, she saw the exterior of the center was the color of blue, which meant sadness. And green. And red. And brown. The Fudo Center was all these colors because it was trashed. In reality, it hadn't been used in awhile and so it seemed a little neglected. Although Pepper's power related to people, she was willing to cheer up anything: people, places, animals, and even inanimate objects. And this place needed some cheering up. Thankfully, she was dressed in khaki shorts that cut off mid-thigh -- she was very optimistic about the weather even though it was October -- a flannel, button-up, short-sleeved shirt; and sporting a blue folded-bandana across her short pink hair. (Hipster is in fashion nowadays.) She started picking up stray food-wrapping paper and bottles around the center. |

It wasn't far from the Fudo Center that Anael would be giving blood in a few hours, so she decided to take a look around before heading to the Plasma Center. Even if she was a true bitch, there was something about giving blood that connect her to her humanity. That day, she wore her Yakuza outfit, a long red outfit that cut up her legs, her redish purple hair fell down in front of her shoulders. The reason for the outfit that day, was that she had a meeting with the Leader of the Yakuza about a drug deal that was going down later in the week. Between her thighs, she had one of her desert eagles strapped across, one can never be to careful. As she approached the building, she had no intent on stopping at the large Dome stadium thing, but when she caught eye of a young girl cleaning up outside she leaned her head to the side and pondered. 'What the fuck..' Anael looked around, there was no one else really around. At least not anyone else cleaning the place up. Adjusting her hair, she pulled it back behind her shoulder and approached the girl. Her hands retreating to her hips as she leaned over and looked at the girl. "What in gods name are you doing child?" Anael raised an eyebrow, this place was such a mess, even if she got some of it cleaned up, it wouldn't make a dent in it. The girl would be out here for .. hours. |

Pepper wiped her brow with her arm, already breaking a sweat from the few bottles she picked up in the Center's surrounding area. To her delight, she saw a plastic grocery bag playing in the wind and grabbed it before it flew off. It'd be perfect to carry more trash! Yeah! This task might take awhile but the results would be worth it. A passerby approached her, sounding concerned when she asked what Pepper was doing. "I'm cleaning this place up!" she joyfully boasted, holding up a "peace sign" with her free hand. "This place looked sad, so now I'm making it un-sad!" Pepper always took pride in her work, even if her work was completely unnecessary. The stranger gave off an orange-reddish glow: not quite anger, but still annoyed. "Why are you upset?" Pepper asked, her tone changing almost instantly. She had a problem not being able to not acknowledge when someone was in a bad mood. "Is it the trash?" Her face suddenly lit up: "Do you wanna help?" Yay! The more people who help, the quicker it will go. "Pleassseeee! Pleasssseeeeeeee!" she begged with a puppy-dog sad face. This always worked on her parents. And those who paid attention to her. Kinda. |

Anael stood up straight and listened to the young girl. Upset? Who was upset? Pointing up to her face, Anael gave a confused look. "Upset, who me?" She sounded a little dumb founded, yet with a bit of irritation behind the question. Her bubbly attitude made Anael's head spin. Stepping back she shook her head, putting her hand up and scratching her neck. "No it isn't th--" The girl continued, asking if Anael wanted to help. A smirk began to crawl onto her face..the girl began to beg? Was that begging? "..." Anael wrapped her arms around her stomach and began laughing hysterically. Her legs almost giving way as she laughed so fucking hard. "Y-your so serious right now?" Alright, Anael let her knees fall from under. Falling to her knees she continued to laugh. There was a laugh within the laugh, and that laugh had a hint of a demonic tone to it. W-what is this?! THIS girl! She put a spell on Anael, why why.. She laughed for a good couple minutes, and finally composed herself and stood up. Waving her hand in the air, she shook her head. "Hell no. No, actually fuck no." She responded to her question, then continued. "What is wrong with you little one? Who is making you do this so that I can kick their ass." |

The lady looked confused as to why Pepper thought she was upset. Oh, of course! Pepper always forgot to mention to strangers that she can see emotions. Silly her! Getting ahead of herself! But before Pepper could even respond, the lady was keeled over, laughing while on her knees and her arms wrapped around her stomach. In that moment, her color shifted from orange-ish red to bright yellow! Obviously, she was happy. Pepper had no idea what she did but jumped for joy regardless. She made someone feel better! "Yay!" she said, pumping her fist in the air. "I made you happy!" She did a little jig. After two awkward minutes of this random lady laughing, which Pepper waited very patiently, the lady did not say "yes" to her proposal of joining forces to clean up this mess. Bummer. Pepper was so sure she'd agree; gut instinct told her. However, what was more perplexing were the questions the lady was asking. "What?" Pepper responded, tilting her head to the side in confusion. "Who did this to me? What do you mean?" |

Anael leaned her head to the side when the girl asked what she was talking about. "Oh.." Anael's face returned to her normal, cold stare. Sighing she shook her head. This girl was obviously doing this because she wanted too. Just like Anael went and gave blood because SHE wanted too. Rubbing the back of her neck she shook her head in disappointment. Moving forward, looking around she kicked the trash on the ground and turned to the young, cute, petite angel. "You are doing this on your own? No one is telling you to do it?" Anael couldn't judge her, for she did a random thing of giving blood to the banks every couple of months. Maybe this was her way of...giving back? "If so, that is stupid." She looked around and again, tucking her foot under an empty soda can she picked it up with the top of her foot. "People don't give a shit about this place, do you really think.." She tossed up the can and spun around and kicked it over fifteen feet "that picking up a few pieces of trash will change that?" She laughed and put her hands on her hips and turned towards the girl. "If they cared, you think they would let it get this shitty looking, girl!" Her tone was harsh, and very demeaning. |

For a brief second, Pepper felt a tinge of guilt. The blank stare of the lady reminded her of her parents' reaction to some of Pepper's crazy antics at home. Or her teachers' reactions to some of her crazy antics at school. Actually, she gets that stare a lot. It used to make her feel bad, as if she'd done something wrong. But she immediately put that thought out of her mind once the lady kicked the trash on the ground. Pepper scrambled to snatch it before more trash dispersed. "Just because no one told me to do it, doesn't mean it should be neglected!" she protested, her hands on her hips now. She tried to get on her tippy toes to make up for the 7 inches this lady had on her, but she quickly lost her balance and took a step back to support herself. "Picking up a few pieces of trash briefly makes a difference, in the same way making someone laugh makes their day brighter for a few seconds. If we all stopped caring, would things get any better?" |

Anael listened in on the young girl, and how she reacted. It was humorous, honestly, such a cute little girl, so naive. The world was such a dark place alright, there was no light that would fix that. People were just going to have to start adapting to the world of shadows. If people cared as much as they assumed they did, the world would have less crime, death and ...HAH who was Anael kidding, she enjoyed the way the world was. It was less complicated and made more since to her. "Look, little one." She moved forward and bent over to get face to face with the girl. "You picking up this trash doesn't bright my day up." Putting her hand under her chin she lifted her head up and looked around her, using her strength she turned the girl around with ease, examining her from head to toe. NOT a checking out examination! Leaning up she released the girl and rose her hand, and scratched the back of her neck. "Hmm..." The young girl standing in front of Anael showed great fitness, like her body was very well maintained. If Anael was seven years younger, her body would have looked like. Maybe with bigger breasts, and a plumper butt, but the same body cut. With the fear of asking something that made her sound like a pervert, she sighed. "Are you a meta-human?" |

The lady gave off a mix of emotions and colors, some as aggravation and some as amusement. It was very hard to gauge. Although it didn't matter what this woman thought of Pepper's plan -- because Pepper was right -- it did matter the amount of objection she was getting. Most people applaud her for efforts and yet this lady, without any provocation from Pepper, waltzes up and criticizes her good deeds and tries to put her down. "Well, if you have nothing nice to say," she said, smiling. "Maybe you shouldn't say it. Didn't your parents tell you that?" The lady twisted her around to check her out. Pepper wasn't sure the purpose because you can clearly see her face-to-face. But upon asking her about her abilities, she saw this as a chance to start making a name for herself. Hey, you gotta start somewhere! She proudly put both hands on her hips, shifted her hips to one side (sassy look), and declared: "Yes! I am Pepper Ryan, unofficial official Yakuza cheerleader!" She pumped her fist in the air. "Gimme a Y! Gimme an A! Gimme a Kuza! What's that spell? Y-A-Kuza!" |

"Oh sassy, now are we?" Anael responded to her snap back about not saying anything nice, blah blah. Whatever. The fact she said that about her parents, made her want to laugh, but she refrained as she mentioned she was a Yakuza. 'oh..oh dear..' the thought that this girl was a Yakuza, unofficial or not, she shook her head. The next action... Would confuse Anael and sent her into a haze of emotions. What was she supposed to feel right now? If Pepper looked at her, the emotions would begin to mix so much together the color that was surrounding her wouldn't even be known! "Oh my god what is going on right now." Anael spoke as she turned around and looked for someone. This has to be some kind of joke. Anael didn't know what was happening. As she finished cheering out the spelling...the half spelling of the Yakuza name..her body turned back to face Pepper with the following expression: o___________________o Anael turned from the little girl, and began walking away. Her eyes were stuck open and she was talking to herself. Her words were mumbled and she just...walked...away. The situation was to happy for her, and the fact she had just cheered out a gang's name as if it were a high school pep rally, really just confused the shit out of Anael. "What were the Yakuza thinking...were they even thinking? What is happening to us...we have children cheering our name?...are we a basketball team...why me...why'd I stop..this shouldn't have happened..." her mumbling continued as she tried to get away from the bundle of energy known as Pepper. |
